About: Hi there! My name is Andrea. I moved to Vermont 8 months ago with my dog, Hazel. We have been loving all the outdoor adventures VT has to offer! As we have settled, I realized I really missed dog sitting. I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, but I have a huge soft spot for dogs. Plus, Hazel loves dogs way more than humans and would love to make some new friends! We live in a spacious apartment conveniently located near a bike path and several beautiful trails. On weekdays, we enjoy 3–4 mile walks or hikes, and on weekends, we love exploring longer outdoor adventures together. Whether your dog is full of energy or prefers a slower pace, I’m happy to tailor our time together to meet their needs. I have experience caring for dogs at every stage of life, including seniors, and feel confident handling any special requirements they may have. On weekends, I’m available the entire day(s) and can fully cater to your dog’s needs. Whether it’s playing, walking, or cuddles, I’m here to provide it for your pup! I offer both dog walking and boarding services during weekdays and weekends. I’m a full-time science teacher, working weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM. While I’m away during the day, your pup would need to be comfortable being alone for 8+ hours without a potty break. That said, as soon as I’m home, we make up for lost time with a long walk or hike—so your dog will still get plenty of exercise, attention, and love. If your dog is okay with the weekday routine, they’ll enjoy a calm, caring home and plenty of outdoor fun once the workday is done. In my home, your pup will be treated like one of the family. I live in a spacious apartment with plenty of room to play, nap, and relax. My dog, Hazel, is super friendly and loves having a buddy around, so your dog will have a built-in companion during their stay! We stick to a comfortable routine; shorter walks in the morning and evening, a longer walk or outing during the day, and plenty of hangout time in between. On weekends, we love hitting the local trails for longer adventures. If I’m caring for your pup in your home, I’ll do my best to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible. I’ll follow your instructions carefully and send regular updates (with photos, of course!). Hazel and I will make sure your pup feels safe, loved, and totally at home!

“Piper was amazing! Our pup has a difficult mix of anxiety (isolation, separation, and any new sounds/noises) as well as doesn't do well with other dogs inside. Piper handled all these things and more! Piper was asking questions and anticipating Cora's needs beyond our typical list. We received detailed updates daily. Piper was quick to adapt to our dogs needs and quirks. Cora came home a well exercised, calm pup, and had already bonded with Piper in only 10 days. We will definitely try to book with Piper again.”

Gwynn sent us videos, pictures, and daily updates which made us very happy to see how well Shadow was doing. “We couldn’t ask for a better experience with Chad. Our family stayed in Smugglers’ Notch/Stowe area and our resort (if you do timeshare, you understand) doesn’t allow pets. We still wanted our dog close and finding Chad is awesome. He took the time to discuss ahead of boarding all necessary details about Pakun. He even asked for written notes and sent daily pictures and videos. We are kept updated especially with important details about our dog’s behavior. We could tell our Pakun was treated so well. Our English Springer’s hair was not tangled and he was clean when we picked him up. It is hard to believe since our dog has videos of walks, playing in the park and playdates with other dogs,he even did enrichment activities. Our dog is used to group boarding when we go on vacation, he usually comes back smelly and all tangled up. We are so pleased with our experience this time and we are so glad we brought him to have his own vacation with Chad.”

About: I have had dogs since I was young; german shepherds, hounds, a Jack Russel, and now I have a 6 year old Belgian Tervuren / Border Collie mix that I’ve raised from a puppy. I am comfortable with dogs of all ages and temperaments and quirks. I am available to take care of your pet in the morning or evening on weekdays. I can also walk them during lunch with enough notice. Right now I am not boarding in my house, but I am more than happy to house sit (at your house), if I think it is a good fit. Daily exercise and stimulation will be provided for your pet. I usually bring my dog Indie to the park to play fetch, that way she can run around freely. I also bring her for runs, hikes, skis, etc. I use positive reinforcement training with Indie, in the form of tasty treats and fun play. I would do the same for your dog.

About: My schedule is flexible so I'm able to spend time throughout the day with your fur baby. I'm active and happy to play fetch for hours! I like to take puppers for multiple walks and give lots of love and pets. The clients I sit for like the fact they can contact me last minute and I'm generally able to adjust my schedule to be available. My schedule changes from week to week but feel free to contact me to double check my availability no matter the season! I like when clients leave me detailed instructions on what their pets normal schedules are, that way there's less stress put on myself and on your fur friend! I'm able to work from home most days of the week, this allows me to be available for all pet needs - morning, lunch time, and after work walks are a part of my daily schedule when we have a dog to take care of. Lots of mental stimulation and training exercises throughout the day to keep them out of trouble helps too! I have a 9 year old cat in the house that tends to keep to herself in the bedroom when there's a dog around. Our home is on 5 acres of land with a big yard to do lots of sniffing around. I'm also located right on the rail trail for longer walks and adventures!

“Julia was great at communicating, and drop off and pickup was easy. Her home is clean and contains a safe gated outside area. I had booked a single day to see how my dog would manage in a new location. While the location was beautiful, there were too many deers for my high prey drive dog. Regardless, my dog had a great time with Julia at the beach and came home happy and tired. I’m really grateful for Julia’s honesty about my dog’s inability to relax at the house due to deer. It wasn’t the best environment for my dog, but I could tell that Julia made sure to make the best of the day for Lizzy and she really values the comfort and safety of dogs above all else. I would highly recommend Julia to any friends with dogs who aren’t highly reactive to deer.”
