This is the first time I used Rover for dog sitting, and I absolutely hit the jackpot with Greg!!! I highly recommend him to anyone in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh for dog-related services. He is very friendly, caring, highly flexible, and trustworthy, and he maintained excellent communication/was highly responsive during the week that he watched my lab, Lily. Not a single concern crossed my radar leaving Lily with Greg for doggy day care. I knew she was in good hands and would be looked after well.

Val is an absolutely incredible dog sitter and we are so lucky to have found her. She is very flexible and communicative with us on dates and times. And most importantly, she is so so amazing with our dog Wilson. He is so excited to go over there every time and she sends so many pictures and videos which are our favorite part! They do so many different activities and Wilson loves her son so much! Cannot rave enough, thank you and see you soon!!

Mimo had such an amazing time with Liz and her family! Upon meeting, I immediately felt relieved leaving Mimo with her. Liz is very experienced with all types of dogs and was very attentive to Mimo when interacting with other dogs at daycare. She asked about Mimo’s quirks and dislikes upon booking which showed her understanding in the different personalities in dogs. Mimo loved them and can’t wait to see them again. Thank you Liz!

Justin was great as he was able to accommodate a late evening daycare visit for our dog Fran while we went for an event in town. He was incredibly accommodating and flexible with the timing and was very eager to help. His corgi Watson is adorable and a very social dog. Our dog was anxious but Justin was able to keep her company and sooth her while we were gone for a few hours, she eventually relaxed and laid her head on his lap! I would highly recommend Justin to take care of your dog as he loves them and provides great care for them.

This was my dog's first day at dog day care and it was only for a couple hours just to try it out. But everything went very well. Chang updated me with pictures shortly after dropping my dog off to assure me he was doing well. When I picked him up he was happy to see me but also seemed like he would have followed Chang back to her house if she wanted him to. So that was very comforting to see that he liked her. I will be a repeat customer.

About: Hi and welcome to my profile! I’m a new sitter to Rover and a lifelong animal lover. Animals of all kinds have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I’ve spent the past 20+ years caring for dogs. I understand that every pet is unique, and I will always take the time to learn their routine, preferences, and individual needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a longtime pet owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your furry family member. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, quiet companionship, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m happy to provide personalized care and plenty of attention. I also have experience caring for senior pets as I have a 13 year old little gal and understand the extra patience, gentle handling, and consistency these sweet seniors need. I’m comfortable administering oral medications, following detailed care instructions, and keeping you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel happy, safe, and loved while giving you complete peace of mind. I have a fenced yard that is quite spacious measuring one acre so there is plenty of room for exercise. I work from home Monday through Friday from 9-5 and will already be caring for my little Bella. If your dog needs some great company, premium snuggles and extra attention during the day, why not drop him or her off with me? 🐾 I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family member soon! If you have any questions about my experience or anything else, please feel free to reach out. Professional analyst who works from home during the week Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. I care for my own senior mini poodle already and have room in my yard and heart for another dog who could use some daytime snuggles and attention. I have a fenced in yard. I pay close attention to the owners requests to make sure they are followed precisely. My daytime job is in research. I am very detail oriented.

Barrett was fantastic. I was passing through Pittsburgh on a holiday weekend and needed someone to watch my two 1 1/2-year-old beagles while I attended a Pirates games with friends. Barrett welcomed Harper & Quincy to his home, provided regular updates, and took great of them (including giving meds). Would absolutely use again.

About: I have been dog sitting for friends for 15years. I have experience with all types of dogs from French Bulldogs to German Shepherds to King Charles Cavaliers. I treat each dog like they were my own and give them the best care possible while their owners are away. I also have experience dealing with smaller dogs that are aggressive with other dogs I work full time from home so I am able to give the dog any attention it needs and will be able to take them outside frequently. I will treat your pet like it is my own whlie they are with me. I have no issues with the dog sitting on furniture or sleeping on the bed. I will request that you provide a crate for when I have to leave the home

My dog Mac’s stay with Krista was amazing! She was a great communicator, sending constant updates and cute photos and videos throughout the day. Mac loved his time with Griffin and Meat, and got along with them so well! He is a very high energy dog, and as soon as we got home he plopped down on my bed and was ready to call it a night. Would highly recommend.

What can I say with so few words. We started working with Mary a couple of years ago and we couldn’t be happier with her services. Our dog has pretty severe separation anxiety, and he requires lots of special attention and a very specific routine when he’s left alone in the home. Mary right away was very receptive to our feedback and right away we felt as though she had a genuine love for our dog and their bond only seems to get stronger. We never need to ask for updates as she’s always checking in and sending photos. What more can you ask for as a pet owner? Furthermore, we feel the experience Mary provides our dog is often greater than what we can provide at home given we have just a tiny yard in the city. She has an expensive property and takes the dogs on several outdoor adventures through throughout the day when she can. I just know we can’t say enough good things about Mary. She’s a very kind and down to earth person and we can’t thank her enough for all she does for Siggi boy. Thanks Mary!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 673 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Wittmer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Wittmer commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 673 sitters in Wittmer, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
