Kenneth is the absolute best dog walker and dog whisperer!! My dog has anxiety and is afraid of everything but not Kenneth. He got to know my dog and is gentle, not pushy. He’s friendly and punctual. I highly recommend him!

She arrives with a smile and on time. She walks our 77lb pup with no problem. Our dogs truly do like het and warmed up to her quickly. We are pleased with Barb. She will be used going forward as both a dog walker and dog sitter. - Jenn

I can't say enough about how wonderful Julie is and how helpful she has been when I could not walk my dog, Sunny, due to an injury. Julie is a great communicator, punctual, and professional, and she quickly established a positive bond with my dog. Sunny knows the sound of Julie's car and is eager to walk when Julie arrives at our door. It warms my heart to see that Julie genuinely likes Sunny and I know the feeling is mutual. I am so grateful to have found Julie and strongly recommend her for dog walking services.

Erica was great and very patient with our pups. We have one dog that is very skiddish and takes awhile to warm up. He actually warmed up by the second day which is unusual for him. So glad found her as we lost our other dog walker who recently moved.

About: As an experienced dog foster, I have cared for more than 25 dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs, representing a wide variety of breeds and sizes. In addition, I was the proud owner of four dogs who each lived long, happy lives and reached their senior years before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the important role pets play as beloved members of the family. As a school teacher, I enjoy a very flexible schedule during the summer months and would love the opportunity to support families who need a safe, loving temporary home for their four-legged companions. Whether your pet needs overnight care, companionship during the day, or some extra exercise and attention, I am committed to providing the same level of care and affection that I would give my own dogs. As a teacher, I am currently on summer break, so I have availability daily throughout the week for play sessions and dog walks. I am also available for multi-night lodging. When you’re here, you’re family. Any animal under my care will be treated as one of my own. But with me, you get a whole family who are all trained in caring for dogs and cats, as each member of the household has been involved with fostering pups and raising kitties. The second floor of the house is separated by a door at the top of the stairs to allow separation between feline and canine friends if needed. Daily photos and FaceTime are available. We have multiple-sized dog crates if crating is requested. Although we may be new faces to your four legged companions, we will try to keep consistency in the rules you have at your home. If they are allowed on your couch, then they will be here. Feeding schedule will be dictated by how they ate at home. Walks will be frequent and there is a huge box of dog toys and cat toys to keep them entertained.

Rachel is a repeat walker and sitter and she helped us walk our pups and checked them when I think they ate chocolate the previous day. He threw up so she cleaned it up and protected our couch with another blanket. She is incredible, resourceful and dependent. And the sweetest person on earth.

I recently had the pleasure of hiring Tyler as our dog walker, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Tyler is consistently on time, which is a huge relief for our busy schedule. His communication skills are excellent; he keeps me informed about how our dog is doing during walks and is always open to any questions I have. What truly stands out is how well he follows our care instructions. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about our dog’s well-being, and that gives us peace of mind. Our dog is not only safe but also incredibly happy after spending time with Tyler. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker! Thank you, Tyler, for providing such wonderful care!

About: I’ve had a family dog since I was 4 and have loved each greatly. I’m great with all, no matter how big or small. I will make sure they’re treated like the family they are. I have experience giving medications if needed as well as keeping to routines. I’m currently self employed, so there’s plenty of time and energy to spare on doggos and kitties! I currently work from home and can take my work on the go if need be. I’m in an area that’s very walkable and I walk daily. I don’t have pets of my own so any time I get with them, whether friend’s or family’s, is a delight. I follow care specifications of clients to a T. I try to make sure the animals are taken care of as if their own parents were still there. Making sure they’re walked, fed, played with, given potty opportunities, or simply left alone if that’s what they prefer. I care for every pet as if it were my own.

Kendall has been wonderful with my rescue pup who’s experiencing a lot of separation anxiety since we moved and I’ve been having to travel for work a few days a week. She’s very communicative and I can tell she takes great care of all the pets that are in her charge. I would highly recommend Kendall for your pet sitting/walking needs any time!

  • 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
