“Charissa, Shawn and family, provided EXCEPTIONAL care for our boy. He had such a great time that all he wanted to do was nap when he got home. (Which is fantastic as he is a high energy boy!) They had to navigate losing power to a horrible storm and yet still kept him safe and cool and provided updates as they could. It really felt like leaving him with family! 10/10 will book again!”

“I am so glad that I found Stacy! She took excellent care of our Franklin, and 11 year old terrier. He loved looking out of her windows, sunning on the deck, and hanging with her pup. Stacy was great with communication and super flexible. Franklin will definitely be back next summer when we visit the area. I felt so comfortable and knew that Franklin was in good hands while on my trip. Thanks Stacy!”

“Michael and family were great! He was very responsive and checked in every day. You could tell he cared for my fur baby and took great care of her. He listened to her routine and also spoiled her with lots of snuggles and attention. I’m not sure she actually wanted to come home! I would 100% recommend Michael- and I will be sending my fur baby to daycare camp with him again!”

“She took very good care of our dog. She walked our dog with hers and sent us several pictures. We could tell from the pictures that she was happy and having a good time there. We could tell she had good attention from her family. We would definitely use her services again when we come back to the area.”

“Vicky, her husband and her family are an awesome family. She never disappoints me! She loves my babies and takes very good care of them like they’re her own. She’s a diamond of a dog sitter.!! The most important thing is my dogs ……they love her and her family and their dog and my dogs get along Great! … This is the third time they’ve been to her house and the first time was 10 days while I was in Rome!! I can’t say enough good things about her! I completely have confidence while I’m gone that my dogs are being taken care of just like I would take care of them! Plus, the price is incredible for peace of mind while you’re gone from your babies is incredible. She keeps me at ease that my dogs are happy and taken care of!”

“Melody took excellent care of our Ziggy! Ziggy was very hapoy hanging out with Melody. Ziggy is content to have interesting walks, to eat all her food and snacks and to sleep. Melody did well with all of that. I would highly recommend her. 🙂”
“Jennessa was so sweet and accommodating, she took fantastic care of my pup and provided daily updates about her. Highly recommend Jennessa and would definitely work with her again! Cinnamon also had a ton of fun while she was there so your pup/pet is gonna have a mini vacation while you are away!”

“She went above and beyond to make sure Marshmallow was enjoying himself and well treated! Plenty of space to run around, and other dogs to play with. The updates she sent throughout the day to show me how he was doing led me to feel happy with his care. Highly recommend, and looking forward to having D take care of Marshmallow in the future!”

“Tara and her husband took wonderful care of our new dog! Our dog is a rescue from a puppy mill and was anxious and is currently being house trained. Their kindness and patience with our dog made are days away stress free. We loved the pictures they sent us of our sweet girl! This was the first time that we used Rover and we will happily continue!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life! Mostly Pits, but comfortable caring for any breed, big or small. I have experience with trained and untrained dogs, hyper puppies, and senior dogs that need a little more patience than most. I also have experience caring for dogs that suffer from Tonic-Clonic (grand mal) seizures. I can also administer medication if needed. Rover is a part time job that also doubles as experience under my belt considering i’m going to school to become a vet technician. Personally pet care has always been apart of my daily life including cat care: feeding, enrichment, cleaning all bowls and liter box daily, bonding time(cuddles), even practicing tricks! (my cat can sit, spin, and go up on her hind feet all for a treat). Dog care includes: walking, feeding, outdoor and indoor enrichment, bathing, brushing etc. Im comfortable with pets in my home and also going to the clients home. I have 3 main areas in my home that I utilize for pet care. my finished basement which includes 2 separate rooms and a full bathroom, my backyard which is fully fenced with no grass. Lastly, the attic floor which includes my bedroom. If your pet is more hyper, I’d care for them in the basement since it has more space for zoomies and playing with toys. If your furbaby is more lazy and chill, we can relax in my bedroom!
“Jordan is awesome! She’s responsive, very accommodating and has a great setup on her property for outdoors play. Bo has separation anxiety, but Jordan made him feel incredibly safe and comfortable right from the start. Highly recommend!”

“My dog Hazel absolutely ADORES Abbigail!! This was our second time boarding with her and I cannot praise her enough. She treats Hazel like she’s her own dog, shows her nothing but love and compassion- even when Hazel steals muffins!”

“Foxy was great with my two dogs. She provided pictures and updates. Lincoln has separation anxiety, and she knew how to calm him, to the point that he owned the house. Blitz is a high-energy boy, and I know he kept her busy. This was a last-minute booking instead of the kennel at the vet - So glad the boys had a great vacation too!”

“Mary’s home was PERFECT for our Stanley - there was a fenced in yard to run around and plenty of snuggles on the sofas and bed. Mary was attentive to making sure Stanley had his own space to eat meals and chew on his bones. She sent photo and video updates and was always responsive whenever I reached out to check in with her. I truly felt that Mary and her family loved Stanley as their own while he was with them! I would absolutely recommend Mary and book with her again.”

“This is Tink’s 2nd stay with Kassandra and Justin and her dogs, it definitely won’t be the last. Tink was so excited to see her, and Kassandra sent pictures of Tink cuddled with her and her dogs. I don’t worry about Tink when she’s over there, Kassandra and Justin are both awesome with Tink.”

“This is the second time we have boarded with Ms. Anna - I cannot say enough praise - she is amazing with our high energy Husky! She sent updates and photos and genuinely loves animals. She is our go-to caregiver :)”

Stacy and family took such great care of my 2 year old pooch Graham, a rather large and beautiful handful of a puppy. My anxiety of boarding my family member left me the second I met her, I definitely recommend her and I think Graham already misses her love and care. Thank you Stacy!

Megan was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly caring and made sure our pups felt comfortable and loved the entire time. Her communication was fantastic, she kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Highly recommended! 🐾🐶

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Witmer home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Witmer.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Witmer sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
