“Mr. John took care of my first born fur baby very well! It’s nice to know I have someone reliable who can take care of my dog while I’m traveling. Will not be the first or last time booking with Mr. John 10/10!”

“Joselyn took great care of Sebastian! I appreciated the messages and photos to let me know how his stay was going, and it always looked like he was having tons of fun. Highly recommend!”
“Taylor took excellent care of my boy and was good about sending pictures and updates. She even went out of her way to make him some eggs (a favorite treat of his) when he was being picky with his dog food and not eating much of it. Ricky was well taken care of and I highly recommend Taylor and would use her again.”

“This was my first time leaving my pup behind with a stranger so I was super skeptical but Nelson and his family did great. He has great communication and compassion for animals, he sent me pictures throughout her stay and would message me back in a timely manner. He helped train on areas my furball needs improvement in and took her on daily walks. Thank you for all you do!! I will definitely be rebooking.”

“Definitely 💯 recommend Mr. Kyle. He is awesome 👏. He paid attention to detail and everything we asked and said. He played with our Millie and took our her on walks. He treated her like she was his own. Which we loved. We will definitely use his services again and will recommend him. Thank you 😊 Kyle”

About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was 13! I am currently on a Pre-Vet track while attending UC Merced. I have experience handling both cats and dogs in a veterinary clinic setting. I’ve worked with plenty of shelters where I would ensure the animals were well fed, socialized, and was able to create a clean/safe environment for them to the best of my abilities. I have 2 golden retriever dogs back in my hometown that I personally trained and raised since they were puppies when I lived with my parents. I am a full time student at UC Merced, however my classes are pretty condensed so I have a good amount of free time each day and all my evenings are 100% free. When I am entrusted with your furry friend I will always be sure to make time for their walks and keep to their feeding schedule! Weekends would be my most availability as it’s the days I don’t have classes. My house has a fenced backyard, and my housemates do have dogs and cats of their own and they are friendly towards other animals! If needed I’ll limit their interaction as I do have my own space in the house which is where your pet would be staying!
“Alessandra was so great! I was super nervous using this app for the first time, but feel truly lucky and blessed having found Alessandra! Upon meeting her, I was super comfortable and I felt as though I was leaving my dog in the care of a good friend or trusted family member. She was very attentive and communicative, I appreciated all the updates and photos while I was away. I have nothing but good things to say, and absolutely recommend her! She will def be my go-to dog sitter! She’s the best!”

“Lauren and her family looked after Scampi as their own. He was relaxed and seemed too relaxed to come home. He was not in a hurry! I will recommend Lauren and with past experiences I will give her A+! Thanks again Lauren.”

“Tracey is awesome! She took great care of my dog, kept me posted and sent me pictures. Chloe had great time at Tracey’s place, got a lot of love from her and her amazing family. I’ll always leave Chloe with Tracey when I go out to town.”

“Fantastic experience! Ximadra was super kind and took great care of my pup. Got lots of pictures and video updates throughout. Will definitely be asking her watch Otto again in the future.”
“I always feel very comfortable leaving my dogs with Raeana. She does a great job taking care of my pets. I highly recommend her and always will go back to her when I need her services.”

“This was my first time using the app and first time having my dog board at someone elses house. Cristin was amazing with communication and sending photos and updates about my dog. This was the first best experience my dog and I had. She is the best person to book if your ever looking for someone to care for your baby. She gives all the attention in the world to them and treats them like a princess. I am so happy my dog felt safe and comfortable he normally always nervouse but cristin made him feel welcomed and loved which made him open up.”

“This was the first time leaving out 3 fur babies with someone we didn’t know. Emmeline sent us pictures multiple times through each day on our 2 week vacation, and I could tell our dogs seemed relaxed and well cared for. We already have two extra weekends booked with Emmeline. Thank you so much for the wonderful care you provided.”

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
