“Jessica is super reliable, always on time and very responsive, providing lots of photos. I always feel comfortable having Jessica do drop in care visits for my cat. I know she'll be well cared for!”

“Sarah was amazing - hands down one of the best cat sitters. My cat is usually pretty anxious when I return from a trip, but he was so chill after his week with Sarah! She spent a lot of quality time with him, administered oral medication on time twice every day, and kept his litter box very clean (harder as he gets older). As an elderly cat, he has a number of special needs but she really gets cats, and was totally fantastic. Highly, highly recommend!”

“TAYLOR WAS AMAZING 10/10!!!!!!!! She was really sweet and respectful. She showed up on time did everything that I asked had no problems at all! Will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Sara was amazing with my 3 cats! One of my cats is insulin-dependent and requires injections twice daily. Sara was more than up for the task and came to my home ahead of time to go over all medication and feeding instruction so she was fully prepared. Will definitely be using her again! Thanks again Sara.”
“Jazlynne was amazing! We had her come and check on our dog Max while we are out of town for the weekend. This was our first time leaving our dog home alone for an overnight and we felt so comfortable the whole time knowing Max was in Jazlynne’s care. Great communication, friendly and most importantly you can tell that she genuinely cares about animals!”

“Adrienne did a great job. Both of our cats seemed to like her which is huge! She sent plenty of pictures and gave good updates. I will gladly book her again if we leave town for a few days”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life! I’ve had cats for as long as I can remember, as well as several dogs, so I’m no stranger to the responsibility of keeping animals. I currently work for a theatre company, but I'm usually available most weekdays. In the evening, I'm available before 5pm and after 9pm, but that changes from time to time. Everyone's pet care is different and I know a lot of animals benefit from having a familiar routine. So if you have a certain way of doing things, I'll do my best to keep that consistent for your pet!
“Easy communication and very flexible. My dog loved spending time with them. Justin went above and beyond always updating us about Annie with pics and how to visits went. Definitely booking again next time.”

“Lily provided excellent care for our cat Hobson. Our directions were followed completely and we enjoyed the daily photos. Hobson is in excellent condition after this booking. We are very grateful.”

“jessica went above and beyond for us and delivered exceptional care! my kitty loki so clearly loved her and she was so amazing, sending pictures and little notes each visit!! jessica you are amazing and we appreciate you so much! merry Christmas!!”

“McKenna was a GREAT pet sitter. She was on time and did all the tasks asked and even filled the bird feeders. Best of all, Stormy was excited to see her each day for food and pets. Her photos were so appreciated and so well done. I really appreciated her daily updates.”

“What a joy! Katie saved the day when I needed last minute Christmas cat care. She came through despite there being two snow storms! I appreciate all of the pictures she sent of Kitty Boy. She did a wonderful job keeping him fed and entertained. It was relaxing knowing he was in good hands, and equally great to come home to a spotless house and a happy cat. Thanks Katie :-)”

About: Hello! My name is Cailen and I am currently a Veterinary Assistant. I also have years of experience working at an animal shelter. I am reliable, patient, and passionate about animals. I can guarantee that I will take care of every pet as if they were my own! Growing up, I had a big beautiful dog named Mac. In my early adulthood, I have adopted/rescued a few cats named Nora, Baby, Liza, Mikey and Slater. I now have a sweet cat named Wanda. Over the last five years, I have frequently pet/home sat for friends and co-workers. I love both dogs and cats very much, and would be happy to work with either or both. I would love to chat with you about your pet(s) and their needs! I have a fixed schedule at work. I have availability before and after work, along with the 3 days off every week, Tuesday and the weekend. I care for my clients pets as if they are my own. I want to keep your pets as happy as possible while they are in my care. For dogs, I am comfortable doing walks/hikes and outdoor play. For cats, I will keep their areas clean and am willing to spend extra time to let them adjust to me and feel comfortable.
“Emily is an incredible animal caretaker! My two dogs are perfect, of course, but also have a ton of energy & can be a bit reactive in certain scenarios. From the first meet & greet, Emily asked thoughtful questions about my girls & made me feel at ease with their knowledge of dogs. Since then, they have been great at communicating any concerns as well as offering in depth general updates about my ladies during their visits. Emily is reliable, intuitive, trustworthy & brings so much joy to my sweet girls. I am grateful to have someone I can’t count on to not only show up, but to truly care for my animals!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
