“Christy is the best dog sitter I have ever had. Our dog is very old and needy. She was so sweet with him and sent me pics all weekend of things he was doing. She kept me updated on how he was eating and taking his meds because I was worried he wouldn't do either while we were gone. I’m so thankful I found her and I have already booked another pet sitting appointment with her. Hire her, you wont be disappointed!”

“Deanna had great communication with us. She sent pictures as well as update updates. She spent time with all animals and she left the house clean. I would love to have her sit with dogs again.”

“Hailey was exceptional!! She was on time, communicative, and extremely respectful. She sent me updates and pictures of my fur baby. I definitely would highly recommend her.”

“Taylor was absolutely wonderful with our three dogs. From the moment she arrived, she immediately connected with all of them, including our more challenging dog, which gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. She walked them twice a day, sent us photo updates, and was incredibly responsive whenever we texted. It was clear that she cared about making sure they were comfortable, happy, and well taken care of. When we returned, the dogs were relaxed and the house was in excellent condition. Taylor was responsible, thoughtful, communicative, and clearly great with animals. We would not hesitate to have her care for our dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

“Opal is my go-to girl! Highly recommended, she's great with big dogs, little dogs, yappy dogs, cry baby dogs like mine and my 90 lb red nose pitbull is always happy to see Opal! She probably gets more cuddles than she does from me!”

“Cara was amazing with my 11 month old golden puppy. She followed all the instructions and used to send pupdates everyday. Also while leaving on the last night she made sure the place is clean and things are in place. She stayed with him for about 20 days and was the reason we were able to enjoy our holiday. She’s a perfect choice as she treats every pet as her own”

About: I have cared for pets of all ages over the years and adopted a pup of my own about two years ago. He’s up to date on all vaccinations and loves other dogs. I have experience with giving medications to animals, caring for both puppies and older pups, and my apartment is hardwood floors so accidents aren’t a problem! I am a graduate assistant and in grad school. This means that I word pretty weird hours and I do a lot of work remotely. I’m home anywhere between 8 hours to 24 hours a day and can rearrange my schedule depending on the needs of the animal. There is a dog park nearby and it’s a safe area. For my pup, and pups I’ve boarded/cared for before, I traditionally feed them in the AM and give them plenty of water. We go to the dog park to start the day and get the energy out. I make sure to leave dog-safe toys on the floor so they know they have stuff to play with and I dog proof the apartment before I leave each time so they don’t get into things they shouldn’t. We go out later in the day to the dog park again to socialize or get the zoomies going. We go back and have a little more food or a snack and then hang out before going out on a walk to end the day. I'm working full-time in ministry so I have lots of time throughout the day to care for your loved one and will be gone no more than a few hours per evening for bible studies and groups. I take my dog, Tonka, out 5-6 times per day minimum and we love to go on walks and be outdoors. I have a large field directly behind my apartment and live in a very pet-friendly area tucked off the main road so your pup will enjoy lots of safe and supervised outside time! I allow animals on the furniture and keep all choking hazards up high. My dog has a knack for finding even the smallest things to mess with so I have good practice with keeping a safe home.
“Kyleigh took care of our post-op senior dogs over several days, and everything was wonderful. She gave them meds, removed the cones for meal time, and made sure they were snuggled and loved while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a more responsible and respectful caregiver. Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, from horses to reptiles! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and some of the others throughout. We recently lost our dog to cancer at just shy of 13 years old, and I’m currently volunteering as a dog walker at the animal shelter to help fill that void. With the limited hours available there, I thought we could try this avenue as well. I work full time, but my daughter and I would love to find a dog to walk Wednesday through Friday evenings, or weekends! We are available some weekends for dog/cat care while you’re away as well. We love walking dogs, playing fetch, petting them, and providing lots of love. We enjoy playing with cat toys, and giving them plenty of attention as well.

About: Animals have always been a vital part of my life. I currently live with 2 dogs( an Australian Cattle Dog and a Yorkie), 5 cats, a bearded dragon, 2 dart frogs and 4 fire bellied toads. I have owned special needs dogs and cats and am empathetic and understanding of the responsibility that come with that. I have worked with dogs and cats off all sizes, temperaments and backgrounds in animal shelters and veterinary hospitals. I am comfortable with making sure your pet receives any routine medication that he/she may need while under my care. Specialized diets are not a problem either. Your pets safety and health and your peace of mind is my top priority. Anything that I am capable of doing to help you and your pet I will I have very flexible availability this summer. My optimal time for check ins would be in the morning and early evenings. I am willing to work with what works best for your pet. I can give any required medication or supplements. I will spend my time playing or cuddling with your pet. I will play fetch with your dog if you have a fenced in yard and walk leash trained dogs. If you have a cat I will play with them or cuddle them, or just enjoy their company. Different pets have different needs and preferences for affection and play, I will follow their lead and not push them or make them uncomfortable. When introducing myself I will go slowly and let your pet guide that interaction. I speak to animals kindly and softly and handle and pet them gently.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 254 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Winner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Winner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Winner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Winner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winner. On Rover:
- 80% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
