About: I have taken care of cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits and even reptiles since I was a little kid growing up in Madison, Wisconsin--we had cats, dogs, rodents and reptiles, often all at once. As an adult, I've kept and cared for cats of all kinds, including ones needing medical care / injections. I truly am a cat person but love all animals. I'm currently a consultant-based worker, so my free time is kinda plentiful. I like playing with and caring for animals, and as a home owner myself, I am very capable of watching and caring for a home while someone is away. I use gentleness and love and the owner's instructions to care for animals in their homes. Currently I don't offer pet boarding, but am great at drop ins for feeding / treats and potty breaks / litter box clean 'n refresh.

“Amanda is THE BEST ANIMAL SITTER EVER!!! I do not just make blanket statements like this either, I only say this because I truly mean it. I have a household full of animals including my two pit mixes who can be nervous around new people. Amanda is like the dog whisperer with my one pup, Penny. In one meeting she calmed Penny down and made her trust her so much that my dog actually sat next to Amanda and leaned against her for affection. My dog had only done that with the people she is closest to until meeting Amanda, whom she clearly trusted. I hate leaving my animals for any length of time, but I felt safe doing so knowing my dogs were automaticly super comfortable with her. She sent us updates and pictures daily which helped ease my worried mind. She took incredible care of ALL of my babies and we were gone for a week. She stayed at our house which meani my animals weren't alone for huge chunk of the day, but that they got solid attention the whole time we were gone. I would and have recommended Amanda to everyone I know in need of a loving, gentle, compassionate and calm animal sitter who can work with ANY animal (including nervous dog mom's who worry about their pets easily). I now feel comfortable considering taking trips because we have someone I truly trust to take care of my babies for me while I'm away. About: I've cared for dogs and cats of every kind since I was 15 years old. I started working part-time at Meyer’s Tails Up Farm as a Kennel Technician. I continued to worked part-time at Meyer’s Kennel until I graduated High School and was able to join their team full time. As a Kennel Technicain, I was responsible for the daily care of animals in a kennel setting, including: Animal care: Feeding animals according to their dietary needs, providing fresh water, administering medications as directed by a veterinarian. Cleaning and sanitation: Maintaining cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas by cleaning, disinfecting, and replacing bedding regularly. Exercise and socialization: Walking dogs, providing playtime, and engaging animals in appropriate enrichment activities to maintain their physical and mental health. Health monitoring: Observing animals for signs of illness or distress, reporting any abnormalities to the veterinarian. Animal handling: Safely restraining animals for procedures like medication administration, grooming, or transport. Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of animal health, behavior, feeding schedules, and any medical treatments. I worked many years as a Technician and I was later promoted to Show Assistant. As a Show Assistant, I would travel with The Meyer’s the owners to Dog Shows to take care of the animals while we were on the road. The job responsibilities are pretty much the same as being a Kennel Technician, just doing it on the road instead of at the kennel. I also as a Show Assistant was responsible for getting the show dogs prepped and assisted the Meyer’s while they groomed the Show Dogs. We got them looking their best for when they entered the show ring. I pretty much have been around animals my whole life. Not just working with them but, growing up around them. Which is where my love for animal first begun. Both my parents also worked at Meyer’s . One of my parents was the Supervisor at the kennel and worked for them for over 20 years before passing away. My mom still is grooming for them at their other location for the past 17 years. My parents had 3 Soft Coat Weaton Terriers named Squash, Lucy, Apollo and 3 cat named Fisher,Ethel and Scooter. I participated in multiple different training classes with Lucy, Squash and Apollo with including agility classes. When I moved out of my parents house in 2011, I got my very 1st dog. A puppy named Wallie, he is a Shih Tzu poodle mix. Wallie and I completed training classes together and he got a certificate “Caine Good Citizen”. Wallie is still with us today. He is 14 years old and still going strong. My husband and I couple of years ago got our 2nd dog a Husky Puppy Named Daisy Mae. “She definitely kept us on our toes when she was a puppy. “She was a big ball of energy that was all over the place”. Now being older and with training she has calmed down alot . She is the sweetest, smartest and most loving 2 year old girl. We also have our 1 tuxedo cat Sokka, he is 7 years old. 2 Maine coon cats named Sunflower, she is 5 years old and Petals , he is 3 years old. I can’t forget about our two gold fish that my son won at the Byron Carnival 3 years ago Fishy and Rocky. I’m currently working part-time and I create my own schedule. I will have plenty of time for your furry friends. I am currently available on weekends as a sitter. You can schedule your furry friends walks. I will work my schedule around your furry friends needs. I will respect the clinic instructions and follow them in detail to ensure their home and the safety of their furry pets.
