About: I’ve had pets all my life. My family is full of animal lovers and they know they can rely on me if they need someone to care for their pet for any reason. I have experience with end of life care for cats, administering pills and fluids to cats, and feeding cats by mouth with a syringe. For example, one of my cats has a hyperthyroid and acid reflux and takes pills to manage it, and another has arthritis and takes a liquid medication orally to manage it. I primarily have experience caring for cats, dogs and hamsters. Petsitting is my focus, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets. I’m normally available for house sitting both weekdays and weekends, however I do have my own obligations and pets of my own to care for, so I must be able to leave for ~4 to 5 hours at some times. Due to this, I am not always able to accept requests for constant care (meaning pets who cannot be left alone for more than 1-3 hours, as an example). I spend as much quality time with my clients as I can, giving them plenty of love and attention. I love cuddling with them if they’re cuddlers and using their favorite toys when I play with them. I cannot take on higher energy dogs to care for, as I cannot provide them with the stimulation and exercise they need to thrive. In addition to Rover’s Guarantee, I am insured and bonded through PCI.

About: I have owned multiple dogs (Barnum, Tiara, Miles, and Peanut were my furry friends) from the time that I was two years old until I started college. I have also pet sat for friends many times throughout highschool. Those experiences gave me a deep understanding of the love and attention that dogs require. I love dogs and would be more than happy to help you care for your four legged furend when I am not in classes since I am a full time college student. I am patient, attentive, and exceedingly open to play time with your dog. It's my goal to make both you and your pet happy by walking, checking in on them, or staying with them. I'll follow any instructions I'm given. I also currently have 2 doggos of my own so I adore pets. I'm looking for ways to make extra money when not at work so any time I'm not working I'm available to help care for your furry family member Pets aren't just pets. They're family. I understand just how adored and important someone's pet is to them so I'll follow any care instructions and otherwise just make sure your fur baby is happy and feels comfortable and loved
About: Hi, I’m LaShay. I have over 20 years of experience caring for animals, and I treat every pet like they are my own. I don’t just provide pet care. I provide peace of mind. I’m known for being patient, attentive, and especially good with dogs who need extra understanding or have big personalities. I keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Clients trust me not only with their pets, but with their homes. I go above and beyond to leave everything clean, comfortable, and exactly how I found it, sometimes even better. Whether your pet needs playtime, quiet time, structure, or extra love, I adjust to their needs and follow your routine closely so they feel secure and stress free. In my care, pets are not just watched. They are loved, respected, and treated like family. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and structured environment where every pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for. About: I have always been around animals my whole life. I got my first dog at 11, and he’s still around and is the love of my life. I’m currently enrolled in college and only working part time, so I’m looking to see if I can help others out like how they’ve helped me. I will feed your pets, take them out or let them use the restroom, I will love and give them as much attention as possible.

“I’ve used Rover in the past and after an initial meeting, have had great luck with dog walkers. Michelle is even a step above those walkers. Her kindness and patience in allowing my timid dog to get used to her slowly, over a few visits, was such a relief. Michelle’s a rockstar! 😊”

About: I have had dogs since I was born. My family has always had a dog. For 18 years, I had my own dogs. I’ve also watched friends and family member’s dogs. I will go to their houses and let their dogs out for them, walk them, etc. I work part time at a local elementary school as a TA. I only work 5.5 hrs a day, so I have plenty of time to take care of your pet. I have a fenced in yard and a 10 year old that would love to play with your dog if I’m not! I can put them in a crate if need be. I’d love to take them for a ride too! If I go to your house, I will respect your property and your dog’s things.
About: I have been an avid animal lover since birth!! I have a wide range of experience with animal care-taking. I have babysat a farm, volunteered at shelters, and have had my own pets. Whatever your needs, I promise I may have already done! I am able to drop-in early mornings, but will do most walking/care after 12pm some weekdays due to school. I volunteer at the Prairie land conservancy, so some random times I may be busy, but I promise for good reason!! I am available most weekends. Your pet’s safety is really important to me. I make sure they’re always supervised and comfortable. I follow instructions closely, including feeding times, walks, crate routines, and any medications.

“Amanda is super kind and flexible. My dog Lucy absolutely adores walks/but can also be a bit difficult. Amanda has been accommodating and great for both of us. Thank you!”

About: I have lots of years of animal care, animal sitting and house sitting. I've walked dogs of all sizes, big, small, etc. I've been doing pet care since I was about 14 years old, and use to house sit for a close friend of mine for years where I would feed the dogs, let them out to use the restroom, and stay to play with them. Now that I've moved to the Rockford area, I'm looking to establish trust, and offer the best care for your fur babies. I work full time, Monday through Friday. I can let animals out for potty breaks and food bowl checks after 6pm CST on the weekdays, or even late evening walks. Otherwise, weekends are completely open for walks, housesitting, and even overnights. I always make sure that your pet is safe, whether you have a fence, crate, or leash to keep them on. Before leaving, I'll make sure that the house is locked up, and that the pet is safe in their crate if needed. I do a quick last check to top off the water, food, and I'll provide plenty of updates if you wish to know how your dog or cat is doing.
“Leah is such a great dog walker for Millie! She really helped Millie open up around new people and always loved her days with Leah. She is so kind and friendly and Millie absolutely adored her.”

About: For 12 wonderful years, I had the joy of loving my own dog, and for the past decade, I’ve been capturing the personalities of pets through photography even volunteering to photograph foster animals to help them find forever homes. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something I can’t imagine life without. Now, I’d be honored to give your furry friend the same love, attention, and joy I gave my own keeping tails wagging and hearts happy while you’re away. I currently work at a local middle school. I plan to offer pet services on days I am off work and our school breaks. Perfect for any vacations you have planned, I will be available. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I’ll follow your instructions closely, keep them leashed and secure during walks, and make sure doors and gates are always locked behind me. I’ll check food, water, and comfort levels at every visit — and send you photo updates so you can see their happy face while you’re away. You can trust me to treat your home and your pet with the same care and respect I give my own.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Winnebago. On Rover:
- 100% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
