“Heather was amazing! We loved the update cards she sent letting us know how our kitties were doing. Those cards were the perfect highlight when we first woke up and before we went to bed while we were on vacation. Can’t recommend Heather enough!”
“My dogs loved Michelle! I have three pups, of which two are rescues. She did so well with them! She was also timely which was a huge plus. I will look forward to booking her again!”

“We just can’t say enough good things about Sheryl! She has taken care of us numerous times now with great attention to detail. She spends a long time with Ace making sure he gets plenty of attention. He does not like people he doesn’t know but comes right to her and clearly enjoys her care. Sheryl sends amazing updates each day. We just seriously could not ask for a better caregiver!”

“Madison was great with my cats while I was gone for a long weekend! She was extremely flexible with their specific individual dietary needs and went above and beyond with their care! I will definitely be a returning customer :)”
About: I started volunteering with animals at 16 with my local animal shelter and my love for working with them soared from there. I have ridden horses, trained dogs (basic obedience and service work), and have cared for horses, small animals, reptiles, birds, rodents and fish. No pet, too big or small, has been a challenge for me. I own three large dogs! Two mixes and a purebred husky! I also own a Quaker Parrot! I currently am living in Aiken, SC. I work at a family farm in the mornings and evenings. I also work a 7am - 2pm barn job on Saturdays! If you give me enough notice, I will gladly take off from one of my jobs to accommodate your pet accordingly! If there is EVER an emergency that comes into play that for some reason I can’t make it to a previously scheduled and planned visit, my Mom steps in and gets the job done. Never will your pet be ignored, forgotten, or neglected. I’m a person, that unless you give me freedom, will follow your exact routine and protocol for your animal. Going outside of a pet’s comfort zone can be unsafe and throw your pet off. Keeping your pet happy and safe is the main goal.
“Shaniese did a great job taking care of our dogs! She took our dog Holly for a walk. She also sent me great pictures of my fur babies while I was away. We really appreciate her giving loving care to our dogs.”

I need a few hours daily dedicated to working training horses, timing can be flexible, so your pets will be my focus. No matter the service, your animals will be treated like they are my own. From my senior rescue dog, to my young nervous aussie, all the way to my cat and horses — all my animals are treated with respect, love, care, and patience. About: Having shared my home with every kind of pet since I was a child, I bring a deep, intuitive understanding to pet care that goes beyond the basics. This extensive experience has given me a special skill for navigating the unique challenges of both ends of the spectrum: I excel at the positive reinforcement needed for training energetic puppies and have the gentle, patient touch required to provide comfort and specialized care for senior pets. When you entrust me with your furry family member, you're choosing a sitter who offers not just reliability, but a genuine, experienced friendship for your pet I have the wonderful luxury of a completely open schedule, which allows me to make pet care my top priority. This means your pet gets my undivided attention, and I can be there for them consistently throughout the day, every day. My approach to in-home pet care is to provide seamless, consistent care while maintaining your pet's normal routine. I minimize their stress by keeping them in their familiar environment. If needed to stay in your own home. If they were to come to my home: I have 3 young kids, however if necessary to be away from kids we could do in your home. When pets stay with me, they become part of my family. My home is a safe, loving, and pet-centric environment where they receive constant attention.
About: I’ve had animals my entire life - we’ve always had cats, dogs and horses! My experience ranges from 4-H and training my Christmas present (a Great Dane puppy) by myself at 11 to Pony Club with my first horse at age 13. I started taking care of other’s pets when I was 13 and worked at a veterinarian’s office in Montana where I grew up. In college my main source of income was petsitting and babysitting, so I have a lot of experience with dog walking, exercising horses, long term stays, etc. I work remotely full-time as a recruiter for a study abroad company. My schedule is very flexible so it’s easy for me to take breaks during the day! I unfortunately am not able to have pets in my home. I take care of any pet like I would my own, with patience, compassion, attention to detail, and a lot of pride.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
