“melanie was amazing :) with this being our first time leaving our benji with a sitter she was so kind to answer all our questions she was patient and sent us updates along with pictures which was very comforting to know benji was in good hands . she’s the best !!”

“Bondi clearly enjoyed his weekend with Samantha! I received regular photos of him enjoying time in the yard with the other dogs and he was exhausted when he got home. He can be mischievous at times and Samantha took it in stride. We appreciate her care!”
“Excellent sitter. Had a family emergency pop up during the boarding and she was incredibly accommodating, it was such a relief to know we didn’t have to worry about Barney during such a hard time.”

About: I grew up on a farm and have been taking care of all animals my whole life. Pets are very relaxing and make me incredibly happy. I’m a stay at home mom and open to any day and most times. I accept last minute requests and if there’s anything special they need. I have one dog and 2 cats. My backyard is fenced if you need me to bring your fur baby to my home. I love taking time to cuddle and talk to them.
“I highly recommend Jennifer she does an amazing job we will definitely be having her watch our fur babies again if we ever need someone, she kept us updated and sent us lots of pictures and always made sure the dogs had what they needed!! Thank you!”

“I am a repeat customer with Susie Wessel, who is exceptional with DJ, my dog. From our initial meet-and-greet, it was evident she is both highly professional and deeply knowledgeable about animals. She took time to learn about DJ’s individual needs and explain her care philosophy, which immediately put my mind at ease. Susie sends wonderful pictures and updates, allowing me to relax and enjoy my time away. Seeing DJ happy, calm, and well looked after was the perfect reassurance. Her gentle, caring, and experienced approach left no doubt that DJ was in the best possible hands. If you want a sitter who truly treats your pet like their own and goes above and beyond, I can’t recommend Susie enough!”

About: I’ve been a passionate dog lover and hands-on pet owner my entire life, with over 25+ years of practical experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Because I currently do not have any resident pets of my own, my home offers a quiet, stress-free environment where your dog gets my full, undivided love and attention! As a dedicated full-time host, your pet will enjoy constant supervision, structured routines, and plenty of individual care. I specialize in hosting crate-trained, spayed/neutered adult dogs who thrive in a calm, safe setting. For maximum safety, all guest dogs are accompanied on a secure leash during outdoor yard breaks. Whether relaxing indoors or enjoying individual play, I treat every guest dog with the exact same care and attention as my own! Because I provide full-time, in-home pet care, my daily schedule completely revolves around my guest dogs! My routine is structured around consistent check-ins, regular scheduled potty and stretch breaks, and supervised playtime. Because I am home all day, your dog will never be left unattended for long stretches. A Typical Day Includes: Morning: A bright start with an outdoor potty walk on a secure leash, fresh water, and breakfast served right in their designated feeding or crate spaces. Midday: Regular indoor playtime, companionship, and scheduled afternoon yard breaks. Evening: Dinner, a relaxing evening potty walk, and settling down for a quiet, restful night in their comfortable crate. Whether it’s a weekday or a busy weekend, my schedule is entirely flexible and focused on keeping your dog safe, happy, and on a comfortable routine! Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. My 1,300 sq. ft. home provides a clean, calm, and welcoming environment tailored specifically for guest dogs. Here is how I care for guest pets in my home: Dedicated Crate & Rest Spaces: To ensure every dog feels secure and gets proper downtime, I require owners to bring their dog's familiar crate. Crates are kept in dedicated rest areas for quiet bedtimes, mealtime separation, and brief quiet periods. 100% Leash-Guided Yard Time: Safety comes first! My backyard has open sections, so all guest dogs are walked on a secure leash or long line for all potty breaks and stretch sessions. Your dog will never be left unsupervised outside. Zero Territorial Stress: Since I do not currently have any resident pets, your dog gets my full, undivided attention without any resident dog friction. Structured & Safe Supervision: With a strict limit of 3 to 4 guest dogs at a time, I keep group dynamics peaceful and stress-free. Dogs are fed separately in their own spaces to eliminate food tension, and I maintain regular updates and photos for owners throughout the stay. I treat every dog staying under my roof with the utmost care, respect, and family affection!

“Joyce and Robert were great to work with! We contacted them with short notice and they were able to accommodate our timeline seamlessly. Joyce sent me texts and picture updates of our dog throughout the weekend and he seemed just as happy as he is at home with us. Joyce and Robert really cared about our pup like he was their own and that really helped give us peace of mind so we could enjoy our time away knowing he was getting the attention he needed.”

“I had a leave to the east coast with in hours due to a family medical emergency and Laura responded to my messages with sense of urgency and was kind and flexible with arranging Aura to stay with her. She has a nice backyard Aura loved and Aura got her daily walks on the streets and even to the mall one time. Aura loved staying with Laura and will definitely sit Aura with her again.”

About: Hello! I’ve been a dog sitter for over 12 years now. From assisting with the birth of puppies and kittens, to helping our older babies get out of their bed, and holding their paw while they take their last breaths, I’ve done it all. I truly have a passion for animals and want to provide them with the best life possible. After all, they are our best friends! I have experience with epileptic, pregnant and in heat, sick, physically disabled, and as I mentioned, new borns and older dogs! I have a very open schedule! I’m free in the mornings, nights, middle of the day, and on weekends. whenever you need me, I’m here! I never let the dogs out without a leash at my house, no matter how experienced they are with the area or how well they listen. Their safety is my biggest priority. Let me know your preferences and guidelines to follow!
“Sarah was great with our cat who has anxiety and had never stayed overnight at a sitter's home. She even allowed me to extend our cat's stay for a little longer due to unforeseen circumstances. She was very sweet and we appreciate her looking after our fur baby!”

“Hailey was the sweetest and kindest. She was extremely responsible and took car of our Maggie like she was her own. We highly recommend Hailey and will definitely be reaching out to her again for overnights with our pup!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Windsor home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Windsor.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Windsor sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
