So thankful to Megan for squeezing us in when we had to leave town suddenly for a family emergency. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our pup would be with a familiar sitter and well taken care of.

Laura has been the best house/dog sitter we have ever had. She went beyond her dog sitting duties in every way. She left our home spotless, took Goose to the vet, sent daily updates and photos and looked after our home as if it was her own. I can’t recommend her enough and if needed we would have her back in an instant.

Oh my goodness, our family has been blessed to have found Julie! She took such excellent care of our 2 pups: Walking them early before it got too hot, keeping on our schedule and being home for the majority of the day. My youngest pup is timid with new people and is deaf. But somehow Julie won her over as seen in pictures of them cozy together: ) Julie communicated with updates, pictures and questions. In addition to all of this, Julie watered my plants and left my home in the same condition that I left it. That made returning home after 8 days away so much easier. Thank you for everything Julie!

We had Staci stay with our Pittie, Jax, in our home, for 15 days. She came over for a meet and greet before we departed and Jax took to her immediately. Staci was dependable, neat, and trustworthy. She took such great care of Jax, even let him sleep with her. She sent us regular updates and pictures while we were gone. We came home to find not only a happy dog, but a clean house too. I would definitely rebook with Staci and would recommend her to anyone.

Julie was excellent! Our girl Moxie suffers from separation anxiety and Julie knew how to support her while we were gone. In addition, our house was so clean you wouldn’t have known anyone else had been there. Thank you, Julie!

About: I am a huge animal lover! I have cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, activity levels, and many that need a little extra love and attention. My husband and I have three dogs: a beagle mix and two extra large labs, so I am comfortable caring for dogs that pull, prefer to keep to themselves, and even those that have separation anxiety. I am a young professional that works full time but my schedule is pretty flexible. I would love to drop by for a potty break and play session during the day or in the evening! I understand that trusting your fur baby and your home to a stranger is a big decision. That’s why I am committed to following your explicit directions and sending lots of photos and updates during my time with your pup! I will care for your pup and your home like it is my own! I do not bring my dogs along so I can give yours my undivided attention.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was 10. Whether it be my own or my neighbors. I love to take walks and I treat all dogs with love as if they were my own. I’m currently available for the summer due to the fact that I’m home from college! I can walk anytime of the day and I’ll update my availability frequently in case anything comes up:) When walking dogs I think it’s important to always have poop bags on hand out of respect for neighbors and such. I also love to spoil them with a little treat after as well!

About: My jack, Russell terrier, Chili passed away in August of 2022. The house feels empty without a dog running around, but I’m not quite ready to be a full-time permanent mom just yet. However, I would love to take care of your loved one in My Home, and the house would not feel so empty. I have a fenced in yard. It’s not very big but plenty of room for a small, medium dog. I make your pet my first priority. I used to work from home and that was great because I was able to be with the pups all day and night. I now will be in the office on most week days. I do not work far from home so if needed, I can pop in at lunchtime. I have a fenced yard. Your fur babies are welcome on my furniture and the bed but if you prefer them to be crated, that is fine too.

Pet care is a natural part of my daily life because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I make time each day for walks, playtime, feeding, and giving pets the attention and care they deserve. About: I’ve had dogs my whole life (sometimes 6 at a time!) and currently I’m a proud dog mom to my rescue pup, Junior. He’s taught me a lot about patience, love, and managing special needs like administering meds and dog reactivity. I take pet care seriously (but always with joy!) and treat every animal like my own. Whether your pup loves long walks, chill couch time, or just needs someone calm and reliable, I’ve got you covered. I genuinely adore animals and would be so happy to care for yours! I use the Rover app myself for walks and boarding, so I understand the importance of communication and finding a sitter that you can trust. I am a freelance chef and took the next 3 months off work to visit family in Charleston, so my schedule is very open and flexible. I respect the owners care instructions to ensure a smooth transition for your pet. I log everything on the app to ensure trust and safety protocols .

My dog has a lot of anxiety around new people but she was very comfortable very quickly with Julia who did a great job of taking care of my pup. She went out of her way to come early in order to meet the dog and get an idea of her routine and communicated really well with me. I would 100% book with Julia again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Windom Corner

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,438 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Windom Corner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Windom Corner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Windom Corner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Windom Corner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Windom Corner. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
