About: With 5 years of regular pet sitting experience, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages - from bouncy puppies and playful kittens to my true area of expertise: senior pets. I understand the unique needs that come with each life stage, from puppy energy and socialization to the extra patience, gentle handling, and attentiveness that senior pets often require (think mobility issues, medication schedules, and just plain more TLC). Every pet in my care gets individualized attention tailored to their age, temperament, and routine. Whether it’s a high-energy young dog needing exercise and mental stimulation, or an older cat who just wants a quiet lap and consistent care, I adjust my approach to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I work from home so my schedule allows flexibility for lots of walks and potty breaks. My personal daily routine included exercise and regular walks, I’d love to include your pet! My home is one level and my yard is fenced in allowing for convenience to get outside easily and stay safe. Pets are welcome to roam free in my home, but happy to work with any crates or other training needs to stay on track.

About: I've been around dogs since I was 10 years old and have always had a love for animals. I have a dog of my own, so I understand the care, patience, and attention they need every day. I've also cared for dogs for friends and family, including feeding, walking, playtime, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I'll treat every dog like they're part of my own family and make sure they receive plenty of love and care. Pet care fits very well into my routine. I'm currently finishing my BSN through an online program, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I'm available most mornings, afternoons, and many evenings, allowing me to provide plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I'm happy to work with pet owners to accommodate their schedules and make sure their pets receive the best care possible. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions carefully while making sure each pet gets plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. I understand that pets are often most comfortable in their own environment, so I strive to provide reliable, loving care that helps them feel safe while their owners are away. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.

About: I am a Division 1 soccer player that manages time very well. With that, I am very active and responsible. I grew up with dogs my whole life and had to end up taking care of 2 of my senior dogs. They were a lot to take care of but, that didn’t matter to me as long as they were feeling loved. We have adopted 2 puppies within the past 3 years, so I do understand the commitment it takes to keep them in order. I have taught my puppies tricks, like sit, shake, spin and lay down! I do work part-time in the restaurant business so my shifts only last 4-5 hours max. I am very active, so I get my puppies walked usually 2-3 times a day. Whenever I am pet sitting, I make the pet my priority. I usually plan my schedule on what I have to do around the pet I am sitting. I provide safe, loving care tailored to each pet’s routine. In clients’ homes, I keep their routine consistent with feeding, walks/litter care, and lots of attention, plus regular updates for peace of mind.

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 9 years old when I got my first cat named Midnight. I have had Australian Shepherds, dachshunds, Bengal cats, a Pomeranian (who will be 14 this year). You name it I have probably cared for it! I just absolutely love animals and always tell people I prefer them over humans lol I have been working from home for 6 years and am able to easily manage watching over fur babies while I work. I get an hour for lunch as well which gives me plenty of time during my work schedule to go for walks if the weather permits. I have a nice fenced in backyard, a safe neighborhood and no kids. My dog is definitely a spoiled princess and I wouldn't have it any other way. I would love to spoil your baby as well!

About: My parents showed, bred, and raised Dobermans when I was a child. As an adult, our family has had cats and hunting dogs. I understand how important it is to be able to trust someone to take care of your pet when you are away from home and will treat your pet with the care I would want for my own. I have plenty of experience taking care of animals and lots of time to play with your cats or dogs when you have to be away from them. I have three dogs and three cats that mingle well together. I will be happy to drop in to walk your dog and /or play with all you furry pets while you are away.

About: I bring extensive professional experience in animal care and behavior, including years in shelter leadership and hands-on behavior work with fearful, anxious, and reactive animals. My background includes behavior assessment, stress reduction, enrichment planning, and individualized care for dogs who struggle with transitions, confinement, or unfamiliar people. I am especially comfortable working with dogs who need structure, patience, and clear communication rather than force or correction. I prioritize low stress handling, predictable routines, and meeting dogs where they are emotionally, not just physically. My goal is always to keep animals safe, supported, and understood while their people are away. I maintain a flexible, well-managed schedule that allows me to accommodate a wide range of client needs, including weekdays, weekends, and varying visit times, with appropriate advance notice. I care for pets by balancing structure with relationship-building. I focus on creating predictable routines, clear communication, and calm expectations while also prioritizing rapport, confidence, and emotional safety. I pay close attention to body language and stress signals and adjust care in real time to meet each pet where they are emotionally. Rather than forcing compliance, I help animals work through fear, overstimulation, or uncertainty at a pace they can handle. Whether in my home or a client’s home, my goal is to create a low-stress environment where pets feel safe, understood, and supported, which allows genuine progress and trust to develop. My pets at home enjoy structure along with play and lots of quiet time. My dog, Albany, enjoys finding hidden treats in a fenced backyard. My three cats, Duchess, Wanda, and Addie, enjoy plenty of naps, wand toy play time, and many hours of cuddling and watching tv.

About: Hi! I’m Josh, and I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or just relaxing with a companion, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m dependable, patient, and attentive to every dog’s unique personality and routine. I’ll follow your care instructions carefully, provide plenty of updates with photos, and make sure your pup gets the attention, exercise, and affection they deserve. My goal is for you to have complete peace of mind, knowing your best friend is in caring and reliable hands. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! [9:01 PM]Hi, I’m Josh! I’ve always loved being around dogs because they’re more than just pets—they’re family. I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so my goal is to make sure both you and your pup feel comfortable from the very beginning. I’m the kind of person who enjoys getting outside for walks, playing fetch, giving belly rubs, or just relaxing with a dog that wants some company. Every dog is different, so I’ll take the time to learn their routine, personality, and what makes them happiest. I’m reliable, patient, and pay attention to the little things. Whether it’s sticking to a feeding schedule, giving medication exactly as instructed, or making sure your dog gets the exercise and love they need, I’ll care for them the same way I’d want someone to care for my own. You’ll get plenty of photo and video updates while you’re away, so you can relax knowing your best friend is safe, happy, and in good hands. I’d love the chance to meet you and your dog and become someone you can count on whenever you need a trusted sitter. I work full-time at Amazon, which has helped me become dependable, organized, and great at managing my time. When I’m not at work, I dedicate my time to caring for the dogs in my care. I keep my schedule up to date and only accept bookings when I know I can give your pet the attention they deserve. Whether it’s before work, after work, or on my days off, your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my priority. I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, love, and regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, and I don’t take that lightly. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and at home from the moment they arrive. I provide a clean, secure environment where your pet will get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’ll follow your dog’s routine just the way you do, keep a close eye on them, and treat them with the same love, patience, and care I’d want for my own pet. I want you to feel completely at ease, knowing your furry family member is in caring, trustworthy hands.

Sydney does a great job with our pets. She has spent the night at our house and the dog has really gotten to know her. This past trip we were gone 12 days and she was already booked but she came in every other day to check on our aging cat. She’s dependable and trustworthy. I highly recommend her.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Wilmington stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilmington. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
