About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. My best friend is my 15-year-old senior dog, so I have lots of experience giving extra love, patience, medication, and specialized care to older pets. I also take care of my two cats every day and have experience dog walking and dog sitting for others. On top of that, I’ve volunteered at animal shelters and genuinely love spending time with animals of all kinds. I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like they’re part of the family. Pet parents have incredibly demanding schedules and I have lot of availability to be there for you and your pet! I will be available monday through friday 6am-6pm I have the experience needed to take care of your dog by feeding, walking, and keeping them company. I have a dog at home that has taught me how to be caring and compassionate to all dogs that I look after!

About: I have been a dog and cat owner my whole life. Now that I am mostly retired I am available to care for your babes when you are unable to. Your place or mine. I volunteer for dog and cat rescues so I have a lot of knowledge and experience. I am retired so I have lots of time to play. I walk in my neighborhood every morning and evening and would love to walk with a friend. I don't currently have any pets of my own so there will be no issues with unfriendly competition. I know how important communication is regarding your pets.

About: I have raised and cared for animals since I was little, animals are my passion. So! I turned it into my career, I have been working with dogs professionally now for 5 years now. I am a dog trainer, I previously owned my own doggy daycare for 3 years and I have been pet sitting for several years. Pet care is my career along with teaching children dance, I have pretty open schedule and give my all when spending time with your fur babies. While visiting with your babies, depending on their individual needs I will do anything from just sitting there a snuggling with your babies, to taking them on a walk, doing a training session and of course feeding and distributing medication. I can also clip nails and give baths if proper tools are provided.

About: Will provide all necessary care for your dogs needs. I’m married no children , have had pets all my life and I dog sit for my friends for years why not get paid for what I love to do. I had a cocker for 13 years, American Bulldog, and English Bulldog, current have a English Bulldog puppy. I am also in the medical field and will be able to handle emergencies if they happen. I don’t believe in animal cruelty and I feel sometimes people need to get out or have to run errands and the dogs shouldn’t have to be locked up when they can be loved on while the owners handle business. This is something I enjoy and not trying to get rich.

About: I have two dogs of my own and have previously worked as a dog-walker, so I am comfortable handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments in different environments. My schedule is open all summer! I do share a car with my brother, but that shouldn’t affect my availability too much. I have a few trips planned later in the summer. First and foremost, I always let the animal approach me first. This is important, especially for those more skittish, for building a relationship and making sure the animal is comfortable with me entering their space.

About: I have loved and handled pets/animals of all kind since I was a toddler with no fear in sight. Outside of my own pets, most of my family and friends have always had some sort of pet that I have watched or taken care of- dogs, cats, snakes, fish, turtles, ferrets, lizards, some of everything. My grandfather also had a farm with horses, chickens and cattle that my brother and I helped him take care of. I am a substitute teacher, so I don’t work everyday. This also means that I have the summer and holidays off so my flexibility is very high. If I am in someone else’s home caring for their pet, I follow all rules set by the owner for both the pet I’m watching and myself. If I am watching a pet at my home, I make sure everything is very neat and clean so there are no health hazards and they can’t get into things they shouldn’t.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 5,579 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Wilmer. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Wilmer. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Wilmer.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wilmer. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
