“Lisa is the bees knees!!! She was so communicative and accommodating. I was nervous but in a pinch and needed to put my trust in someone to watch a very special member of my family. She exceeded any and all expectations I could have had. She was personable and friendly to me too. What an absolute pleasure. Thank you Lisa!!!!!”

“Cheyenne was very gracious and respectful dealing with my schedule changes. Also, my Willow came home in a happy (and sleepy) mood! I can tell she got lots of play time in!”

“This was the first time my dog, Tulie, has gone to a “strangers” house to stay. I thought she might have separation anxiety, as she is quite attached to me. My worries were dashed as she quickly settled in with the family. Rachel sent daily updates with pictures and a cute video of her daughter playing with Tulie. I definitely would highly recommend Rachel and Ivan for dog sitting.”

“Our little dog’s experience with Daniel was excellent. Daniel is warm and loving to his dogs and to visiting dogs as well. His two dogs are friendly, senior and low key. Our dog came home relaxed and clearly well cared for. I would certainly come back!”

“Allison did a wonderful job taking care of our dog, Lucy. She and Dave have a large fenced-in yard and took Lucy on several walks. She was excellent at communicating, including sending photos and videos. Will definitely hVd her board Lucy again!”

“Piper enjoyed her stay at Caroline’s. Our dog was well cared for and had a lot of fun with Caroline’s dogs and family. Communication was great too! Thank you for taking care of Piper!”

“Heather was great with our dog, Rosie! She sent picture updates each day and gave our dog plenty of exercise. It gave us so much peace of mind to know Rosie was taken care of while we were away--hope we can book with you again, Heather! Thanks for everything.”

“Angela has a great fenced in back yard, perfect for my Chuli to run around and play in. She sent photo updates regularly, and her pup was a great playmate for mine. It was only the second time Chuli had stayed away, but she came back home happy and healthy.”

“Peter did an amazing job! He sent pictures and took my pup on multiple walks! He was super flexible on pickup and drop off times too! We will be using him again for sure!”

“Again, I am so grateful for the care provided by Kimberly, Jeremy and their family. I am blessed to have their availability when I have to travel for work.”

“Stephanie and Scott took very good care of my dog who took a liking to both of them. I had several pictures about Lucy’s visit and was very pleased to see her say thanks when we left. Highly recommended.”

“Lorretta was wonderful! She was so communicative, sent lots of pictures and made sure my pup was safe and happy. She made sure our dog ate his meals, took him on plenty of walks, and included him in her day to day activities. We were visiting from out of state for a family reunion and were unable to have our dog stay with us. She was so accommodating and let us stop by multiple times to take our dog on day trips. Finding Lorretta allowed us to have our pup be apart of our vacation which was so important to us. We will 100% be using her in future years when visiting Traverse City!”

“Sally was absolutely phenomenal!!! We truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better to watch our pups. She was so easy to communicate with, and even sent us picture updates throughout the weekend of how each of our two dogs were doing. We have a black lab and a Maltese and her home was perfect for them both. It meant a lot to us to know that our dogs were being well taken care of while we were away for the weekend! We will absolutely be contacting Sally again in the future for any dog sitting needs.”

“Cheryl and Sean were amazing! They were beyond accommodating and so great at communication. They sent pictures and updates the whole time our pup was with them, which is always appreciated. They’re in a great location, which makes it very convenient to explore Traverse City. Really grateful for their help!”

About: I have grown up with both cats and dogs, and then when I was able to I had two large breeds of my own for many years. Currently, we have a 2-yr old Bernese mountain dog and an older cat at home. I’m a teacher with a very open availability during summer and would love to fill it with taking care of your dogs - any breed but happy to provide confidence for high energy larger breeds. I’m a full-time teacher, so if you’re booking during the summer my availability is pretty widely open to meet your pets needs. If it’s during the school year, the weekends are there for loving your pet. I love to walk and exercise and am happy to take your dog for long walks as needed. Alternatively if they’re at my house, they can play with our Bernese Mountain Dog in the backyard for endless hours! Our yard is fenced in and the gates are always locked.

“I reached out to Megan as a last minute booking for our two pups. She was able to take them and was even flexible when car trouble made us very late. She sent photos and updates of them while she had them which helped me feel better. Bella and Strawberry, both under 25 lbs, made themselves at home with 100+lb doggies. Bella is still young and had lots of fun playing with the big doggies. She’s also escaped from our house a couple times. Megan’s yard is very secure. I highly recommend Megan to take care of your pups!!!”

“Kendra was awesome!!! I can definitely tell my Lucia was comfortable and not stressed. My dog was clean, her crate was clean and Kendra provided just enough communication when we were gone.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats and have experience caring for multiple pets in my home and around family pets. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, cleaning up after pets, and making sure they feel safe and cared for. I’m reliable, patient, and genuinely enjoy being around animals. I treat every pet like my own and always make sure they feel comfortable and loved. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I have experience caring for pets throughout my life, so I’m used to building feeding, cleaning, and check in times into my day. I’m able to take care of pets anytime on the days I put. I make sure to stay consistent with each pet’s schedule and give them reliable care and attention every visit. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and calm environment for both dogs and cats. I make sure all doors and windows are secure and that the space is free from anything unsafe. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks for dogs, litter box care for cats, and any specific instructions from the owner. I always supervise pets while they are in my care and make sure they feel comfortable, relaxed, and at home. My goal is to treat every pet like my own and keep them safe and well cared for at all times.
“GusGus definitely gives Coleen 5 stars, and so do I! Our little rescue guy spent 4 days with Coleen and her husband and was happy and relaxed the entire time. He got lots of cuddles, walks and care. It was our first time with Coleen and surely will not be the last. The communication was clear, the atmosphere warm and friendly and the loving care was evident.”

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
