“Joanna's love and compassion for animals is very evident. She welcomed my dog with open arms and a warm heart. I knew my sweet girl was being well taken care of while in Joanna's care.”

“Amanda was the best dog sitter we could have asked for. We especially appreciated the updates and pictures she sent us, which made us feel at ease and happy. She has a beautiful home with plenty of room and backyard space, and our dogs felt right at home with her:-) This is our first experience with Rover, and feel super confident that if all sitters are half as wonderful as Amanda, we’ll be using this service more often! Thanks so much for taking care of our babies while we hiked around Mt Rainier!!:-)”

“I was nervous about leaving my little guy for two nights but Jeff and Sony were great. He came back home happy, healthy and very clean. Their fenced in areas were a treat for him and I know he loved being able to spend so much time safely outdoors. I appreciated Jeff immediately assessing his behavior which means he is doing the same with all other dogs. I will definitely be booking them again!”

“We could not be more thrilled with Jeremy and Lauren! After the "pet resort" we were planning to board our sweet girl Lexie at turned out to be more kennel than resort, we reached out to Jeremy and Lauren about watching Lexie over the Thanksgiving holiday. They were very amenable to us coming by before booking to see how Lexie would do with their dogs (spoiler alert: she loved them!) and for us to see their space. It was the longest we'd ever left our girl before, and they kindly answered any and every question these nervous pet-parents had. When it came time to drop her off, she was having so much fun in their backyard she didn't notice we were gone. While out of town, Jeremy sent a photo everyday and it was clear that Lexie was having a blast. Which meant we were able to enjoy our vacation WAY MORE than I expected!! My mom was actually picking Lexie up, and arranging that was easy. Lexie came home happy but worn out from playing non-stop during her stay. Can not say enough wonderful things about Jeremy and Lauren. They care for your pets like their own. Will use them again... and again... and again... anytime we need somewhere for Lexie to stay. Our only concern: Lexie will end up liking their house more than ours!!”

“Lucy had the best time staying with Gary and his family! Gary was nice to send a picture daily so I could see what Lucy was up to. And he would keep me posted on how she was doing. Lucy enjoyed the farm setting with plenty of space to run and play with lots of farm animal friends. Gary took excellent care of my dog and I know she was comfortable and enjoyed her time with him and his family. Feel good knowing your dog is really well cared for with Gary! I look forward to Lucy staying here again.”

“They were AMAZING and loved my sweet pup so well! The communication, pictures, and activity they provided were incredible and they showed true care!”

“Kerri was amazing for us with our doodle puppy in a last minute booking. She stayed in communication with us with lots of pictures and video. Maverick was taken care of just as well as he is at our house during his stay. Can’t say enough positive about this experience, which was our first with Rover and someone outside of our family keeping our dog.”

“Melissa took great care of my dog!! She was able to take him at last minutes notice. My dog is a 120lb Rottweiler and Melissa was absolutely great with him! Melissa and her husband were able to pick up and drop off as well which was a huge help.”

“Oksana was wonderful. She kept my fur baby in her home for 4 nights and five days while we were on vacation. She made sure to update me daily with pictures, videos and letters. I will definitely be using her again.”

“I could not have asked for a better experience! From the beginning, she made me feel completely comfortable leaving Otis with her. She has such a warm, loving home, a big yard for him to run and play in, and a sweet little girl dog of her own to keep him company. She was incredibly communicative throughout his stay and kept me updated on how he was doing, which meant so much to me. Otis is still a puppy with LOTS of energy, and he can definitely test the limits and be a little naughty at times! 😂 She handled all of his puppy antics like an absolute pro—with patience, kindness, and a great sense of humor. Most importantly, I could tell that Otis was genuinely cared for and loved while he was there. It’s such a relief to find someone you can trust with your dog and know that he’s not just being “watched,” but is actually comfortable, happy, and treated like part of the family. I would absolutely trust her with Otis again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive, and capable sitter. We definitely found our Rover sitter! ❤️🐾”

“Selected Lorraine based upon her outstanding reviews. She did not disappoint. While I was getting my college freshmen settled, her fur baby, Sophie had to be left behind. Lorraine provided updates throughout the trip. Great sitter.”

“Carol did a great job taking care of our dog. She was genuinely concerned for his wellbeing and sent pictures and updates daily, which helped put us at ease. We will definitely have Carol take care of our pup again.”

“Danielle was great with my dog. He’s older and can be a bit extra but she was super. Send lots of pics and videos. Would definitely book with Danielle again- thank you!”

About: I’m a professional dog trainer with years of veterinary medicine experience and a bachelor’s degree in Animal Health and Behavior. I’m experienced with dogs of all breeds, ages, temperaments, and behavioral needs. Caring for animals is already a major part of my everyday life, so adding another dog to my routine fits naturally into my schedule. I live on a farm and care for multiple animals daily, including dogs, horses, poultry, and other farm animals. My days are already structured around feeding, watering, exercise, cleaning, training, enrichment, medication when needed, and monitoring the health and behavior of the animals in my care. As a professional dog trainer, I also understand that dogs need more than food and potty breaks. Dogs staying with me receive plenty of opportunities for exercise, play, enrichment, rest, and individual attention based on their age, personality, energy level, and normal routine. I am accustomed to planning my schedule around animals and making sure their needs are consistently met throughout the day. Safety is one of my highest priorities when caring for someone else’s dog. I am a professional dog trainer with years of veterinary medicine experience and a bachelor’s degree in Animal Health and Behavior. This background allows me to recognize changes in behavior, body language, stress levels, and physical condition that might otherwise be overlooked. Dogs in my care are supervised and managed according to their individual temperament, training, and needs. I do not assume that every dog should interact with every other animal simply because they are staying in the same home. Dogs can be safely separated, crated, rotated, or given individual play and exercise time when appropriate. Because I live on a farm, I take additional precautions when dogs are outside. Every boarding dog wears a GPS tracking collar whenever they are outside of their secure kennel area, providing an additional layer of safety and security. Dogs are never given unnecessary freedom simply because they are staying in a rural environment. My goal is to provide a structured, safe, and enjoyable environment where owners can feel confident that their dog is receiving knowledgeable, individualized care while they are away.
About: I love all animals. I love walking, am playful with them and take them to parks etc. I had a German Pointer, Vita, from puppy til her death. She was extremely loyal to me. Although I lived with my husband and kids, I was her person. Overall, I can tell animals are very "attracted" to me and even my friends notice that with their pets. I help taking care of my son's black lab. Im available most of days after 4PM and all day Mondays and Tuesdays. I love walking in the parks and neighberhoods. Your pets will be safe and get necessary care and excersises with me. If boarded in my house I will take care of him like my own pet. No worries. I have an unfanced big yard but I love walking so Id do that twice a day. With your permission I'd take the dog to the parks and hiking trails.

“Our Labradoodle, Looper, stayed with Tonya and family while we traveled to Europe for almost 2 weeks. We are blessed to know that he's having a great time, treated as part of the family and we never worry about him when he's there. Tonya is fabulous.”

“Zach and family took such great care of Luna and I felt comfortable while traveling knowing she was in good hands! They were great about sending pics and videos as well as being flexible around dropoff and pickup. Thanks again and we will be seeing you all again soon!”

About: My name is AnnaMarie, and I love dogs. I work from home Thursday thru Sunday and would love to spend some time with your pups. This is my way of NOT getting another dog even though I want to lol. I used to pet sit for my neighbors whenever they would go on vacation, and I have two dogs myself (one a 4-month old puppy!) and am very protective. I'm always very respectful in other's homes and would provide the best time for your pups. I am available for helping with dogs as I work from home and have a flexible schedule! I am accustomed to early morning, midday and evening walks and am very familiar with providing medication as one of our dogs was a senior with a variety of health issues. I now also have a 4-month old puppy so I understand all the puppy antics too! At my own house, I have a big fenced in backyard and a very walkable neighborhood for walk breaks. I also am able to crate your dog or my dogs depending on your dogs personality and what suits them best. In client homes, I am extremely respectful of your space and happy to to do walks, medications, clean up if needed, etc.
About: I've owned and been around dogs my whole life, as well as chickens, hamsters, rats, etc(which I am also open to caring for your exotics). I currently have a 3 you golden doodle and a 9 month old boxer and a 12 yo cat as well as children which I feel gives me a superior ability to care for living things. I'm a stay at home parent so I have a large availability to watch your pets in my home as well as do drop in visits for you. We have two inside dogs who are fairly well trained and stay in our fenced in yard when they're out to potty and have plenty of space to run around.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Williamsboro home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Williamsboro.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Williamsboro sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
