Our resident canine klutz tore his paw pad the night before we left, and even though we totally sprung this development on Molly at the last minute, pro that she is, she jumped in and changed his dressings, kept the area clean, AND kept the dog calm to prevent further injury. She followed all instructions and she went above and beyond spending time with Diesel doing his favorite activities (walks, playing fetch, swimming, etc.).
