About: As a certified dog trainer, I provide structured, positive reinforcement-based training tailored to each dog’s needs. I also offer safe and enjoyable walks, ensuring dogs get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’m skilled at reading canine body language and behavior, which allows me to provide calm, engaging, and stress-free experiences for each dog I work with. Whether it’s training sessions, hikes, walks, or enrichment, I treat every dog with care, understanding, and empathy. My client hours are Tues.-Fri. from 12 to 8 pm, and Sat. 12 to 3 pm (excluding holidays). As a professional dog trainer, I love spending quality time with pets each day. In addition to caring for my own animals (two dogs, a cat, and several chickens!), I work with shelter dogs and training clients, giving me extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all ages and temperaments. I love providing safe, attentive, and empathetic care, whether it’s through training sessions, hikes, walks, or drop-in enrichment activities. I offer in-home training sessions, Adventure Training sessions, hikes including transport, neighborhood walks, and drop-in enrichment activities, always making the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet a priority. All training is based on positive reinforcement (R+) methods, ensuring dogs feel motivated, engaged, and confident while learning. During hikes and walks, I make sure each dog is leashed, closely monitored, and walked in a safe environment. Communication is a top priority—I provide updates on behavior, progress, and next steps, so you can rest assured that your pet is in capable, attentive, and compassionate hands. All hikes and walks include loose-leash reinforcement.
“Janyl is amazing. We just moved here from South Carolina and I’m beyond thankful to have someone treat my pets so well and with so much caring and love. She truly goes above and beyond and it really makes my day reading her Roover’s cards.”

“Adriana was a huge help to me in a last minute request. She was great with the pets and it was clear they were comfortable with her from the pics she sent me. Thanks so much!”

“Kristen did a great job with our dog Roscoe. He seemed very happy and we got lots of updates on how he was doing. It was very nice not to have to worry about him and we were able to enjoy our vacation. Thanks again Kristen!”

“We have booked Alexandria multiple times and she is always amazing at making sure our cat is all set while we travel. She’s great at communication and we get the best pictures while we are traveling.”

“If I could leave 10 stars I would! Kyliegh is great with Dallas. I was very stressed about finding someone to walk him and spend some time with him while I work but Kyliegh has made all of those fears disappear. Dallas can be difficult and at times even intimidating but she didn’t give up and made sure she did all she could to make Dallas comfortable. I would highly recommend Kyliegh! I have 0 complaints!”

“Thomas was wonderful with our two kitties. He checked in on them daily and provided us with pictures and updates that were so appreciated. He truly has a gift with our four legged friends!”

About: I have had cats and dogs as pets my whole life. I have also been there for friends, family and neighbors when they need a pet sitter. I currently look after both of my parents dogs while they are at work. Looking to do the same for others I currently have an open schedule and generally flexible on what hours I can work. Please let me know how I can help you and care for your pets! I understand animals have their territory and also enjoy when you respect their personal space. Making sure an animal trusts me is important to me.
“He did a fantastic job of taking care of our girls while we were gone. They were fed, watered, played with, and poops cleaned up. We came home to some very happy cats.”

“Brent was reliable and timely with his check ins and updates while dropping in to feed and check on my cat. Happy to know someone was giving her attention while I was away! Would recommend. ?”

“Kayla was flexible with taking care of my guinea pigs in addition to my cat. The house was cleaner than I expected upon return since the shavings/hay can get dusty but Kayla obviously put in the extra time to sweep up. There were a few communication gaps (was not notified that kibble was running low until the bag was down to its last feeding, use of Rover cards only without any actual updates on pet status) but overall I am happy with my first use of this website for pet care.”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets since an early age. Growing up with a dog, watching my neighbors pets, and now I help take care of my parents 5 year old black lab. I always take care of all of the pets needs. I work remote, so I’m home the whole time to be with your dog and can provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, playtime, and company throughout the day. I’m respectful, reliable, and trusting. I’m good at communication. I will follow what you ask for and make sure the pets needs are taken care of!
About: I grew up with two cats, so I love cats as well as dogs. In 2019, I adopted an incredibly loving, gorgeous lab pit named Lucy, and she keeps me very active every day! She was a rescue dog, and although we were originally fostering her, I bonded with her too much to let her go. I’ve always been a natural introvert and have been drawn to the compassion of animals. I believe we can learn more about our own humanity through caring for animals. I look forward to meeting your amazing furry friends! In addition to Rover, I substitute teach right now, and this allows me to have a very flexible schedule. It's closer to part-time than full-time. My priority is to listen and adapt to each client’s needs/preferences, so that both the client and their pets will be as happy as possible.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 301 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Whitelaw. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whitelaw. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
