“I couldn’t have asked for better care for my cat, Oreo. Whitney is a true animal lover and really connected with her, which meant so much to me. Her communication was thoughtful, responsive, and always kept me feeling at ease. She went above and beyond, and I truly felt like Oreo was so well cared for while I was away. I would absolutely trust her again!”

About: Hi there, and thanks for checking out my profile! I’ve been on Rover for about a year and primarily take on housesitting roles or keep pets in my home, but I also have long term walking clients. I’m here because I genuinely love animals and have years of accumulated animal experience that really lends itself well to creating happy clients. I've had pets of all shapes and sizes since the 7th grade when I turned my dog into my science fair project (The Effect of Rewards on Dog Training). Since then, I've done obedience classes with one of my pups, worked with Australian Shepherd and Doberman rescue as a transporter and foster mom, and walked many miles with some cute pooches. I'm currently mom to one male cat, an Holland Lop, and one very typical male Golden Retriever. OH--and a seven year old human boy! I’m experienced in difficult animal behaviors such as separation anxiety and mild aggression towards other animals, potty training, medical emergencies (I am NOT clinically trained, but I’ve been through a lot of vet appointments between my pets and the rescues), and giving medication. I’m also a farmer and floral designer by trade, so I might covertly care for your houseplants as well. My work schedule is flexible, and I often work from home. I determine my own work schedule, so I can accommodate pet care most days and times. I’m very careful about not overcommitting myself, particularly when it comes to taking responsibility for other people’s pets. I offer in-home care for cat- and kid-friendly pups who get along well with other animals. Ollie the Golden Retriever will be sure to keep your dog well-entertained. He is 5 years old and still very "puppy," but ultimately, he’s a chill Golden to his core. The cat loves Ollie but are typically unimpressed by all other creatures. The rabbit rules the house.
“Lisa took great care of my girls despite even having a death in her family. She is very kind. We had an issue with the billing and she worked that out with Rover quickly. Highly recommend.”

“Karsyn was super great to work with! She took fantastic care of my cat, even got her to come out from under the bed, which is amazing, and I felt like I had no worries with her there to take care of Buddy! She left detailed cards, did everything perfectly, and I will absolutely be using her again! Give yourself the peace of mind and book Karsyn!”

About: I have experience working in animal rescue, fostering, basic training, and complex medical maintenance for both dogs and cats. I have fostered over 100 dogs in ten years and owned two heart dogs and three beloved cats, all who had complicated medical conditions that required daily management. Pets are family to me and deserve the best care and consideration. I am currently on sabbatical and looking to fill my days with happy time with pets though walks, play, and just quality time. I’m available every day 11 am to 6 pm. Two days notice is required for both dog walking or dog check-in requests. I have a fenced in back yard and crates, along with dog safe toys, doggy gates, and non slip mats throughout the house for better traction for older dogs.
“I highly recommend Rebecca for your cat sitting! She took such good care of Kitty Cat, and sent updates and photos at every visit. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing she was in good hands!”

“Samira is an absolute jewel! She was very attentive to my doggie and four cats while I was in Chicago for four days. She sent me photos and video updates every day and also looked out for my Temu and Amazon deliveries! I will absolutely be calling in her again next time I go out of town!”

About: I have had pets my whole life. I currently have two cats. In college I worked on a farm and cared for cattle, chickens, goats, pigs, and alpaca. I am currently a zoo keeper and have been in the field for three years. I have cared for reptiles, small mammals, some birds, and larger hoof stock. I have experience giving medications, preparing special diets, training, and observing animal health/behavior. I have worked with young and senior animals. My weekends are Tuesday and Wednesday, so anytime of day I am free. On days that I work I am able to care for your pets before or after. If needed I can also check on your pets during lunch. I am great at following instructions. When going into your home or staying the night I will provide the best care I can. I will make sure to respect your home and your pets!
About: My best friend of 15 years and her family have two wonderful dogs, a doodle and a lab who I have taken care of so many times. I even watched the doodle when she was just a few months old for about a week during a snow storm while her family was on vacation. They’re a handful but so much fun. I have also cat-sit for up to 3-weeks on end. Giving medicine, checking for packages, and updating if anything seems off. I am a graduate student with very flexible hours. I am happy to spend time with your pet while I study or just for personal therapy. I will make time for animals no matter what. I go above and beyond noting things like if the house temperature is uncomfortable for said pet. I keep them under constant supervision and won’t leave them alone for more than a few hours unless discussed otherwise. I am very thorough and will take extra time to make sure each pet feels comfortable and safe with a new person around them. I know what it takes to be patient with pets.
“Leanissa is great! Always leaves a lot of pictures and details about her time with Teddy. Her response time is quick. She does great with Teddy, making sure he goes potty and giving him lots of cuddles so he’s not sad when she leaves. I would highly recommend booking her!”

“I get really scared when I have to leave my 2 cats for work trips or holidays. Timia completely made me feel at ease. She came a few days before I left to meet them and see if they were compatible, which was wonderful! I got pictures and updates everyday. She was so understanding of my cats issues and made sure I was good as well. I only want her watching my cats while I'm gone. She's wonderful!!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my entire life, and caring for them has always been a huge part of who I am. I currently have one cat with me at college and three more waiting for me at home, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I volunteer with the Humane Society and a local cat rescue, Comfort Cats, where I help care for cats in need. I am also Fear Free Certified, which means I prioritize reducing stress and creating a safe, positive experience for every pet. I’m currently on the pre-veterinary track in college, and my passion for animal health and welfare continues to grow every day. Whether your pet needs playtime, walks, feeding, medication, or simply lots of love and attention, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. I also work at a animal rescue by the name of Final Victory in Columbia! I am currently a full-time college student, but I make it a priority to provide dependable care for every pet I work with. My class schedule allows me to be flexible throughout the week, and I have even more availability on weekends. I plan my schedule carefully so your pets receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I understand that every pet is unique, so I take the time to follow your instructions and maintain their normal schedule as closely as possible. As a Fear Free Certified caregiver and pre-veterinary student, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress and provide calm, compassionate care. I will treat both your pets and your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I'm a self-employed pet lover and dog sitter with lots of experience under my belt. I also work part time to make sure my family future is secure. While I don't have any dogs of my own, I will welcome yours with open arms and care for them as if they're mine! I live in a spacious, two story house and have ample room for your pet to play. My yard is fenced in and very secure. Since there are stairs in my house, dogs with hip or back problems may sleep downstairs. I keep a clean home. If it is a faint smell of dog pee, it’s because dogs do use the restroom on my carpet (I am a dog sitter and most dogs do so in my home, especially the “not so potty trained” ones). I make sure to clean up after every service rendered. Stays on day of pick up after 2 pm can occur additional fees. References are available upon request. About this sitter: I have been pet sitting for several years. I love all animals, especially dogs. I am self employed who work from home, which leaves me plenty of time to spend with your dog. I also have a part time job to make sure my family future is secure. Why I love dog sitting I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up around them and have been pet sitting for several years. About my yard I have a spacious, fenced-in backyard.
About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 15 years and have experience with a wide variety of pets and personalities. I have extensive hands-on experience with small animals, especially rabbits, having cared for many of my own over the years and understanding their unique needs, routines, and behaviors. I also have experience with cats and dogs of all sizes and ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs. Whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, administering routine care, or simply providing companionship, I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I work full-time during the week, so I’m primarily available on weekends, with limited weekday availability depending on the timing. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I’ve cared for rabbits for over 15 years and have experience with cats and dogs of all sizes and ages. I’m used to feeding schedules, walks, litter box and habitat cleaning, playtime, enrichment, grooming, and providing plenty of love and attention. I believe every pet is happiest when their routine stays as consistent as possible. In a client’s home, I carefully follow their feeding schedule, walking routine, medication instructions (if needed), and any other care preferences. I make sure pets have fresh water, a clean environment, plenty of exercise or enrichment, and lots of attention and affection. I also provide regular updates with photos so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away.

Mary Helen continues to be the BEST dog sitter I could ever recommend. She takes care of my two dogs who can definitely be a handful, and she does such a great job with them. I can tell that she truly cares about my girls, and it gives me peace of mind that they are in good hands when she is around. She leaves detailed, thoughtful reviews every single day and sends me great photos that brighten my day when I have to be away from them. I would highly recommend her for any dog sitting needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
