About: Experience & Philosophy With over a decade of hands-on experience caring for a diverse array of animals—from dogs and cats to reptiles and small exotics—I bring a deep, foundational understanding of animal behavior and needs to every walk. This extensive background, enriched by my work with animal foster groups, has honed my ability to read subtle cues and adapt to each pet's unique personality and comfort level. I don't just see a walk as a routine task; I view it as a vital opportunity for enrichment, exercise, and building a positive connection. My Approach: Patience & Partnership My core focus is on fostering trust—both with your pet and with you. I believe patience is the cornerstone of a great relationship, so I take the time to let shy or anxious dogs warm up at their own pace, using calm, positive reinforcement. For you, the owner, this means consistent, clear communication and detailed updates, so you always feel confident and connected while you're apart. Your peace of mind and your pet's genuine comfort are my top priorities, ensuring every outing is safe, enjoyable, and tailored to your specific expectations. I am self-employed and work from home. Because of this I maintain my own schedule, which means your pets can be my priority when I am with them. My home is an active and engaging space, perfectly suited for dogs who thrive with plenty of stimulation and exercise. As the proud owner of a high-energy herding dog, I have firsthand experience in meeting the needs of active breeds. Our daily life is built around structured enrichment and ample physical activity, from puzzle games and training sessions to long, adventurous walks and play. Your dog won't just be staying with me—they’ll be joining a fun, dynamic routine that keeps their body and mind happily engaged. Your pet’s safety and comfort are paramount. I maintain a clean, secure, and pet-proofed home to ensure a stress-free environment. With a resident expert in canine energy, I am exceptionally attentive to reading play styles and ensuring all interactions are positive and supervised. If your dog loves to play and learn, they will fit right into our active and loving household.

About: I’m a dedicated dog lover with hands-on experience caring for my own rescue pup, Wubzy! About: I have worked in animal rescue and have had numerous fosters, processed adoption applications and more. All of my animals are up to date and spoiled. I am a teacher, so I am off for the summer and will be available much of the time within the next 2 months. I take care of my own pets every day so your pets would fit right in here. I have a fenced in back yard, an inside doggy room. My dogs sleep in my room but I also have a large crate if an additional safe space is needed for calm and quiet. My furkids eat twice a day and have a constant supply of water.

About: Hello! My name is Sarah. I would describe myself as your run of the mill animal lover. I have my own home and it’s just myself, my two year old Shiba Inu, a senior cat, and a kitten. I live on .25 acres and have a chain link fenced in yard. My yard is pretty dig proof, as my own dog is a digger, however it is a shorter chain link fence that could be jumped by a bigger dog. I do have a line I could attached the dog to that would still give access to most of the yard. Otherwise, I wanted to do boarding on Rover because I know how hard it is to trust people to give your dog the time and attention you would want it to have while you are away. I work five minutes from my house, go home for an hour everyday for lunch, and spend most of my weekends at home. If I were boarding your pet, I would spend the weekend at home. My house is also five minutes away from a park that has two dog parks and a walking trail. I would be more than happy to send pictures and videos while your pet is staying with me! I let my pets have free access to the entire house and furniture while I am at work, but would be happy to crate if your pet needs it. I also have the ability to separate the pets should it be necessary for any reason. I do work full time, but since I live so close to work I come home for my lunch break everyday and spend an hour with my dog in the yard. Depending on the weather, I also will walk my dog or take him to the dog park by my house. I spend most of my weekends at home, only leaving to do things like grocery shop and that. My pets are my kids. I care deeply about them being safe and well cared for, and I would make sure your pets feel the same way. I am happy to crate pets or let them roam free depending on your preference. I also make sure they have plenty of playtime and love. My pets are great with each other and will keep your pet company as well!

About: I have never been without a dog my whole life. I was taught at a very young age to love and treat my dogs like family. Now, as an adult, I treat every dog and animal with love and kindness. Your dog will be treated pretty much like a person around me. I have also previously worked at a dog daycare and boarding facility, which taught me to recognize certain signs and behaviors from all dogs. I have learned to work with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I do not discriminate certain breeds of dogs, I belive every dog deserves a chance. Furthermore, I have been around and taken care of senior dogs. This has included anything from simply letting the senior dog out more often to administering medicactions. I am avaliable mostly in the afternoon and evening hours. I work first shift from 6am to 2pm, but Mondays and Tuesdays are free for me anytime of the day!

In my current household, I care for five dogs, including two dogs over 100 pounds, two medium sized dogs, and one small Chihuahua. I have raised three dogs from puppyhood, giving me hands on experience with puppy behavior, routine reinforcement, and the changing needs of dogs throughout their lives. I also have experience administering medications when needed and carefully follow all care instructions provided by pet owners. In addition to dogs, I have experience caring for cats and have been around animals my entire life. I also personally care for reptiles, including snakes and a crested gecko, and am familiar with specialized feeding and habitat routines. About: Not only am I a mother of three furry friends, but I also take the time and effort to consider each pets needs based on their age, comfort level, and personality. Please don’t be worried that because I’m new to Rover I won’t be able to carry out good care. Caring for animals (even farm animals), has been something that’s been carried throughout my family. I will make sure your pet gets stimulated the way YOU want. Whether that’s walks or relaxation. Or whether that’s helping a puppy get adjusted to the leash correctly. I have passion for this field, as well as love for the animals. My average day consists of not only caring for myself, but my furry friends as well. Taking care of animals helps me get set up for my future career, (vet tech) as I’m currently enrolled in colleges courses. My pets travel with me, but when I’m assigned to others care I will occasionally leave them at home. When I’m at home, my babies get all of my attention and as many belly rubs as they want. Safety around animals is a huge component of sitting. I would not just trust anybody with my babies. Supervision 100% of the time I’m in charge of the furry friends. I never want to overstep an animals patience, so learning to trust and cater to the animal is something I’ve adapted to doing. When I’m at others homes, I always take into consideration each pets comfort levels and needs so I can make sure they’re taken care of as much as possible.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 723 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Whisler. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Whisler. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Whisler.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Whisler. On Rover:

  • 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
