“Natasha is awesome! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Charlie. He came home so relaxed and happy. She took Charlie for walking also. She has such a kind, gentle way with dogs, and her communication was fantastic—frequent photos, updates and super prompt responses the whole time. We will absolutely look to her for future pet care and will gladly recommend her to everyone we know!”

“Pamela and Paul are legit ‘dog people’. They got to know Ollie pretty quickly and confidently helped him ease into a friendship with Marlowe and another client. I received the usual photos of Ollie with a ball or snuggling humans, but was surprised to also receive photos of Ollie playing and snuggling with the other dogs, which was a whole new experience for him! I’m happy to know he was so well taken care of during his time with Pamela, Paul and Marlowe and will reach out again for future boarding!”

“Left my 5 month puppy Leahla with Sheri and her family for the weekend through out the stay she kept me updated and sent pictures of Leahla. Definitely will be booking again.”
“Squiggy had a wonderful stay with Paula. He came home happy, relaxed and tired from all his playtime with Paula and the other dogs. He was definitely at home away from home. Paula’s communication was excellent and she clearly loves and provides great care for fur-babies. We will be back!”

“My dog had an amazing time with Michelle and Milo - She liked it so much it seemed she didn’t want to leave! Seriously, Michelle took great care of my girl and made sure all of her needs were taken care of.”

“I can’t recommend Kelsi enough! She took amazing care of my Great Dane puppy, Wax, over the weekend. From the moment I dropped him off, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands. My favorite part of the experience was all the pictures Kelsi sent—seeing Wax play and enjoy himself made me feel so relieved while I was away. When I picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. Kelsi truly went above and beyond, and I’ll absolutely trust her with Wax again. Five stars all the way!”

“Matthew was extremely communicative and took great care of my little guy. I got lots of pictures during my time away and got great responses to any questions I asked about food or play or anything like that. I would recommend Matthew to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Luna frequents Laura’s quite a bit but this was her longest stay and it was such a peace of mind to us being across the country knowing she was at her home away from home. The pictures Laura sent throughout the week showed she was having the happiest vacation herself 😎🐾”

“Stephen was amazing. He took in our pups on short notice and was very thorough with their care regime. He kept us updated with pictures and he took such good care of our fur babies. Stephen and his family are a blessing and we highly recommend them to love on your fur babies too.”
“Ronda was absolutely great! My pup warmed up to her immediately and I could tell by the end of her trip, Ronda was a fave! She took great care of pup and kept me up to date on her walks and behavior. My dog sometimes gets separation anxiety, but ate and enjoyed all her time. She was also super flexible with me! Highly recommend!”
“Susan and Josh were wonderful with our Lab, Abby! They were very responsive throughout the booking process and during Abby’s stay with their family. We received many photos and they quickly answered messages. They have a secure yard, a clean home and cared very well for Abby. I will definitely book with them in the future.”

“Ashley was awesome! It was our first time leaving our puppy, Kona, with a sitter and she more than exceeded our expectations. She provided updates with pictures and videos often and we felt very comfortable with leaving Kona with her. Would definitely recommend/ rebook in the future”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life! I grew up in a home with three cats and regularly pet sat for dogs and cats. Today, I have an 80-pound dog and two cats of my own, so I understand the importance of finding a reliable, caring sitter who treats your pets like family. I have a flexible schedule and work from home on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I’m also home on the weekends and can arrange my schedule around your pet’s stay to provide plenty of supervision, companionship, and attention throughout the day. My home has a fenced in backyard where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time and play. I also have two cats who can be kept completely separate from visiting pets as needed. I’ll take the time to get to know your dog’s personality, routine, and individual needs to help them feel safe and comfortable in my care. Whether we’re going for walks, playing with favorite toys, spending time in the backyard, or simply relaxing together, I want your pup to feel right at home. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, exercise, and any special care needs, and I’ll send regular photo and video updates so you can see how your furry friend is doing while you’re away. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care that gives you peace of mind and makes your dog’s time away from you as happy and stress free as possible! I will plan my schedule around your pet’s stay so they aren’t left alone. “We recently moved here. Family members took care of our dog previously, but we lost that when we moved. We were very apprehensive about leaving our dog with someone we didn't know well, but Radka & Jim were great! We received plenty of updates with pictures and videos, and Lexi was very happy when I picked her up. We already have our next stay with them booked and I would definitely recommend them.”

“Hilary and her family took great care of our pup for a 10 day stay while my husband and I were traveling. We received daily pictures and messages, so we knew how our pup was doing. We will definitely book again!”

About: I no longer have our own dog after losing my beautiful lab last year. I now want to be a pet sitter for cuddles and have a private home for your dogs comfort. I work full time from home and take frequent walks outside. Your pet will have constant companionship. A routine schedule is welcomed to ensure your pet stays on track! I do have a fenced yard. I do not have a crate or bedding which would need to be provided for your pet along with any necessary instructions.
“Apollo had a great time with Kristen, Christopher, and his new friend Wallie! Received lots of updates throughout the weekend and they treated him like he was their own!”

Riley was fantastic! I had a last minute cancellation of another sitter and Riley was willing to accommodate at the last minute. She met Jackson and he was immediately smitten with her. Riley gave me updates and photos and kept me at ease in what was a very stressful situation. Definitely would use her again.

96% of sitters in Wheatlands can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wheatlands.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
