“Jennifer is very responsive to messages and showed up on time plus she even tried to change Athena's litter box but we have a litter robot. I appreciated she was trying to do it without being asked.”

About: I have over nine years of experience caring for dogs, including one year as a boarder. Growing up, I fostered dogs and cared for pets of all sizes and temperaments. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, but since I can’t have one where I live, getting to walk and care for them every day brings me so much joy! Whether your pup needs extra playtime, careful attention, or a dependable walker, I’m here to help. As an online student at UAB, I have a flexible schedule and can accommodate walks and pet care throughout any day of the week. I’m usually up by 6 AM, so I’m available for early morning walks if needed. However, I prefer not to do nighttime walks for safety reasons. Whether your pup needs a midday walk or an afternoon play session, I’m happy to be there! I provide pet care in clients’ homes, following all given instructions to ensure consistency and comfort for your dog. Whether it’s walking, exercise, feeding schedules, or crate time, I follow routines closely to keep pets happy and stress-free. I prioritize safety, trust, and personalized care to make sure your pet feels comfortable while you’re away.
“We were extremely pleased with how well Stephanie took care of our cat. He needed insulin shots twice a day on a 12 hour schedule and we were nervous leaving this to a pet sitter. Stephanie was prompt, kept his meds schedule, played with him, and he seemed to really respond well to her. We will definitely book her next time we need a sitter.”

I travel to clients' homes, ensuring your pets remain in their familiar environment, reducing stress and anxiety. With a strong focus on trust and reliability, I provide consistent and attentive care, following all safety protocols to keep your furry friends happy and secure.
“Rachel and Justin did a great job taking care of our boys! I’m not even sure they missed us while we were away. They were even able to get our shy old man to play which is quite the feat. Usually house sitters don’t even see him. I will definitely be using them again the next time we go out of town! Thank you guys!”

Especially after Thanksgiving to New Years Safety is my first priority for both my fur babies and yours. Your dogs will always be on a leash when they are walked. I will always make sure to visually see your fur baby before I leave to ensure they do not escape and make sure the doors are locked when I leave.

About: I am the happy mother of three rescued fur babies and two adult children. One of my fur babies has been trained to be an emotional support dog and knows some sign language. They love children. “Kristie is absolutely amazing! Our cat had "disappeared " when she came for her drop in visit, and she searched high and low for him. She contacted me for ideas and kept looking. She offered to come back and look some more, which I eventually took her up on when I thought of somewhere else he might be. Happy ending, she found him closed up in a bathroom where the door had been caught by the a/c draft and closed accidentally . We were both ecstatic! Of course then she had a huge mess to clean up which she did without any complaints. Kristie really cares about the pets she's taking care of, and I truly appreciate her and will use her every time I need a sitter!!”

“I highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a top-notch pet sitter. She recently watched my cat, Lea, and did a great job. She was patient with my cat’s “ways” (sorry she’s not the most sociable!), but Caroline was on top with the visit cards and pictures, and very reliable. It's such a relief to find a sitter you can trust. Thank you so much, Caroline, for taking such wonderful care of my baby Lea!”

About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
