“Amanda was so good with my dog Freddy who has a high level of separation anxiety. Freddy ended up having a great day at Amanda’s house. She sent me pictures during the day. I highly recommend Amanda to watch your dog.”

“What a wonderful family! Luiz & Patricia are incredibly professional and kind (as are their daughters & pup!) and made my girl feel right at home. She came home exhausted after having spent much of the day running around outside and playing with their dog & daughters. I always LOVE to get updates during a stay, and I received so many fun pictures and videos. I could not recommend them more!!!”

“Cindy is so attentive to all the dogs that she cares for, there is great outdoor space for them to play, a lovely screened in porch and inside her home by her side to rest. I trust her and her two pups are so good with all doggie guests! So glad I found her, Daisy and Gummy!”

“Normally, when we pick Yoda from a day care or boarding he will express his unhappiness by barking at us trying to tell us he didn’t like it there. But when we picked him up from your place he was all happy and no barks very calm, it tells us he had a good time with you. Thank you for taking good care of him.”

“Tracy was such a good sitter for our dog! She had great communication and was very friendly and accommodating to our schedule. She provided plenty of photos and updates as well. We’ll definitely book her again if we need a sitter!”

“I’ve taken my sweet girl Emma to Elaine’s for almost a year now there’s no one I would trust more with her. She is so flexible and accommodating and you just know your pet is in good hands”

About: I work full-time from home in Amherst, meaning your dog will never be left alone or crated for long stretches. I have a large, fully fenced-in yard where guest dogs can run safely alongside my friendly 35 lb Rat Terrier/Beagle mix, Wally! Because I only host ONE client family at a time, your pet gets 100% of my attention, unlimited bathroom breaks, and constant supervision throughout the day. Whether it's lounging next to my desk or playing fetch in the yard, your dog will feel right at home. I work full-time from home, which means pet care seamlessly integrates into my day. Your dog won't be left alone or crated for hours while you're away. I take regular breaks throughout the day for yard play, potty breaks, and walks. Because I only take one client family at a time, your dog receives constant company alongside my friendly mix, Wally. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. My home features a fully fenced, secure backyard where dogs can run freely and safely. Inside, furniture privileges are welcome if that's what your pup is used to at home! Whether your dog is crate-trained or prefers lounging on a dog bed, I adapt to their normal routine. Mandatory meet-and-greets ensure everyone gets along before booking.

“Our pup was very well taken care of, few hiccups along the way however they were very responsive, and she returned home every day just wiped out from blowing off all of her energy.”

“Kathryn is great. She took great care of my dog while I was at work. Sent me pictures and updates so that I knew how he was doing. Highly recommend. We did daycare with her and he loves being there and playing with her dogs and whoever else she is watching that day”

About: I always loved and had dogs. Until I had a small size dog I have realized that leaving them at home is very heartbreaking. I have a 12year old Maltese girl. I always looked for someone to take care of her when I was not available. Now, I want to be that person for your little precious ones. I can be their companion when you are not available. I can maintain the same standards you provide as much as I can. Little ones have access to my couch, bed, lap as long as they want or I have different types of beddings around my apartment if they feel like being alone. (My dog is very independent, sometimes she prefers sleeping alone.) They won't be alone for a long time. Maybe just a short period of time such as grocery visit, I have a camera at my home so I can monitor how they are doing. Looking forward to meet them soon! ❤️ I’m currently studying and working from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pups in my care. We usually have two long walks and one shorter outing each day. On weekends, we enjoy exploring nearby parks and spending extra time outdoors. I have a friendly Maltese who enjoys the company of other dogs. My home is pet-proofed and set up to keep pets safe and comfortable, with crates, cozy pet beds, toys, a home monitor, and access to an outdoor area. I follow each pet’s routine closely and make sure they receive attention, exercise, and a calm environment.
“I think our puppy Lucy officially found her second home with Dawn and her family! Knowing we needed a sitter before even bringing our puppy home, I turned to Rover and found Dawn—and I’m so glad I did. She went above and beyond from the start, even coming over with her kids to meet Lucy beforehand. She’s truly salt of the earth, and I immediately felt at ease the moment I met her. As first-time dog parents, we had plenty of questions and requests, and Dawn was so accommodating, evening keeping us updated with the sweetest photos. I loved that on our first daycare service Lucy got to socialize with her kids and even play with another dog while she was there. On top of that, my husband has a difficult work schedule, and Dawn was incredibly flexible, which made everything so much easier. Watching a hyper puppy is no small task, but Dawn handled it with such care and patience. We are so grateful to have Dawn and her family in out circle!”

“My 8yo dog Wilbur loved her time with Joshua and Rebecca! We haven't needed dog sitting or daycare often, and I am so glad I was able to find Joshua while in town on a work trip. Wilbur made new friends (she can be a loner but loves people), got out on tons of walks and creeks, and even got to ride in the dog van. It can be stressful finding the right dog care when on the road vs. at home with people you know, and I'm glad Wilbur got to spend a few day care days with this family!”

“Nancy has been a fantastic caregiver for my dog! Her communication is thorough, she sends me pictures throughout the day, and she has been really wonderful about all of my pet’s medical needs. She feels like a real partner! A+ for Nancy!”

“Joanne is so nice, extremely accommodating and takes great care of the dogs! I just started bringing my 1.5yr puppy to her and she is amazing with him, sends me pics and videos of all the fun he is having while he’s there …he truly LOVES going to Joanne for Doggy daycare! I HIGHLY highly recommend her!!!”

“A+ Absolutely recommend, 100%! Donnie is out-of-this-world awesome. In town for the summer, I had a bit of an emergency and desperately needed someone the next day to care for my two dogs – one is a puppy who isn't ready to be left alone yet. Donnie responded quickly to my request, insisted on meeting me and the dogs first, which was a very good sign he a real pro. He did a great job with the dogs and included some excellent training, even investing some time with me to show me how to keep them from pulling. He's also got a great set up and I felt very comfortable leaving the dogs in his care. Very impressed!”

“Meli took such great care of my fur baby! From the moment I was in touch with Meli, I felt safe and excited about the opportunity to have Ollie spend the day with her and her pup Nina. She was warm and assuring, and very quick to respond to messages! When I met Meli in person to drop Ollie off, I was happy to find such a friendly and kind person in real life, too! She sent me photos and updates throughout the 6 hours that Ollie was with her for “day care” (without me even needing to ask!) and I could tell he was having fun and being taken care of so well! I would absolutely recommend Meli and would love to have Ollie stay with her again if we need a sitter in Bloomington. Thanks Meli! ?”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your West Townsend commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 716 sitters in West Townsend, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
