“I was visiting the area to attend a course and found this resource on Rover. Lindsey (and her family) is absolutely wonderful! She accepted my fur baby as one of her own. Noodle loved being there which was a great relief to me so I could attend my courses without additional pet caregiving stresses. I can’t say enough good things about this experience and will definitely use the service (especially with Lindsey) any time I am in the area. I hope that if I have to travel elsewhere that I find someone as great as Lindsay to care for my baby Noodle.”

About: Hello pet parents my name is Octavia (i prefer to go by my middle name)! I HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MORE THAN JUST DOGS AND CATS SUCH AS CHICKENS AND DUCKS !! I am military and I am able to access base when needed. I am 21 years old and I LOVE animals!! Due to my Army career I live in a loft with my wife, my dog. Taking care of animals is my calling! I have now been in the Army for three years. I joined to further pursue my college education and become a veterinarian in the future. I am extremely passionate about the care that animals receive. I have volunteered for lots of shelters since i was young to learn all about animals and their needs, so it is my duty to ensure that your fur baby is well taken care of. Being that i worked with a lot of trained animal handlers, I have experience with animals who have many special needs such as diabetes, aids, cancer, seniors, etc. I also have experience with many different ages and breeds of dogs/cats. I previously worked at a groomers and volunteered at a pet shelter. At both establishments I fed the animals, bathed them, played with them, and took them out for restroom breaks. | love to stay active so I go on a daily walk/run and I would love for your pet to accompany me. I have plenty of room in my schedule to spend quality time with your pet. This would include going to the park, play time, and even cuddle time! While you are gone from your sweet fur baby, I will be available for communication 80% of the time. I am more than happy to send updates on how your pet is doing upon request. Anything that makes you and your pets comfortable I am more than happy to do. The less stress there is for you and your fur baby the better! I am here for your needs!! I am extremely excited to be pet sitting again as l did this before I joined the military. I work from 9-5 for the time being until my shift changes but am truly excited to be able to rush home and care for your pets. I will always keep you updated on my schedule being that my hours change every 3 months. I have a dog and a kitten right now and I constantly do research on their diet and behavior and their well being to make sure I am giving them the best possible life that they deserve.
About: I have worked in veterinary Kennels and in shelters. I am also a certified Dog and Cat trainer through Animal Behavior College in 2013. I have been trained in animal first aide. I have a military I.D. so I can also care for military families as well! I come home on my lunch break to let the dogs run in the yard (we NEVER leave the dogs outside on their own for safety from hawks etc). The longest they are alone is 5 hours. Our live revolve around our own dogs so they will feel like one of the family in no time. We have a fenced .75 acre yard that we stay out with them for safety. Older pups will be carried on any stairs to prevent any falls. Kenneling is a part of our home for safety. But if we are home they are out. The dogs have their own room where they kennel that has safety film on the windows so they can benefit from the light but are not tormented by the squirrels in the trees. Cats are kept in their own area as well. I know how important your dog is and I will treat them the way I would want mine treated. With the exception of errands and taking kids to school I am home full time. We treat visitors as one of the pack. Often our visiting pups like to lounge on the couch when not supervised in the yard. I have a fenced yard and dogs are not left outside unattended (especially the little ones). We have a multi layered floor plan so if a dog needs to be alone for a bit we have the ability to do so.

About: I'm a work from home professional with flexible hours. I have a 3 bedroom house with a large fenced in yard for puppies to run and potty (freely). I've cared for/owned dogs for over 15 years and make sure they stick to their routine of potty breaks/feeding/treat time! I don't mind coming to ones home and caring for their pets while they are away on business or enjoying some free time! I understand last minute trips and can squeeze you into my schedule. Every family member I have + most friends have dogs so I'm very familiar with how to care for and entertain pets whom I am new to! I'm so excited this is an option for extra income and I hope to meet your pups soon!
“My mini schnauzer loves to go for doggy daycare! Rae Lynne takes pictures and videos through out the day and communicates via text message. She is close by and has a big yard for the dogs to play. She is fabulous!!! And so sweet! Highly recommend her!!!”
“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our fur baby. This was our first time leaving our girl with someone we didn’t know but Alex answered all our questions and we felt more than comfortable leaving her for the day. We loved getting videos of her playing and having a good time with all her new friends. If in the KC area again, we would definitely take her back!”

“Our dog took to Cristina, and it made me feel at ease the way Cristina interacted with our dog. She was personable, and my dog came home tired from her stay, which is a good thing for us. We would absolutely use Cristina again!”

About: Born and raised around cats and dogs of all ages and breeds, I’ve developed a lifelong passion for animal care. From energetic puppies to senior pets needing extra attention, I’ve provided love, patience, and reliable care. My experience includes feeding, walking, administering medications, and ensuring pets feel safe and comfortable. I treat every pet as if they’re my own! As a stay-at-home mom with school-aged kids, my schedule is flexible, giving me plenty of availability to dedicate to pet care. Whether it’s morning walks, midday playtime, or evening cuddles, I can easily work pet care into my daily routine. While my kids are at school, I focus on caring for your pets, ensuring they get the love and attention they need. Being home throughout the day allows me to accommodate special requests, provide updates, and keep your pets happy and well-cared for. Safety and trust are my top priorities. As a pet owner of two dogs and one cat, I understand the importance of creating a secure, comfortable environment. My home features a fenced-in yard for safe outdoor play and crates if needed. I can also separate animals into different parts of the house to ensure everyone feels at ease. Your pets will receive attentive care in a loving, stress-free space tailored to their needs.
“Robin did an amazing job with our 2 deaf Dalmatians! She helped ease the separation with all the text and photos. I’m so excited to have a home away from home for our spotted babies. We will definitely be having Aria and Dash stay with her again.”

“Erin and John were spectacular with our dog. He got lots of exercise and fun romps with another pup about his same size. Erin had enrichment toys along with other doggie toys. We'll definitely be going back!”

About: I like dogs because they encourage me to be active. Keeping pups clean and pretty is fun for me because my dog doesn't like water. I treat all dogs like children. I walk 2 Rottweilers everyday Monday thru Friday. Also, I walk and play with a Golden retriever named Hershey Monday thru Friday. I have stayed at my sister's house, she has a pitbull, blue heeler and lab mix. I have kept my parents Japanese Chin and Pekingese. So I have lots of experience with many different breeds of pups. I have never met a dog that I didn't get along with or that didn't like me. Dogs are like people and should be treated that way. I enjoy spending time with cats too. I am not a reptile person.
About: I’ve always had dogs growing up, from beagles to Akita’s, shitzus to lab/Great Dane mixes. We have a Morkie and a Pit/Weimaraner mix who love having doggy play dates! I work remotely, so your pup can lounge with me in my office on the guest bed or dog beds, or can hang out outside in the large fenced in yard. I live in a home with a large fenced in yard, so they have the option to hang out inside or out throughout the day. My bigger dog really enjoys being outside and my smaller likes to be near me all the time so only likes to go out for potty breaks during the day.

“This was my first time using Rover and I am very pleased. It was such a relief to be able to attend an event and shop in the city and have care for Rascal with Lori that wasn’t traumatic for him. Two thumbs up!”
About: I've taken care of cats and dogs since I was 13. I'm 35. There's plenty of space in the house and a fenced in yard. I am currently staying home for the summer with my 4 year old son. We will be home full time! Let us help with your fur baby! I have a fenced in yard and a basement if the animal needs space. We will take the dogs out regularly. They will be safe and loved here.
About: Dogs must be ok in a kennel. 😊 I have worked on some level in animal welfare my entire life. Since 2013, I own & operate a licensed rescue for dogs. This has given me the opportunity to work with dogs hands on that vary in personalities & behaviors. I can manage dogs with medical and behavioral challenges. This is hard to find. I currently work from home allowing be flexibility to care for your pup(s)! I look forward to helping ease your mind for you know your dogs are safe. I have a 6' fenced yard with no climb fencing secured on the inside of it. I would not leave your dog(s) unattended in the yard regardless. I have my own dogs and I would crate and rotate your dog if needed. I am able to pet sit most any dog but I will need to be crate trained. We do rotations in my home. If your pooch is not crate trained, it will not be able to stay. I have a 6’ privacy fence with no climb fencing installed. We have a great play group of dogs for this that are ready to play. If not, your pooch can do solo play time.
About: I've been around and owned large dogs throughout my life, as well as other small and exotic pets. All guests will meet Gracie, our very friendly service-dog-in-training, who loves to make new friends! Every dog I've owned, I've done at least basic household obedience training with. I'm self-employed, work from home, and have a very flexible schedule. Please check the calendar for blocked dates. Gracie and I typically start our day at 8:00AM, but we can receive visitors as early as 7:00. We start the day with breakfast and yard time before the heat comes in. When it starts to cool off in the evening, Gracie and I walk a 3-mile loop from the house to a nearby wooded trail and back. We have plenty of super chewer toys and treats for larger dogs, and a large fenced in back yard with room to run! Depending on weather, the dogs would spend most of the time in the house during the day. All time in the back yard is supervised. Housebroken dogs are allowed on couches and to roam the house. We also have kennels upstairs and downstairs, if needed.
“Murphy has been going to daycare with Rebecca for a couple of months and has had a great time. Rebecca is a great host and Murphy always comes home happy and tired. She’s the best!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 504 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across West Platte. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your West Platte commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
