About: I have taken care of dogs since i was 12 i've dealt with all different breeds, sizes, and personalities. i'm comfortable with pretty much anything when it comes down to feeding, walking, playtime and basic care. I make sure all pets feel safe and loved while there owners are away for long periods of time. I enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they are happy, comfortable and well cared for. :) i currently work a part time job at a daycare with children while i finish up school. i'm always available on weekends and weekdays after six. When caring for your fur babies I make sure to follow simple instructions such as feeding them accordingly, refill fresh water regularly, take your fur babies out for walks and bathroom breaks, clean their cages/litter box's or any accidents they might have. I also make sure to spend time playing with them and keeping them company. Another thing i'll add in here is that i'll make sure the home is tidy and secure such as locking doors and windows and bringing in the mail if needed. :)
âMichelle did a great job with our pups! She was responsive and kept us updated on how they were doing. She was extremely respectful of our home! If it weren't for the rumpled sheets, she wouldn't have even known she was there! Highly recommend her for house sitting and any care your pups could need!â

About: Hi there! I have been a pet sitter since I was 14, with multi-species experience including: dogs, cats, chickens, hamsters, fish, turtles, and rabbits. I am a life long pet owner as well. I am in my 4th year of studying Animal Behavior, which feeds my interest in enrichment and proper welfare for all animals. I have experience with: ⢠oral medication administration ⢠pets with anxiety ⢠grooming and nail trimming (*depends on your pet's temperament) ⢠enrichment I am available for drop-in visits, walks, or pet-sittings. ***I do not offer boarding due to my own pet for the safety of all pets involved! I'm currently on break for the summer and have full availability during the week to stop in and take your pet for a walk or play session, or house sit for a longer period. I tend to stick to the instructions provided as to keep a normal routine for your pet. For a first time visit, I will get aquatinted with your pet and offer a treat if allowed. I will send photos of your pet when I arrive and leave to offer some peace of mind. For walks, I will take your dog on a stroll around the neighborhood so they can let out some energy and use the restroom, followed by a treat after returning home. Drop-ins are similar where the pet will be taken outside for the restroom if needed and have some playtime to let out some energy. For pet sitting jobs, I tend to ask more questions about your pet to get a better understanding of their needs as well as anything else that will need taken care of such as collecting the mail, or watering plants. No matter the species, each visit will include playing, treats, and lots of pets! When entering or leaving your home, I ensure that the key is placed in the correct spot (to prevent lockouts!) after locking to keep your pet and home safe.
âIt was such a relief to have Aidan caring for my dogs at my house while I was gone on my 8 day vacation. My pups are 14 and 11 years old and have special dietary and medical needs and he was able to keep them well fed, medicated and happy! This was the first time in their whole lives that I didn't have friends or family available to watch them, but I didn't have to worry as Aidan sent pictures and kept me up to date on how things were going. If I am in this situation again Aidan will be the first person I reach out to!â

About: I am American Red Cross certified for Cat and Dog First Aid. Iâve taken care of all kinds of dogs for a little over 10 years, though have grown up with pets in the house for my entire life. I have experience with pets little and big, young and old, as well as a range of personalities and energy levels. I have provided care to dogs belonging to family, friends, neighbors, and even teachers and I have loved each pet as if it were my own. I have experience administering different medications including allergy meds, pills, and joint supplements. Iâm currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to care for pets. I am available for walks during the day as well as overnight stays. I do not offer pet care in my home, while I do have pets of my own they do not do well with new animals so in interest of keeping both my pets and yours happy and safe I only offer services through the clientâs home. The care I provide for pets inside of the clientâs home will be a combination of the instructions provided by the client so that I can provide the pets with their unique routines and my unconditional love and respect for their boundaries and needs. I love taking pets on walks, easing their stress, giving them lots of belly rubs, and making sure they eat all of their food and drink plenty of water!

âAmanda was great with our three Huskyâs. They are all blowing their coats and she did a great job keeping up with the flying fur. Our dogs were so calm and relaxed when we got home, she did a great job of keeping me updated and I didnât have to worry about whether or not they were well cared for during our vacation!â

âMy rescue dog Jack loves Marcy. Everything was taken care of while I was gone. She kept in touch with me and gave me a video od Jack that made me smile. I will definitely call on her again.â

âBrayden did a great job. He was easy to communicate with, was familiar with our training collar, and was able to help when we made a very last minute trip. Our dog is relatively low-maintenance, but Brayden went above and beyond what we asked by taking him on walks in the evening when he was less likely to encounter other dogs (he is dog reactive). Thank you!â

âMs Riley Was The Best She Came and Stayed the Holiday weekend ( Fourth of July) with our Lil Yorkie Edie and she Has A New Best Friend I would definitely recommend Riley she is attentive with pets and People My neighbor came By and they even hit it off Thank you Riley for taking care of Edie like she was your own â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â
About: I am a Division 1 soccer player that manages time very well. With that, I am very active and responsible. I grew up with dogs my whole life and had to end up taking care of 2 of my senior dogs. They were a lot to take care of but, that didnât matter to me as long as they were feeling loved. We have adopted 2 puppies within the past 3 years, so I do understand the commitment it takes to keep them in order. I have taught my puppies tricks, like sit, shake, spin and lay down! I do work part-time in the restaurant business so my shifts only last 4-5 hours max. I am very active, so I get my puppies walked usually 2-3 times a day. Whenever I am pet sitting, I make the pet my priority. I usually plan my schedule on what I have to do around the pet I am sitting. I provide safe, loving care tailored to each petâs routine. In clientsâ homes, I keep their routine consistent with feeding, walks/litter care, and lots of attention, plus regular updates for peace of mind.
âFrank was great, and took wonderful care of our dog Luke. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter. We will be using Frank for all of our future sitting needs.â

About: I absolutely love animals and caring for them! I grew up with 2 dogs and now have 2 cats a dog and an African Grey bird. Iâve been dog sitting for years. I take pride in giving pups the best vacation of their little lives𼰠During the summer I have a very open schedule which makes it easy for me to dog sit or dog walk anytime of the day. I do go on vacation a couple times but usually not for very long, I also have a part-time job at the moment which helps for a flexible schedule to help people and their pets! I am very attentive and loving towards my pets and others I have had in my care. I love being outside and playing with dogs, as well as being responsible for their needs and what the pet owner expects of me.
About: I have had dogs my whole life. I currently own a Catahoula Leopard dog and an Australian Cattle dog. I have been dog sitting since I was 14 and love taking care of/ walking dogs. I am currently a college student on summer break so I have a completely free schedule. I am free to walk or pet sit any time! I have a fenced in yard and two friendly dogs who are well socialized. My dogs are 4 and 1 years old and are medium sized dogs.
âRandy was awesome with Mabel! He walked her endlessly so much so, when we came back, Mabel was so chill! Also, our flights were delayed twice and Randy spent extra time making sure Mabel wouldnât be left alone having to potty for a long time. His care was âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ I also want to commend Randy for how he took care of the house. I have had sitters (not from Rover) who left the house in a shambles: unmade bed, stuff on the kitchen counters, etc, so that when you got home you had to tidy up before you could unpack. Randy had the house like when we left, or better. He was polite, kind, attentive to Mabel and just all around terrific. He is now my âgo toâ guy! Thanks tons Randy!â

âLuna helped us out in a tight situation! We needed a pet sitter at the last minute and she pulled through for us. She was willing to come without meeting our pets before the weekend she came to sit. Luna was responsible and I felt our pets were safe with her. I would definitely ask her to come again.â

About: Each and every animal that I come in contact with I am respectful and calm! I love every pet like itâs my own. Each dog requires different needs and I am completely understanding and will do what it takes for the animal to be the most comfortable and relaxed it can be. I am grateful for the love animals give me and I hope that I can give them that love back. Animals are part of families and I want to provide that comfort when their families are not around! I have expierence with being around all different animals since I was very young. I have been dog sitting since I was 13 years old. I have the experience you want for your loved family member. I work at a veterinary clinic so I have experience with working with all types of breeds. Being a vet assistant I am able to provide for your pet with the knowledge and confidence it takes to take care of any pet!! I work full time at a vet clinic and love to surround myself with all types of different animals! I find comfortable and peace giving people the option to have someone love their pets as my own when they are away! Any needs that your pet may need I am more than comfortable to provide. I deal with many different species and behaviors daily at my job and would love to do whatever your pets need to be comfortable.

Michelle did amazing with our dog lily! She stayed at our home for a full week whole week while we were on vacation. She was very responsive, sent photos of lily, snuggled and loved her the whole time. She got our mail and took the trash out too! She is very knowledgeable about animals and has a very calm presence. Would highly recommend Michelle and look forward to working with her again in the future

FAQs for House Sitting - Wayland
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 638 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wayland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wayland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wayland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wayland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
