About: I’ve spent years around animals, A hippie horse camps as a kid, Some time on an equine rescue ranch in my early twenties nursing horses and dogs back to health, volunteering at local shelters, feeding my Mom's chickens and house sitting for countless friends. I know how to handle different animals and what they actually need. I believe that caring for animals isn't about running a tight ship; it’s about tuning in and going with the flow. My days have long been shaped by animals, I don’t believe in forcing energy on an animal. Instead, I focus on reading their cues, honoring their quirks, and offering a steady, grounded presence so they feel relaxed and safe. Because I work remotely in project coordination, my schedule is naturally fluid and presence driven. I have the flexibility to blend seamlessly into whatever rhythm your pet prefers, whether that means keeping quiet company while they snooze beside my workspace, adjusting meal timing when needed, or simply keeping communication easy and natural while you are away. I work remotely in nonprofit project coordination, so I have real flexibility to care for your pet properly, whether you need local sitting or someone reliable while you travel. I’m equally good with the laid back companion or the high maintenance pet who needs constant attention. You can trust me with your animal. I work remotely which means I show up for your pet with real attention instead of a quick check in. Whether it’s a local sit or you need someone for a road trip, I’m flexible and reliable. Your animal will actually be cared for, not just kept alive until you get back.

I had my own pup for 10 blissful years and he was my world, therefore I passionately understand the importance of proper care for the four-legged members of your family. I am centrally located in Spokane, and am willing to travel to you! About: Hi, I'm Stephanie, and this is my husband Luke. We're your Critter Companions, and with us, two is always better. For overnight stays we work as a team, which means double the attention, double the playtime, and an extra set of eyes on your property. We specialize in residential pet and property care. As independent caretakers, our mission is estate-level care that gives you complete peace of mind: your pets stay comfortable in their own home, and your property is truly looked after, not just checked on. ✦ What We Specialize In We're especially comfortable with the pets and situations that need extra care and attention: ✓ Special needs and senior pets (blind, deaf, mobility-challenged, or behaviorally complex) ✓ Complex medication schedules: pills, injections, eye drops, you name it ✓ High-maintenance breeds that need extensive grooming, intense exercise, or dedicated training ✓ Extended stays, comfortably caring for your pets for weeks or even months at a time ✓ Holiday care, because I don't disappear during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's ✓ Multi-pet households, managing different personalities, feeding schedules, and needs ✓ Anxious or reactive pets, with patient, consistent care that helps nervous animals feel secure ✦ A Little About Us We were both raised around animals, but I turned that passion into my life's work. I've been caring for animals since I was 10 years old, the neighborhood's trusted pet sitter long before it was a profession. Thirteen years later, I've cared for everything from easy-going family dogs to high-maintenance breeds with special medical needs, for stays ranging from long weekends to month-long holidays. What clients tell me sets me apart is how I read animals. I pick up on the subtle changes in behavior, body language, and those little cues that tell you something's off before it becomes a problem. I'm not going through the motions; I love what I do, and that enthusiasm shows in how I care for your pets and your home. ✦ Your Home, Cared For I look after your home just as carefully: mail, plants, trash bins, security checks, and that lived-in presence that keeps your property safe. You'll receive regular photo and video updates so you can truly relax while you're away. ✦ Values You Can Trust Beyond the practical care, we believe the people you let into your home matter just as much as the work they do. We love the Lord, and our faith in Jesus shapes how we run our business and how we treat what's entrusted to us. For us that means a simple, steady lifestyle: we don't drink, smoke, party, or invite guests into your home. While you're away, your house stays exactly as it should, quiet, respected, and cared for, with nothing happening under your roof that you wouldn't welcome yourself. When you hand us your keys, you're trusting us with your home and your family. We take that seriously, and we hold ourselves to it no matter the circumstances. ✦ Let's Connect Over the years I've built lasting relationships with pets and their owners because I treat every home like my own and every pet like family. I'd be honored to earn that same trust from you. If you're looking for someone who will love and protect your pets (and home) like their own, let's connect. Pet care isn't a side hustle for me—it's my primary focus and passion. My husband and I are entrepreneurs with flexible schedules, which means we can provide the kind of attentive, present care that pets truly need. For overnight stays, we're in your home from evening through the following morning (and throughout the day if needed), so your pets are never alone for extended periods. We don't juggle multiple clients at once or rush between appointments. When we commit to caring for your pets, they have our full attention for the duration of your trip. We're available for extended stays including weekends, holidays, and even month-long commitments. Because we work as a team, your pets benefit from having two consistent caregivers who can coordinate schedules, provide extra play sessions, and ensure someone is always nearby if needed. In Your Home: I've been around animals literally since I was an infant—they've always been my comfort, my joy, and honestly, my obsession. There's something about the presence of animals that just feels like home to me, and that's exactly the energy I bring to your pets and property. As the owner of a young, energetic Miniature Australian Shepherd, I know firsthand what it takes to meet the demands of intelligent, high-energy breeds. I'm devoted to keeping my own dog mentally stimulated, physically tired, and emotionally fulfilled—and I bring that same level of commitment to every pet in my care. Your pets aren't just a job to me; they're loved and treated with the same compassion and attention I give my own. Pet Safety & Care: ✓I follow your routines exactly—feeding times, medication schedules, exercise patterns, and house rules ✓Secure all doors, windows, and gates before letting pets outside (no escape artists on my watch!) ✓Keep toxic plants, foods, and hazards out of reach ✓Monitor pets closely for any changes in behavior, appetite, or health ✓Have your vet information and emergency contacts readily accessible ✓Never introduce your pets to unfamiliar animals or people without permission ✓Provide the mental stimulation and physical activity your pets need to stay happy and healthy Home Security & Cleanliness: ✓Maintain a "lived-in" presence with lights, blinds, and your normal routine ✓Collect mail and packages to avoid signaling an empty home ✓Take trash bins to/from curb on collection days ✓Water plants and maintain your home's appearance ✓Provide regular photo/video updates so you can see everything (and everyone) is doing great ✓I pride myself on attention to detail and cleanliness—you'll come home to a thoroughly cleaned space that exceeds expectations Trust & Respect: I treat your home with the utmost respect—no unauthorized guests ever and I leave your space cleaner than I found it. My husband and I work as a team, which means your pets get double the love and your home gets double the oversight. The best part? When you walk through that door after your trip, your pets will be more giddy than ever to see you—well-exercised, well-loved, and so happy you're home. And you can relax knowing everything was handled with care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
