Our pup had a wonderful day. She played and played and is super relaxed and mellow. We got several reports on what she was doing, even pictures, over the day so we felt well informed. We definitely will ask Kathy and Tim to care for Mela in the future.

My dog had a fabulous time at daycare with Mikia, her daughter and her dog Zara. I received some great photos (including some funny ones of the dogs wrestling) and felt comfortable knowing the dog was having a good time, socializing and burning off her adolescent energy while I was at work. Highly recommend!

I would definitely recommend to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thank you again for the care you gave to our pup for the day!!!

I cannot overstate what a lifesaver Jennifer was on our vacation. We had an air BNB that allowed dogs, but not unattended and were visiting friends with a cat who turned out to be dog phobic. We booked Jennifer the day before we left and she was so welcoming and flexible with pick up and drop off times and with her extensive kennel hours. My dog loved her own special vacation; with puppy playtime and hiking in the woods. She came home relaxed and super tired! The true marker of her own good review, was how happy she was to go back the next day! Thanks, Jennifer :)

Kyle took excellent care of my elderly Maltese, Sammy. It was a relief that he was able to take care of Sammy on short notice and give my skittish dog a calm place to stay. He always responded quickly to messages and sent me a picture of Sammy each day. I would happily let him watch Sammy again if we come back to Ithaca.

About: I've cared for dogs of different sizes over the years and I love to cuddle, walk, and pamper pups. We have a fenced in back yard and I like to take long walks with dogs if they're up for it. We have a 4 year old boxer/hound mix who is sweet with people but not great with other dogs. We keep him away from guest dogs, there's lots of room in the house for each dog to have their own space and still get lots of love from me and the family. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I take breaks through the day to care for puppies, whether that's a quick potty break, fun walk, or play time with balls and toys. When boarding, I make sure pups get any meds they need, plenty of time outside, and snuggles on the couch (if they're the snuggling type). I know some dogs need longer or shorter walks, and I make adjustments based on what they need.

About: I have raised and cared for my families dogs as well as my own personal pets since I was a child. From puppy days to senior life, I have experienced it all and have enjoyed every moment of it. For me, having dogs around is a must! I currently work 4 days a week at a brewery in Rochester. I am available for walks and check-ins Tuesday/Wed all day, Thursday-Friday 8am-11am. Sunday's are open and negotiable as well! I enjoy spending time outside (park, trails, yard) with the active dogs, and talked to/petting the lazy/sleepy ones while they lounge inside. I live close to some wonderful parks, and enjoy throwing a ball around or just taking a stroll.

About: I have grown up around dogs my entire love and absolutely love them. I have one small rescue dog of my own who I trained on my own. I spend my weekends at the Cleveland Animal Protective League walking and training all different types of dogs, so I have experience with any type of dog you could think of! I also have my own dog treat business on the side where I make all organic, natural and healthy dog treats and sell them to friends and family. I am very flexible with my availability and want nothing more than to spend some time giving your dog a great walk and some TLC. I have my own car and am free around the clock on weekends and most weekdays. I am comfortable with multiple dogs and have never met an animal I didn't love!

About: I actively foster dogs/puppies on a consistent basis for several years. I've worked with the same Animal Rescue for a long period of time and have experience with many different situations. With the Rescue I regularly handle different scenarios and medical needs, from new born pups to seniors! I'm comfortable with all shapes, sizes, and medical history. Most temperaments I have lots of experience with as well. I work from home full-time. I'm home all day every day Monday-Friday. My weekends only consist of a few errands making me gone for no longer than 4-5 hours at a time. I have a 7ft tall, fully fenced, back yard. I can kennel a dog if needed, but generally they would be out hanging with me. No dog will be left unattended, inside or outside, for long periods of time. I have two adult dogs in the home that can be introduced or remain separate if needed. I also have a 6yr old in the home that loves and is respectful of all animals.

About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 9 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 6 year old lab mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 5 year old miniature fox terrier mix who has unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!

Bill and Emma were wonderful. Our pup had a GREAT time spending the day. We picked him up exhausted from play and happy as a clam. Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Watkins Glen on Rover is $44.4 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 70 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Watkins Glen. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Watkins Glen commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 70 sitters in Watkins Glen, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
