“Kerri and her husband are amazing dog sitters. They sent me pictures and videos during the day and I could see that Ollie had a great time. I highly recommend Kerri and will bring Ollie back when I need another doggy day care.”

“Booked last minute when previous sitter backed out night before doggy day care was to begin. They also have dogs which worked out even better since my pup loves to play. This family is my “go to” when I come up to visit. Can’t thank them enough for helping us for this New Year holiday.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care, attention, and consistency I provide. I don’t just “watch” dogs — I take the time to understand their routines, personalities, and comfort needs so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I intentionally limit the number of dogs I care for at one time, allowing for individualized attention, a calm environment, and plenty of affection. In our home, dogs are surrounded by love — including from my daughter, who genuinely enjoys helping care for them and gives them extra cuddles, playtime, and attention. With regular updates, clear communication, and genuine care, every dog is treated like family — never just another booking. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I work from home full-time. This allows me to be present throughout the day for walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship—rather than leaving dogs alone for long stretches. I also have a small Yorkie at home, which helps keep our daily schedule consistent and structured, from regular potty breaks to walk times and meals. We’re lucky to have a nearby dog park that we walk to daily, giving dogs regular exercise, fresh air, and social enrichment as part of their routine. This established rhythm creates a calm, predictable environment where dogs can settle in quickly, while I remain available to supervise, respond to needs, and provide plenty of affection throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible to minimize stress, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and preferred play or rest times. I treat each home with respect and provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so pet parents have peace of mind. In both settings, pets are cared for with patience, affection, and individualized attention—never rushed and never treated like just another booking.
About: I’ve hosted and cared for dogs on my farm, Laurel Branch Gardens, for the last 16 years. I have my own dog, Brin, and an indoor cat named June. I live and work on the farm full time, so your dog will have regular access to four fenced acres to run and play. Hello I’m Evan and I live and work on my farm full time so your dog will stay inside my house and enjoy the outside regularly along with my dog, Brin. A couple of days a week I leave to drop off and pick up my kids from school or sports, but I’m on the farm most of the time. I have four acres fenced around the farmhouse for your dog to run and play with mine. My dog Brin is a playful four year old lab/hound mix that loves meeting new friends. The dogs can come and go from the house, so your pup will have a lot of time to run, but will be safe and in the house as needed.

“Gretchen was absolutely amazing with our dog, Molly. This was our first time using Rover, and naturally we were a little nervous leaving her with someone new, especially because Molly can be anxious and has a few special considerations. Gretchen immediately put us at ease. She was kind, attentive, communicative, and clearly cared about making Molly feel safe and comfortable in her home. We received updates and could tell Molly was being genuinely cared for, not just watched. Gretchen was also very patient with Molly’s quirks and made the entire experience stress-free for us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and attentive.”

“Brandi and John were exceedingly accommodating and helpful! I needed last-minute daycare and I am so grateful. My dog was happy when I picked him up and they sent me pictures throughout the day. I highly recommend them!”

About: I have been around dogs my whole life. Dogs seem to take to me well. I’ve worked as a junior groomer for a few months and trained my own dog. Not professionally, but he listens and understands. I’ve always loved dogs and been an animal person! I have an almost 4 month old baby so I have been a SAHM. I love to work and would like to help my family more. This way I can be at home loving on my son and also your fur babies! We just moved into our forever home due to my husband being retired Navy. We got married in Hawaii where he was stationed and I grew up. Our neighborhood was military and I would watch peoples dogs, board, check ins, walks. I worked at a doggie daycare and became close with a client who would bring her dog over to me to watch instead. Also, became very close with some people in the neighborhood whom I’ve take care of their dogs and now can say are friends like family!
“Teri was AMAZING! My dog Delilah is always super anxious around sitters, but she settled in very quickly with Teri. Teri was sweet, loving, kind, and gentle with my baby girl. Definitely a good pick!”

“Bella just love to visit Sonia and Jeff and their dog Abby. She runs to Jeff with tail wagging when I drop her off. It is her second best home and I’m so happy that she is well cared for when I’m at work.”

“Dawn is a great dog sitter. She took lots of photos, and her dog Rice was a wonderful host too! She took care of Ruby and Toasty for the day in her home as a "trial run" to make sure all 3 dogs were compatible so we will definitely be using her in the future for extended stays. Highly recommend.”

“Tori and Zachary watched our dog for the day at their home. He fit in great with their own dogs. He loved running around a fenced in backyard, and came home nice and tired. We will gladly use them again.”

“Skirla (aka Sorel) is great! Sushi normally barks and growls at everyone but not her! I feel comfortable leaving my baby with her for my week long vacation and will book again when the need arises.”

As of August 2026, there are 617 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Watkins. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Watkins commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
