“Spent lots of time with my kitties was just what the doctor ordered! They are so needy and lovey and Rob gave them the attention they desired. They are also usually weary of men but not Rob, they were completely comfortable hanging out together.”

“Stephanie was wonderful! I was super comfortable leaving her with my babies and my home. She is very knowledgeable about all types of animals and handled any issues with ease, while keeping me informed and updated. I'm so appreciative and will definitely use her again!”

“Robyn was a wonderful sitter for our animals. She gave great updates throughout our vacation and she treated our pets like her own. They looked like they so much fun with Robyn and were definitely spoiled all week. Thank you Robyn!”

“Ariel was absolutely wonderful with my baby BubbieLoo! He requires medicine for his Epilepsy and she was great with meds and giving me lots of updates. Would highly recommend her!!”

“We went out of the country for about 10 days. We have two elderly dogs one of whom now requires extra special attention and care with his diet and feeding schedule. We feel very confident that our dogs were cared for the same or better than we could do ourselves. We came home to a very nicely got home, and our dogs were very happy to see us, but we're very calm and had clearly been cared for in our absence. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our pets. Thank you so much for the note taking that you did and for making our minds at ease while we were gone.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for most of my life and have provided pet sitting services for family and friends since 2020. As a lifelong dog owner, I understand the importance of maintaining routines, recognizing behavioral cues, and creating a safe, comfortable environment for every dog. I currently care for my own dog, Tessa, and have experience with dogs of varying ages, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. My hands-on experience includes caring for large and independent breeds such as German Shepherd/Akita mixes and Shiba Inus. Through regular pet sitting, I’ve become comfortable managing multi-dog households, administering feeding schedules, reinforcing established training routines, and providing enrichment through play, walks, and positive interactions. I’ve also lived with multiple dogs throughout college, giving me extensive experience adapting to different personalities, obedience levels, and exercise needs. I have experience supporting basic training, including house training, crate training, leash manners, and positive reinforcement techniques. Whether your dog is highly active, prefers a slower pace, or needs consistency with an existing routine, I strive to provide dependable care that helps pets feel secure while you’re away. Pet care is a regular part of my daily life. As a lifelong dog owner and experienced pet sitter, I’m used to planning my routine around feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and companionship. I’m currently a student in a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program, which has strengthened my time management skills and attention to detail. I have clinical rotations on Mondays and Tuesdays and classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8–10 a.m., so I’m generally available most afternoons, evenings, Fridays, and many weekends with advance notice. I only accept bookings that fit comfortably within my schedule to ensure every pet gets the attention and care they deserve. I prioritize keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. In my clients’ homes, I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, medications, crate routines, and any training cues or household rules. Safety is always my top priority. I double-check doors, gates, leashes, and collars before going outside and make sure pets are supervised during playtime and interactions with other animals. I understand that every pet has a different personality and comfort level, so I take time to build trust at their pace—whether they need extra playtime, a calm environment, or a little extra patience. As an MLT student, I’m detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are safe and well cared for while they’re away.
“Came back home to clean house and happy dogs. Definitely felt at ease while Sophie was watching all 4 doggies. She was in constant communication and followed instructions well!”

“Eric is first and foremost a very kind person. He is obviously a pet lover, and our dog Daisy enjoys being the beneficiary of his attention. In fact, this morning she was looking for him, and I had to convince her to eat her breakfast! Eric is also great at staying in touch. I never have to wonder how things are going as there are photos and notes to reassure me. I guess I am a helicopter pet mom, so this is great. If I had to go on an extended trip and leave my pup, Eric would be my first and perhaps only choice. If you want to travel with confidence, look no further.”

“Nathan was patient with my older dog Jewel who takes longer to warm up to new people but once she does she loves you! He was also great my with new puppy who is still learning the lay of the land. I would recommend him to all of my friends and book him again!”

“Hannah aka Mikki house sat for us and watched our mini dachshund. We did a meet and greet a few days prior to our trip (which we booked with her on short notice) and she was so great with Banjo, even totally unphased by his typical dachshund barking. She seems to truly love her job and love animals. She checked in while we were out of town and sent pictures. This was hands down the best experience we’ve ever had with a Rover sitter and we will absolutely be booking her again.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and other animals for over 18 years, and it’s truly something I love doing. Throughout that time, I’ve had the opportunity to care for puppies, senior dogs, and every age and personality in between. From daily walks and feeding schedules to bathing, playtime, and overnight care, I’ve worked with dogs in a variety of settings and understand that each one has unique needs. I’m also a dog parent myself. My 8-year-old rescue pup has taught me so much about patience, trust, and helping a dog feel safe and loved. Supporting her as she healed from past trauma has deepened my understanding of animal behavior and reinforced my belief that every pet deserves compassionate and individualized care. Whether your pet needs a walk, companionship while you’re away, or someone to keep up with their daily routine, I will care for them with the same love that I give my own. I currently work full-time remotely in the Lebanon area, which allows me to have a flexible schedule and be available throughout the day for pet care needs. Whether your pet needs drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, or overnight care, I’m often able to accommodate a variety of schedules. I understand how important it is to have someone dependable caring for your pets while you’re away, and I strive to provide consistent, attentive care while keeping their routine as normal as possible. Feel free to reach out with your specific needs, and I’ll do my best to find a schedule that works for both of us. I strive to provide a safe, warm, and trustworthy environment where pets can feel at home. As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to leave your furry family member with someone who will care for them as their own. My 8-year-old rescue pup helps make our home a welcoming place for visiting dogs. Whether they want to play, explore, lounge on the couch, or simply enjoy the company of another dog, she’s great at meeting them where they are. Together, we create an environment where dogs can feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while you’re away.
About: Incredible and unmatched skills with holding the leash steady when the fur baby finds a new friend haha. I have experience working with elderly, sick, and disabled dogs, and my experience includes cleaning dog kennels, and making sure to consistently medicate. Although I am new to the caregiver scene I will reassure you that your pup is in good hands! Animals have always been made a big part of my life that I have always loved. I am usually finding something to do, and loving and caring for animals is just my forte :) I will be available to maintain your pets health including aid of pre-scripted medications, I am also available for dog walks, and am more than willing to dog sit at your home and provide a good and clean environment for both you and your pet!
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was young. Growing up, my family always had at least one dog. Over the years I have dog sat for many friends and family. I currently have one family that I sit for fairly regularly. Additionally, I have two pups of my own: a pug, and a shih-poo. Additionally, I have experience in bathing and administering medication. I am currently off of work for the summer! I have been working in education; however, I am looking to go back to school, to further my education later this year. I plan to continue dog walking/sitting once I return to my studies. At home, I have a fenced in yard, where my dogs love to run around. I do not crate my own pets, but am able to crate any dogs that I am watching, as needed.
About: I started working with animals about 2 1/2 years ago for a friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've had dogs my entire life. I currently have a German shepherd mix and 2 cats. My schedule recently is super flexible, so I am able to work around many specific hours. The only times I would most like to keep open is weekends. I have dog sat in others homes many times. I take the dog on walks, potty, play time, and if wanted cuddle time! I also clean up any mess made by myself or the dog and do cleaning when I see needed. I’m very good at keeping on schedule with pets so whatever needs they have I can fulfill that!

FAQs for House Sitting - Watertown
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,849 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Watertown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Watertown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Watertown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Watertown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
