“Natasha took delicate care not only of my pet, but of my space too. My cat is on the shy side and can be slow to warm up to new people, but I can attest that Natasha's energy can bring those types out of their shell. I occasionally received picture and video updates which I loved. I highly recommend Natasha--she's dependable, respectful, and trustworthy.”

“Cari is great with my boyz - they settled in easily with her and she gave really nice updates while we were away. Very mature, responsive and responsible- the kind of person you want watching your fur- babies🥰”

“Nick is an awesome pet sitter! He and his wife, Mary Kate, took great care of our dogs and cats during a last minute weekend stay. Helo and Lupa loved spending time outside and playing fetch with them. They sent pictures and were quick to respond to texts. We’ve booked him again for another weekend so we highly recommend him and Mary Kate!”

About: I have taken care/ rescue dogs since I was about 15 year old I’ve worked with farm dogs big dogs small dogs, I’m very reliable when it comes to walks hikes feeding snacks an okay time, I have my own high e every dog with separation anxiety he’s a two year old husky, I’m patient an very kind, an I hope I get the chance to work with you fur babies I’m currently in school a would really love to use this as a part time flexible schedule, I have morning and some evening open to be able to check on your fur baby! I care for pets the best way I know how so if I feel like it would be safer for your dog to be walked alone an not with other dogs I will do that, I will fallow instructions if any were left for me etc
“Kallyn has watched our house and our Annie, twice now. Both times, she’s been great and Annie loves her! She’s helped us with things around the house that need to be done while we are gone and she keeps us updated on Annie. We especially love the pictures that we get. We highly recommend her!!”

“Haley was absolutely incredible with Gypsy (11 yr old anxious reacue dog) and Raya (5 yr old Ragamuffin attention magnet). From the very first complimentary meet and greet, I could tell she was professional and genuinely invested. She came prepared, took detailed notes, asked for emergency contacts, confirmed which vet to use in case of emergency, and made sure she had exact medication dosages. She even asked about each dog’s specific quirks so she could support them in the way they’re used to. That level of thoroughness meant everything to me. Communication during the stay was wonderful. She sent regular photo updates and kept me posted on how they were doing, which gave me total peace of mind. She treated my home with so much care, and I came back to a house that was cleaner than when I left it. She even left the sweetest little coaster as a gift that I found after she left. It said “Sweet Kitten,” and it was such a thoughtful, personal touch. For context, I am a very cautious pet parent, and Gypsy is extremely anxious when separated from me. This was the first time I have ever left them with anyone outside of family, so I was understandably nervous. Haley handled it beautifully. Gypsy was calm, comfortable, and clearly felt safe. I did not worry once all weekend. I truly knew they were in loving, capable hands. Haley is sweet, responsible, attentive, and a joy to work with. And, for those that perhaps run a little late, Haley was able to be flexible with my arrival back home as well. I will ABSOLUTELY be booking her again and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet parent, especially those with anxious pups who need extra care and sensitivity.”

“Vicki did a great job taking care of Tucker, she followed his routine, played fetch and hung out in the back yard, some of his favorite activities. She kept us updated with texts and pictures. We would ask her back again.”

“Seth was a fantastic pet sitter. His communication was excellent and prompt, he sent great pics of the pets during our entire trip so I felt confident in their ongoing well-being, and he left the house in amazing shape. He even put up with the fact that our cats have an extremely annoying wake-everyone-up-at-5:00 AM habit ... his patience with our all of our pets' quirks and needs was exceptional. I will book him again!”

“Bre took such great care of Harley and my home while I was away this weekend. She provided great updates and photos with very prompt responses. It’s very apparent her love and knowledge of animals, especially dogs. Thank you again Bre !”

“Savannah was absolutely awesome with our dog! Her communication leading up to the stay, along with check-ins was wonderful. I never worried as I knew Shandy was well taken care of. On top of doing a great job with Shandy she went over and beyond to clean, wash bedding/towels and pick-up, which was not expected but very much appreciated. Thank you so much Savannah for taking such great care of Shandy and our home while we were away. It truly means the world as we didn't have to worry at all. Look forward to next time! Thanks again :)”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats (and other animals) since I was a kid. A proud godmother of a Yorkshire Terrier, a sweet gentleman. Got on Rover during college, and I absolutely loved it. My situation makes it hard to raise my own pets, so I take the chance to be around them whenever I could. I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility and time to provide attentive care for animals, including long walks and companionship. This allows me to be consistently present and available while pet sitting. I’m not currently able to host pets in my own space, but I take the time to get familiar with each new environment so I can provide the best possible care. I make communication with owners a priority, especially when learning the details of a new home or routine.
About: I am a retired Certified Veterinary Technician. I have 30 years of caring for my own furry family members. I am trusted by friends and neighbors to enter their homes and care for their beloved pets. I have a spacious home and fenced in yard. I can care for those with special needs. I am a newly single mother looking for income doing what comes naturally. I am a care giver by nature. My schedule is open. I am available for your needs. I have a senior dog that suffers from separation anxiety. He has always been by my side. He is gentle and gets along with all other animals. I have 3 rescued cats, one of which has special dietary needs. I am well trusted by my friends and neighbors to care for their furry family members while they are away at appointments or a 2 week long vacation. I am trusted to enter their homes, as well as have their pets in my home.
“Sharron did an amazing job watching Walter our bull dog. We highly recommend her as she is reliable, great at communicating, and overall she does very well with taking care of dogs. Thank you, Sharron, for watching our boy and the house. You did an amazing job.”

“Dylan was absolutely amazing with Hazel and our house. He gave us nightly reports, followed all of her normal routines, and walked her multiple times each day. I could tell she was well loved and cared for in our absence. I hope he can dog sit for us again!”

“Bailey was great! Very thorough communication and quick responses to all my questions. She sent plenty of pictures over the weekend and cleaned up the house before she left. We will definitely book with her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wastedo
Anyka was not able to sit for the entire time frame due to some personal issues. She arrived as scheduled and the dogs and the cat were happy to see her. Around 12 pm I received a text that she would not be able to finish the entire time, she would stay the night. She offered another person to take her place, her boyfriend, if it was okay with us. While I was a little hesitant, there really was no other option, so I agreed. It was a good choice. Sawyer was good with the animals and took good care of them. He was attentive to the needs of the animals and everyone was happy and content when we returned. The house was good and everything was neat and clean. So glad Anyka had a backup plan to work this out.

Anyka was not able to sit for us due to personal issues but her boyfriend Sawyer stepped in and covered her scheduled days and times. Sawyer did a great job this time, and the dogs and cat were happy to see him again. Our return flight was delayed by almost 6 hours, I called Sawyer and asked if he was able to come back and let the dogs out, and feed them, due to our unforeseen delay. He didn’t hesitate to help us out. He was a saving grace for the dogs. Will work with both Anyka and Sawyer again as needs arise.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wastedo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wastedo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wastedo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wastedo. On Rover:
- 84% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
