Cari is absolutely amazing! She is warm and conscientious and took the time to get to know our cat and dog with their various quirks! Great communicator. I did not worry about the pets for the entire trip! Not only was she great with the animals, she took care of the house and even folded laundry/sheets we left in the dryer.

Haley was absolutely incredible with Gypsy (11 yr old anxious reacue dog) and Raya (5 yr old Ragamuffin attention magnet). From the very first complimentary meet and greet, I could tell she was professional and genuinely invested. She came prepared, took detailed notes, asked for emergency contacts, confirmed which vet to use in case of emergency, and made sure she had exact medication dosages. She even asked about each dog’s specific quirks so she could support them in the way they’re used to. That level of thoroughness meant everything to me. Communication during the stay was wonderful. She sent regular photo updates and kept me posted on how they were doing, which gave me total peace of mind. She treated my home with so much care, and I came back to a house that was cleaner than when I left it. She even left the sweetest little coaster as a gift that I found after she left. It said “Sweet Kitten,” and it was such a thoughtful, personal touch. For context, I am a very cautious pet parent, and Gypsy is extremely anxious when separated from me. This was the first time I have ever left them with anyone outside of family, so I was understandably nervous. Haley handled it beautifully. Gypsy was calm, comfortable, and clearly felt safe. I did not worry once all weekend. I truly knew they were in loving, capable hands. Haley is sweet, responsible, attentive, and a joy to work with. And, for those that perhaps run a little late, Haley was able to be flexible with my arrival back home as well. I will ABSOLUTELY be booking her again and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any pet parent, especially those with anxious pups who need extra care and sensitivity.

Seth was a fantastic pet sitter. His communication was excellent and prompt, he sent great pics of the pets during our entire trip so I felt confident in their ongoing well-being, and he left the house in amazing shape. He even put up with the fact that our cats have an extremely annoying wake-everyone-up-at-5:00 AM habit ... his patience with our all of our pets' quirks and needs was exceptional. I will book him again!

About: I am flexible. As a substitute teacher I am able to work different times throughout the week and weekends are generally open. I can generally make anything work. I work 8:30-4:05pm most weekdays but am free in the evenings and weekends. Communication is key, and I can make most things work with my schedule. I cannot do service in home but can do walks and sitting at your home. I currently live with roommates so this is unrealistic for me:

About: I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember, growing up with five at a time—mostly black labs and black lab/German shepherd mixes—so I’m very used to bigger, stronger dogs. My dad often took us to dog events when I was a kid, which gave me plenty of experience handling all kinds of breeds and personalities. Along the way, I also picked up basic training skills, so I know how to keep dogs engaged, cared for, and comfortable. I’m currently a full time college student but I would be able give pet care in between classes during the day and some some weekends as needed When I care for pets in your home, I always follow their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they get plenty of love, attention, exercise, and playtime while keeping things consistent with their food, walks, and sleeping schedule. I’m happy to reinforce any training or commands you use, and I’ll keep your home tidy while making sure your pet always has fresh water and a cozy space. I also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your best friend is happy and cared for.

About: I work remotely in marketing full time. We’re very grateful to have a nice home with a wonderful, large, fenced-in backyard that allows the dogs to go potty in and explore (bark!). My availability and hours are very flexible and the dogs are rarely left alone or kenneled, they are free to roam the house, I just close doors as necessary. I have never owned a dog of my own, I just grew up around dogs and cats. Mainly and most recently, it was a sisters two dogs our family spent the most time around: Gibbs (15 lb., 13 yr old, male Jack Russell Terrier & Beagle mix) and Zero (65 lb., 5 yr old, male Standard Poodle). I would basically Rover for her and her husband, which including giving the senior, anxiety-ridden dog meds (he didn’t enjoy, he would spit them up). We enjoyed being outdoors and evening walks around the neighborhood and having them a part of our family. They have then since moved to the West coast with their dogs. I work remotely and am blessed with the work-life balance it offers. I have an energetic elementary school-aged daughter. She's an empath and truly cares for all animals wellbeing! She's deeply concerned about any discomfort or distress. We have a dog-friendly orange cat named Buddy (4). He's fed first thing in the AM and enjoys chin scratches. He stays nearby me in my office or does his own thing. My daughter buses to and from school and I take a hour lunch at noon, then am done at 5 PM and we go about our evening routine. Dogs go out every few hours (sliding patio door) to the fenced in yard or when they signal me. Right in the morning and before bed. I try to get as much activity in for us as possible, especially on decent weather days. We utilize a nearby parks, dog park and walking trails in our community. Having the dogs here really motivate me to go for more walks, the dogs love them and I appreciate the eager walking company. I also live with my younger sister (23). She works full time 2 jobs as a CNA/retail, isn't home much but does help me care for the dogs, such as a short walk around the block. Our home is a 4 bed, 3 level split with a finished basement. It has a large secure, fully-fenced in yard and the property has 11 trees. Garage is attached. We all sleep in the upstairs bedrooms which is also where my office is. I have 2 litter boxes for my cat, one in garage that he prefers. The other is in the basement bathroom, where I can keep the door shut (Ive caught sisters dog eating litter covered turds). Our neighborhood is very safe and quiet. I have a reflective sash I wear out at night (this summer I was nearly ran over by an SUV when it was dark). The dogs usually sleep on the floor in my room and it's OK if they sleep on the bed, I am not concerned about fur. If the dog stinks, I can give them a bath either downstairs in the wash tub or upstairs in the bathtub. If they stay longer and start to stink, I will bathe them, because everyone feels better after a bath.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats (and other animals) since I was a kid. A proud godmother of a Yorkshire Terrier, a sweet gentleman. Got on Rover during college, and I absolutely loved it. My situation makes it hard to raise my own pets, so I take the chance to be around them whenever I could. I work remotely, which gives me the flexibility and time to provide attentive care for animals, including long walks and companionship. This allows me to be consistently present and available while pet sitting. I’m not currently able to host pets in my own space, but I take the time to get familiar with each new environment so I can provide the best possible care. I make communication with owners a priority, especially when learning the details of a new home or routine.

About: I have loved and cared for dogs my whole life. I’ve always had a dog since i was little and i always adored them. I have worked with dogs for about a year now at Camp Bow Wow, where we supervised play, grooming, and gave breakfast and dinner. I’ve had experience with almost every kind of dog you can think of, and I’m good in any kind of situation. I am only working mornings and am completely free in my late afternoon/ evenings. I would love to spend my free time with some furry friends i Typically bring my dog for a walk everyday! He is super active so i try to get him outdoors and get some energy out!

FAQs for House Sitting - Veseli

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,913 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Veseli. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Veseli walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Veseli maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Veseli choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Veseli. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 99% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
