“Savannah is amazing! I asked to watch Ophelia 3 hours before I had to go to work and she got back to me within an hour and let me bring Ophelia over even though it was last minute! Not only is she flexible and reliable but she took beautiful care of my pup. Despite Ophelia’s excitement to see me she still was clearly very fond of Savannah and wanted to say goodbye. My only fear is my dog wants to stay at her house 😊 Nathalia allows for great play time outside that is safe—she has a fenced in backyard and long leashes if there’s more than one dog, yay! Indoors my pup is always playing with a bone, toy, other dog or contently napping. I get plenty of updates throughout the day and it’s just so awesome to know she is being well-cared for. Lula gets so much attention and love I never have worry, it’s been so great. And she comes home tired and content, hard to do with my high-energy girl!! I highly recommend 💕🐾”

About: I grew up on the family farm surrounded by dogs and cats and all kinds of animals - caring for them was part of my life. That lifelong connection led me to volunteer at a local dog and cat shelter where I've gained even more experience with pets of all temperaments and needs. About your dog's experience in our home: My home office is on the main floor, and I'm aware of all activity in my small-ish house. Your dog can rest on the sofa, futon, rugs, or the big dog bed--or in a kennel if they prefer. I have a fenced yard with room to run. Our friendly 10-year-old, 35-pound boxer mutt, Kiri, enjoys playing with small dogs. But she's not at all pushy. :-) About caring for timid animals: I had a deep, deep bond with a very timid cat, and I just have a super soft spot in my heart for them. I had a shy young kiddo. One of my "day jobs" is a coach for introverted people: I help people honor their introversion, including their need for quiet, calm, and solitude. About my profile photos: I'm the one in the family who takes the photos, so it's nearly impossible to find a photo of ME and Kiri. :-} I include some photos of our house and yard (kids' faces blurred) to give you a sense of our space. Kiri is part of our family. She hangs out in the common spaces with us, and in the backyard. We take her to the dog park or on daily neighborhood walks. The first 3 photos are at dog parks. About: Hello! I am a stay at home mom to a 1.5 year old little girl and I am looking to make some extra cash for our family. I've owned dogs since I was a little girl. I have had two labs, one Boston terrier, one pug, and one chihuahua. My husband and I have two dogs of our own, a Mini Australian Shepard and a Lab/Dachshund mix. I love all animals and will dedicate my time to taking care of, having fun, and being a companion to them. I have always been a dog person, but have also owned a cat in the past. She sent several photos of Buttercup and it's clear that she worked hard to ensure Buttercup was comfortable throughout her whole stay. Pickup and drop-off was easy and convenient/close to downtown. About: Located on 10 acres in rural Hoyt, Kansas, Hughes & Hounds provides a spacious safe haven for your furry family members. Our set-up, previously used for dog breeding, includes two (working on three) spacious backyard pens that are the full package deal, including: big shade trees, big water bowls, a doggie igloo and free doggie treats (if you approve of course!). For a small additional fee, you may request a small dog pool in your dog's pen for the duration of their stay, for those hot summer months. Please note that our dog daycare and boarding services are OUTDOOR ONLY and really for farm/outside dogs, bigger dogs, or dogs with high energy. We will accept any sized dog as long as they’re used to staying outside during the day! With two young kids in the home, we will only bring your dogs inside if the owner provides a crate and only if requested for night time (with the exception of severe weather where they would be crated indoors as well). Our schedules are unique in that we are home most days, aside from running errands, and will be able to check on your furry pals often during their week & weekend stays with us. We are flexible and want to make sure your wishes are heard. So if you want us to play with your dogs, send you pictures, give treats - we are here for it. But if your dog prefers to not be bothered too much and is good with the essentials - we are here for that too. You tell us how we can provide the most comfortable atmosphere for your dogs. As far as experience goes, I've been a dog sitter on and off from elementary school through college and have volunteered lots of hours to our local shelter.... I love dogs and they're in good hands! :) This is a NEW and fun business adventure for our small family and we do not take it lightly! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions-we will respond promptly. I stay at home with my kids and my husband's schedule allows him to be home more days than not so we feel confident that we can take good care of your dog(s) while they stay here. Since we have the space we thought "why not?" when it came to the idea of dog boarding. We were not using our back 3 pens, other than allowing our dogs to roam them. There were some escape artists when the pens were originally used for breeding, so safety features include covered corners so dogs are unable to climb up and out using the corner fencing. Cement was also laid around the boundaries of the pens so digging cannot occur. If your dog likes to jump fences that would be a concern and a reason why we may not be a good fit for you. Of course, plenty of cold, fresh water will always be available to your dog(s) during their stay.
