Carl’s space is fantastic for any pets, our dog loved being there. I will absolutely reach out to Carl first in the future for any sitting needs.”

“Debra is an incredibly caring and well organized care giver. Our Hazel is kind of delicate, has some tummy issues, delicate teeth, and also separation anxiety. She was with Debra for 5 days while we were out of town and Debra followed all our detailed notes and sent us regular updates throughout the day. We could see that Hazel was having a great time, getting lots of attention, playing with toys, watching the world from the huge window Debra has. She came back totally herself, with no signs of the stress which we have noticed with some other sitters. I would highly recommend Debra and we will definitely have Hazel stay with her especially for longer stays.”

“Our miniature Australian Shepherd pixel always has a wonderful time when he stays with Catherine. She is a great communicator and does a fantastic job ensuring that he gets plenty of activity and interaction. Thank you!!”

“Felix was an incredible dog-sitter! Shared lots of photos and videos, plus humorous 2x daily summaries of our quirky dog’s adventures, leaving me confident our Pug was having fun, well loved and cared for! Our dog got along great with Felix and his Boxer! Felix provided prompt and thorough feedback. Highly recommend and would definitely book again!”

“Amazing! I booked a last minute stay over Fourth of July weekend and Mana was so accommodating. She squeezed in a pre stay introduction for the dogs, then took amazing care of Obi over the three days. I got so many photos (and a video) and she even refilled my poop bag dispenser from her own stash when ours ran out and sent obi home with a little extra treat. Outstanding sitter, would book again without hesitation.”

About: I have my own furry friend, Milo, a 4-year-old bundle of joy. In addition to caring for Milo, I’ve been cat sitting for a few years, providing attentive and loving care to a variety of feline personalities. I know firsthand how much peace of mind it gives to know your cat is in good hands while you're away. I adore spending time with cats, from the playful and energetic to the quiet and shy. Every cat has their unique personality, and I tailor my approach to their specific needs. Whether it's engaging in playtime, providing cuddles, or simply being a quiet companion, I ensure every cat feels safe and comfortable in my care. I have a pretty flexible schedule so I'm able to come by in the morning or evenings since I also work from home a few days a week. I will respect your home and space and follow directions when caring for your cat. I let your cat take the lead on how they would like to be treated.

“Aly is a wonderful sitter, and our four cats were happy and healthy when we got home. Our home was also well cared for, and she sent us a ton of kitty photos. She is highly communicative, and she also managed to fit in a meet and greet prior to a short notice booking which was super helpful in ensuring we were comfortable. We will absolutely book Aly again for our future needs.”

“Katelyn was communicative, timely, and so sweet to our kitty! This was the first time we left our cat alone after adopting her two months ago and Katelyn made us feel completely at ease. She sends lots of pictures and communicates any changes to her schedule. Would recommend her to anybody!”

“If our three thumbed (polydactyl) cats had access to our smart devices, they’d have already left this review themselves—and probably tipped him extra. We’ve trusted Kevin with our trio of “tigerz” more than once now, and there’s a reason we keep coming back. Each of our cats has their own unique demands (I mean, personality), and somehow Kevin manages to keep all three happy, fed, entertained, and—most impressively—on their absolute best behavior. We’re still trying to figure out his secret. It’s incredibly reassuring knowing they’re in such attentive and capable hands when we have to be away. Kevin takes the time to understand each cat’s quirks and needs, and it shows. We come home to relaxed, happy, and well-cared-for cats! 🌟 Kevin is our go-to sitter without hesitation, and we can’t recommend him highly enough!”

“Olivia is attentive, professional, punctual, and most importantly, super sweet to my cats! She had no problem giving seizure meds to my epileptic cat and understood the importance of the precise medication schedule we keep for her. I look forward to booking pet care services with Olivia in the future.”

“Kate was amazing at looking after our shy (and aloof) cat. She was incredibly communicative and spent time everyday playing with Midge — building trust and ensuring she had some social time. We would trust Kate with our pet again in a heartbeat.”

“Ponyo is amazing! We love having a sitter for Winston that we can trust. She gives detailed updates and sends pictures at every check-in. Highly recommend!”

“Devan was awesome! Great communication and a natural at connecting with dogs and keeping them engaged. Benji did not want to leave! We hope to see Devan again!”

About: I grew up with pets, from large to small. My sibling and friends always rely on me fostering their dogs and cats. I work from home and won’t leave your pets alone. My husband and I work full time from home, so your pets will always be attended to. They will pretty much hang out with us while we go about our day. My husband starts walking all of the dogs at around 8am. I will open my fenced yard at midday for a midday pee break. My husband will come back at around 6:30pm to give all of the dogs another walk. We usually feed the dogs their morning and evening meals after they come back from their walks. We will open the yard again before bed for a late night pee break.

“Ponyo is a phenomenal person, has a great place/home for your dog. We’re came from California for our son’s wedding, and she accommodated our golden retriever like he was a family member. A+. Would recommend her in a moment. 10/10”

“Pablo and Patricia were amazing! They were able to watch Bear on very short notice, were super kind and communicative, and took great care of him. I really appreciate them helping out last minute. Thank you both!”

About: I may be new to Rover, but I’m far from new to caring for dogs. I’ve spent years looking after my own pup and pet sitting for friends and family, all out of a genuine love for animals. For me, this isn’t a side hustle; it’s something I truly enjoy. I have a Shih Tzu of my own named Cooper, who is my whole world. When it comes to walks, I’m a firm believer in dog-centered outings. Want to sprint? Let’s go. Need five minutes to thoroughly investigate that one bush? Take your time. We move at your dog’s pace, in your dog’s direction, because that’s what makes a walk genuinely enriching, not just exercise. Your pet will get plenty of love, attention, and cuddles. I’ll treat them exactly like I treat Cooper, like family. You can expect regular photo updates if I’m watching your pup, I know firsthand how hard it is to be away from your baby and how it can put a damper on your trip thinking about them missing you. I work from home full-time, which means your pet gets attention throughout the entire day, not just before and after a 9-to-5. No long stretches alone, no waiting until evening for a walk. I’m based in Lower Queen Anne and live in a cozy apartment with my boyfriend and our Shih Tzu Cooper. No children, no yard, but don’t let that last part worry you. Cooper and I do at least one 2.5-mile walk every day, and if I’m watching your dog, they can expect the same. Queen Anne has wonderful walkable streets and green spaces, so there’s plenty to explore.
“Nuria and her partner was amazing with my dog. They sent me pictures throughout the day to keep me updated. They even brought him to the park for an afternoon stroll. Overall, I am beyond satisfied and would recommend!”

“Luci is such a dog lover! She attuned to our 9 month Havanese right away and was knowledgeable about dog behavior and safety, having been a dog parent herself for many years. We are so grateful to have found her when we needed care in a pinch and look forward to using her again.”

“Ozzy and I really like Zhongni! She is very thoughtful, caring and really paid a lot of attention to his needs. I know she took excellent care of Ozzy while I was at work and felt very comfortable dropping him off with her. She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day. I highly recommend her as a sitter and will use her again for boarding!”

“Jade was amazing! We got lots of pics throughout the day and she went above and beyond to try and get our picky puppy to eat! We would love to have Bodie stay with her again!”

About: I got my first pup when I turned 11 and have cared for them ever since, going on 14 years of owning a pet. Both dogs and cats! I enjoy interacting with pets and making them feel special on walkies or just hanging out with them. I currently run a small business so I am able to set my own hours and attend to other things such as walking or caring for your pet. I have a fenced in yard and three fur children in my household. Two dogs and a cat. I can also crate if needed for your pet.
“Ana was very understanding and flexible with my schedule, sent lots of happy updates and fun pictures of my very shy guy, Xavi, looking happy and comfortable. Ana and her family did a wonderful job with my dog who is very nervous with new people. It was a huge relief to see him doing so well. I definitely plan to have her watch Xavi again!”

“Mariia took amazing care of Frankie, and on short notice too! She took Frankie on a long walk in the afternoon and showed me lots of cute pictures where Frankie looks very happy. She left very detailed notes on Frankie’s stay, which I enjoyed reading. I wouldn’t hesitate to book care with Mariia again!”

“My dog developed separation anxiety after our recent move, and he’s not always comfortable being watched by people, but he is so comfortable with Jill and Jacob! He is well cared for and gets really excited to see them when I drop him off now.”

“Wonderful! Took great care of my dog and gave updates according to my requested schedule. Was also very understanding of some last minute scheduling changes that came up. Would absolutely book again!”

“Mandy did a wonderful job taking care of my dog, Arlo. She was communicative and kind, and it was clear that he was very comfortable with her. She gave him ample exercise and was attentive to his dietary and behavior quirks. Highly recommend!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for more than 16 years. I am reliable, empathetic, and I love spending time with animals! I promise to take care of your animal with love and care 💗 I am a Preschool Educator during the school year, so during the summer I am very flexible! During the school year, I am available mostly on the weekends. I live in an apartment in Queen Anne. My neighborhood is safe, filled with trees and parks—perfect for walking pets! I don’t take care of pets in my house because my cat is an only child 😅

About: I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. I grew up on a farm and we had all different types, including cats, dogs, and many others. I’ve worked professionally as a dog and cat sitter for the last 17 years, and actually adopted one of the dogs that I used to pet sit for 🩵 He is my sweet old man (he’s almost 15!). I will care for your pet like they are my own. I work remotely so have lots of availability. Happy to do overnights, walks, check-ins, play sessions, etc. Please let me know if you’d like to have a FaceTime. I can’t wait to meet your fur babies! 🫶🏼🐾 I am a remote worker so I am available at most times! I love meeting new animals of all shapes and sizes and giving them love and care. Yes! I can care for pets in my own home and can also travel to another’s home in some cases. Depends on whether my dog would be invited to come and how the other pet reacts to dogs!
About: My husband and I live in North Capitol Hill with our Malinois and German Shepherd. As the owner of a dog I trust with very few people, I understand how stressful it can be to hand someone else the leash or access to your home. My goal is to work closely with you, follow your instructions carefully, and make sure your pet is treated with patience, attention, respect, and genuine affection. My strongest experience is with large, intelligent, high-energy dogs. I have raised both of my dogs from puppyhood: a German Shepherd and an 85-pound rescue Belgian Malinois with anxiety and reactivity. Caring for dogs who are strong, athletic, sensitive, and constantly thinking has taught me patience, consistency, calm handling, and how to anticipate problems before they happen. I regularly walk both dogs together, managing nearly 200 pounds of energy, strength, and occasional squirrel chasing. On walks, I am fully present and not distracted by my phone. I continually monitor for approaching dogs, traffic, cyclists, tight spaces, environmental triggers, and safe alternate routes. I understand that responsible handling often means preventing a difficult situation instead of waiting until one has already developed. That same awareness carries into the home. I am used to dogs who can open doors, get past barriers, jump onto counters, move large objects such as trash cans, and reach hazards that many people would never anticipate. I carefully check for medications, food, trash, unsecured doors, and anything else a curious or determined pet might access. With smart dogs, the smallest overlooked detail can quickly become a much larger problem. My experience also includes: • Puppies, including house-training routines, frequent potty breaks, consistency, and managing chewing or mischievous behavior • Senior dogs who may require a slower pace, extra patience, mobility accommodations, or closer observation • Anxious and reactive dogs who benefit from structure, space, calm communication, and predictable routines • Cats, including feeding, litter-box care, play, companionship, and following each cat’s preferred level of interaction I do not assume that experience with my own pets means I automatically understand yours. Every animal has different routines, triggers, boundaries, medical needs, and quirks. I welcome detailed instructions and honest information about behavior, anxiety, reactivity, past incidents, or anything I should avoid. That information does not intimidate me. It allows me to provide safer and more confident care. My schedule is flexible because I do not work a traditional nine-to-five job. I am currently on summer break while finishing my degree in interior design, and I can accommodate weekday and weekend walks, drop-in visits, house sitting, and recurring care depending on location and timing. When school resumes, most of my time will be spent working independently on my capstone project, with only a few scheduled classes each week. I expect to maintain substantial flexibility throughout the academic year and am interested in building long-term relationships with recurring clients. I keep my Rover calendar current and only accept bookings I know I can reliably fulfill. I follow each owner’s instructions carefully and take time to understand their pet’s routine, boundaries, health needs, and home setup. In a client’s home, I pay close attention to doors, gates, food, medications, trash, cleaning products, and anything a curious or determined pet could reach. Before leaving, I confirm that the home is secure and that each pet has fresh water, access to the correct areas, and a comfortable environment. During walks, I stay off my phone and remain aware of approaching dogs, traffic, cyclists, narrow sidewalks, and possible triggers. I avoid unnecessary interactions with unfamiliar dogs, adjust the route when needed, and use the equipment and handling methods provided by the owner. I do not take dogs off leash unless we are in a fully enclosed area and the owner has specifically approved it. Trust also means communication. I provide clear updates and will contact you if I notice anything unusual, including changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or bathroom habits. I would rather ask a question than make an assumption. I also have a large SUV and reliable transportation. If urgent veterinary care is ever necessary, I can safely transport dogs of various sizes, follow the owner’s emergency instructions, and keep them informed throughout.
About: I’ve always been an animal lover and grew up around dogs of all sizes. I helped care for and train my parents 2 dogs and I have experience assisting with taking care of previous roommates dogs. I currently pet sit for friends and family when they are out of town. I’m free mornings and afternoons on weekdays (can be available in the evenings if needed) and have flexible availability on weekends for pet care. I can care for your pet in your home by taking them out for bathroom breaks, taking them out of walks, playing with toys, feeding them on schedule, administering any medications, and offering lots of pets!

“Aly had good communication with timing changes, and sent nice pictures of their walk, plus pics of our cat who decided to come out and say hi when she came to get the dog.”

“I highly recommend Emily for anyone who needs a dog walker! My dog warmed up to her so quickly, and Emily was great at communicating and giving my dog lots of attention!”

“Anessa is so friendly and easy to work with! Our dog Audrey adored her evening walks with her. Will definitely rebook the next time I have a business trip and need help with evening walks.”

About: Most sitters are dog people who also take cats. I'm the other way around. My first cat was Peelu, named for the yellow spots he had, and I've been around cats ever since. Four years of sitting has taught me that every cat runs on its own system, and my job is to figure out yours quickly and then stay out of its way. Some cats want you to leave the room before they'll touch their food. Some need about ten minutes of being politely ignored before they'll come out from under the bed. Some will tell you very clearly that the water bowl is six inches from where it should be. I pay attention to that stuff. I'm comfortable with medication schedules, litter boxes, and shy cats who hide for the entire first visit. You'll get photo updates every time, including the ones where your cat looks deeply unimpressed with me. I do drop-ins and house-sitting around North Capitol Hill, so I'm usually a short walk away. I work from home with a flexible schedule, so I can do drop-ins in the morning, midday, and evening without rushing. Weekday middays are wide open, which is usually the hardest slot for owners to fill. I'm also around most weekends. For housesitting, I'm out of the apartment part of the day but home most evenings and overnight, so your cat gets company at the hours that matter most to them. I keep my Rover calendar current and I'll tell you upfront if I can't make a schedule work, rather than saying yes and figuring it out later. I only care for cats in their own home, which is where cats do best. A new environment stresses most of them out more than a few hours alone does, so I come to them. Drop-ins: I follow whatever routine you already have rather than inventing my own. Fresh food and water, litter scooped every visit, medications on schedule, and play or lap time depending on what your cat is actually in the mood for. I check doors and windows before I leave every single time, and I keep an eye on the things that tell you a cat is off: appetite, litter box output, hiding more than usual, any limping or discharge. If something seems wrong, you hear from me right away rather than at the end of the week. Housesitting: Same routine, plus I'm there overnight. I'll bring in mail and packages, alternate a few lights, and generally keep the place looking lived in. I treat your home like a place I'm a guest in, not a place I'm staying at. No guests, and I leave it the way I found it. Before the first booking I'll ask for your vet's info, an emergency contact, where the carrier is, and anything specific I should know: escape artists, cats who bolt for the door, food aggression between housemates, or a cat who needs to be left alone more than most.
“Brandi is so kind and pleasant to work with!! My dog is 100% blind, so he afraid of the outside world. He’s is a sweet boy, and Brandi takes her time with him. The fact he is willing to cuddle with her and allow her to help guide him is amazing. I have used Brandi twice now, and will for sure be booking her again!! Thank you Brandi!”

“Jake had his first walk with Bryant today. He is great! He arrived right on time and Jake went right up to him, all ready to go! They had a long walk and I especially appreciate that it rained a lot while they were out. Looking forward to the next time.”

“Akiko helped us out for a week with doggy daycare for our puppy Zoe. She was super communicative, sent lots of great photo and video updates, and did a great job making sure Zoe had an adventure-filled day around the neighborhood! We would highly recommend her to anyone.”
About: Hello! As a volunteer with a local animal shelter and wildlife rehabilitation center I have had experience providing complex care for animals with all sorts of differing needs. Growing up with, and continuing to care for, animals of my own has taught me so much about providing care at every stage of life. I have helped raise puppies, kittens, small chicks, and bottle fed orphaned wildlife. I am very comfortable understanding and respecting the boundaries of more reactive animals and will tailor my care to your pets individual needs and personality. I would be honored to be entrusted with your pets care and prioritize safety and communication above all else! I have a flexible schedule and will work with you in order to provide the best care for your pet/s where and when you need it. Safety is my number one priority, and I believe wholeheartedly in always acting with care and honesty. The care I provide is informed by your advice and individual needs, and the most important thing to me is providing a safe and comfortable environment for your pet.
“I booked Elizabeth to walk my dog while I was away on a work trip, and she was fantastic! She suggested a meet-and-greet beforehand, which I really appreciated. Throughout the process, she was attentive, communicative, and very friendly. I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in her care. I’d definitely book her again and recommend her!”
“Heather is amazing, she has taken care of Figaro as if he was her own. She has helped with training and provided us tips to reinforce at home. Our little one waits for her by the door to go on walks with her. Could not recommend enough!”

About: I have been around animals since I was in diapers, and pet sitting since I can remember. First for family, then for friends. I have experiences with large dogs (my aunt has two mastiffs), smaller dogs, cats of all shapes and sizes, and even the occasional reptile. I enjoy the playtime and companionship just as much as my furry friends. I am working full-time, transitioning to a lighter work load in the next few months. That being said, I usually have flexibility during the day for a mid-day walk and I always have time in the early morning and early evening. I also spend a lot of time in the city so I can usually be booked during weekends as well. I do not have any pets so I have a perfect home to give your pet undivided attention. No yard but I live a block from Central Park so lots of fun awaits us just around the corner.

“Excellent service - provided frequent updates, knowledgeable handling of dogs, handled a tummy issue, and took good care of our pup. No hesitation to go back again in the future”

“Carl is an amazing sitter! Very communicative, sent lots of pictures, and I could tell our boy was very comfortable and having a great time while we were gone. Carl’s space is fantastic for any pets, our dog loved being there. I will absolutely reach out to Carl first in the future for any sitting needs.”

“Our miniature Australian Shepherd pixel always has a wonderful time when he stays with Catherine. She is a great communicator and does a fantastic job ensuring that he gets plenty of activity and interaction. Thank you!!”

“They were very excited to watch Pepper. These are Dog People who stopped at nothing to make sure Pepper was well exercised and well taken care of. Will be booking with them again”

“Jennifer and Ken were so great with my timid rescue dog! They were extremely communicative and sent me an update with pictures every day and even took her on a hike for some extra exercise. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be rebooking in the future if needed!”

“Erica is rad! She was willing to meet up prior to our scheduled time to see how our dogs got along. She’s very chill, responsive, and has so much experience with all types of doggos. Really appreciate her flexibility and sending me cute photos and vids while my lil guy was at her place. Would highly recommend and would rebook again.”

“Regina went above and beyond to ensure my elderly dachshund received the best care and attention. Her regular photo updates allowed our family to relax while away, knowing our pet was in good hands. Regina was also easy to work with, flexible, and we look forward to having our dog stay with Regina again!”

“Adam was great with Pearl, and its always nice knowing a sitter is comfortable with large (stubborn) dogs. Adam communicated well and picked up and dropped of Pearly right on time with no issues.”

“Wow Alexa and her family go above and beyond in making sure your fur baby is well taken care of, and that you are thoroughly communicated with every step of the way. Truly, she is an exceptional sitter, and Stella came home well-rested, comfortable, and anxiety free (rare for her!!!). Expectations entirely exceeded!!

“Isabella was so so great with our dog, Benji! She kept us updated on how he was each day and really went the extra mile with making sure Benji was comfortable. Really appreciate the great care and I wouldn’t think twice about leaving my dog with her again ! ❤️”

“Thu was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly responsive and kept us updated with plenty of pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. We had a last-minute emergency and needed to extend our pup’s stay by an extra night, and she was so understanding and accommodating. We would happily book with her again, and I know our pup would be thrilled!”

“Rand took incredible care of our dog! He’s a big, energetic chocolate lab and Rand kept him safe, fed, and so happy! We will absolutely be coming back to her as long as she’s available!”

“Very successful weekend stay with Jeffrey. Jeffrey was easy to communicate with and he consistently sent me updates of my dog. Yoshi was happy and tired when she got home. He took her on so many walks and even a trip to the dog park where Yoshi made a friend. It felt like Yoshi was on a little vacation while I was on mine. Thanks again Jeffrey, looking forward to another stay.”

“Yoshimi had a great time with Cheryl. She was very nice, sent pictures, was very knowledgeable about animals. I would definitely ask her to board him again.”

“Sufi loves staying at Ramon. I appreciate his transparency and he loves having Sufi over. He is regular at updates, something which calms our anxiety leaving our kiddo.”

“He was so kind and took wonderful care of my dog! Made sure everything was talked through before I left him overnight, I had no doubt my dog was going to be taken good care of.”

“Jana and her family have been an absolute gift. Summer is a very reserved, apprehensive little dog who has never stayed in someone else's home before, so I was understandably nervous. From the moment we met, Jana and her family were patient, gentle, and took the time to earn Summer's trust rather than expecting it. They cared for her as if she were their own, and I had complete peace of mind knowing she was safe, comfortable, and in such a calm, loving home while our house was filled with the chaos of repairs, packing, and moving. Summer came home happy and relaxed, and I've already booked Jana again for several more stays. I couldn't recommend her more highly.”
