“We arranged Susan H. to look after our 7-year old Havanese Roxy for 5 weeks while we had to make an international trip to Nepal. Roxy had never been without one of us (either myself or my wife Sharon) with her ever, during her entire life. At home, Roxy is very communicative, and well-trained to pee and poop outside, and rarely had accidents inside the house. Apparently, Roxy had a difficult time adjusting at Susan's house. It could have been the new environment and/or smells of other dogs that had been there previously. I think Roxy was also very distressed at not being at home and also that both of us had left her (or not knowing that we were ever coming back). Susan was very patient with Roxy, showed her a lot of love, and communicated regularly with us via messaging about Roxy's adjustment, issues, and progress. We were most appreciative. In the end, after 5 weeks when we picked up Roxy, Susan told us that Roxy had become like a family member in her household. When asked if she would again care for Roxy in the future (if/when we needed), Susan's answer was, "yes, indeed". I cannot recommend Susan more highly. She did a 5-star job looking after our little girl.”

About: My pet care experience began when I joined a humane society volunteer program where I worked for 6 years and became a shift lead. Later, I worked at a doggy daycare and overnight pet hotel. There I worked with specific dog’s needs and care as well as managed a group of up to 60 free-roaming dogs (yes, it was as amazing as it sounds) I have worked as a pet sitter and dog walker for most of my life, and I have experience with a variety of breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I have also worked with horses for most of my life and in the summers I care for horses on a large farm. They are pretty much a bunch of big, funny, puppies. Before i got my current dog i always wanted to watch my friends and families dogs. i have been officially watching dogs and cats for two years now and have met so many amazing cuties! i love the dog park and will take your pups without a doubt! i’m currently a freshman and western washington university with only 2 classes a day so every weekday (especially my evenings) should be open for walks and stop bye. if more is needed i can make room in my schedule! if you have a yard i will always keep watch if i am letting the dog out and keep a good eye on walks as well. i care for these pets as much as myself and want them to feel comfortable in my presence.

About: I grew up with dogs and have had at least one of my own for the last 20 years. They truly are the best friends! We have a sweet 3-year old rescue poodle mix, Mimi, who does really well with other dogs. We'd love to have your dog or cat stay with us and join in our walks and hikes and cuddles! I have had a reactive/leash reactive dog and as much as I know they can be the sweetest pups when on their own, I can't take on these dogs anymore. It creates too much anxiety for me. I live on a street where there is a constant flow of neighbor dogs both on and off leash and the trails are packed with dogs these days so it's a guarantee we will meet other dogs while we are out and about. I work from home and love to get outside and explore the beautiful trails around Bellingham. When not out sniffing the trails me and your pet will be snuggled up relaxing together. There is a fence area for visiting pets to relieve themselves (it includes about 10 stairs). I love to hike and walk and will make sure your pet gets all the movement they need. I love to snuggle too so when not out and about you can rest assured that your pet is getting lots of love and cuddles.

About: I have recently moved from Nashville to Bellingham area. I have fostered over 60 dogs with Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue. I have dealt with multiple breeds as well as puppies and especially seniors with medical issues. I currently have a foster pug so I can house sit if I can bring her along or drop in. Your pups can also stay at my house. I work remotely so I can house sit, pet sit at anytime as long as I'm not going to be out of town or already booked. My husband and I are always nervous to leave Kahi, but this time we felt more at ease knowing she was in great hands with Leslie. Leslie welcomed Kahi into her home and was knowledgable of what Kahi needed to feel safe and comfortable. She was diligent to provide daily updates and pictures. The pictures showed that Kahi was well-adjusted to Leslie’s home and having a great time playing and bonding with Leslie’s pups. “Puppies spent a relaxing evening with Karrin and her pups after taking their walks around the grounds and getting their energy out. Alice and her aging Lola poodle snuggled together on the couch like 2 little old ladies watching the young pups figure life out. She sent me pictures again like she did the day before and was very conscientious about everything concerning the dogs. I highly recommend her. She communicates quickly on the app and is on time and the only time she was late is because my dogs were finally ready to eat their usual amount of food and ate their full breakfast in the morning and made her late, she wasn’t going to stop them from eating after they had hardly eaten anything for 3 days. We had talked about how much food that they had consumed, or lack there of, between us during our conversations. So she knew when they finally began to chow down like she saw she wasn’t going to stop them, that’s a great sitter to me, I wouldn’t make my dog drop off time that close to a flight time etc.., if you did, that’s on you not her, I digress, she’s awesome, like she said, this is a sign that the dogs feel comfortable. When they eat. I will definitely use her again. I hope you do too!”
