“Liz was amazing with our pups - her property is perfect for them to roam and explore. Her experience with reactive dogs was super helpful as our younger pup is still working through some trauma from experiences pre-adoption, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands.”

“Courtney & Kam were amazing! We had a super informative meet and greet in the beginning. They had my boy over Christmas and I got pictures every day. I could tell how happy he was there. When I picked him up, he was super happy to see me, but I could also tell he was kind of sad to leave them. They went on many hiking adventures and he came back just as clean. Courtney & Kam were super flexible with the time, especially when I had to extend my trip a couple days early. Overall, I would recommend them. I could tell they loved my pup with all their heart!! They were super professional and very kind. I also saw how well kept and nice their home was.”

“Sydney was wonderful with both my mini schnauzers. She took care of their every need and gave them lots of love. We have rebooked with her for several more dates and will continue to book with her for boarding in her home.”

“Linda and David were absolutely wonderful to my Loki. Between the thorough updates and the welcoming environment they provide for their clients, I wasn’t worried at all while we were away.”

“Nancye is absolutely amazing! She loved and spoiled our Josey as if he was her own. I loved that we had the opportunity to have a meet and greet before we took our trip. She took him on walks. He loves car rides and she took him to get ice cream with her getting him a pup cup. It was our 1st time leaving him with someone new and she sent us pictures and updated all along the way. Nancye has such a love for fur babies and it shows. Would definitely recommend her.”

“This is our second time and always the best place for our dogs,,, she is such a sweet heart for our dogs and always get update everytime so we love that.. We will always happy to let her baby sit our dogs”

“Amari was very accommodating for a last minute booking, kept me updated with lots of pictures and reassured me that my dog was doing great! Would definitely book with her again in the future.”

“Maverick loves when we pull up to Nancy’s house. It’s his home away from home! He has an instant dog friend and a warm & cozy house to play and relax in. I love getting pictures of him playing with DeDe and other dog friends. I’m so thankful Nancy is very accommodating with our crazy drop off and pick up times!”

“Been our second time using Carmen. Our dogs always had a great time and really nice that she has a fenced in back yard. Carmen also provided crates so we didn’t have to bring ours. Quick to responses and well priced. Would use again and do recommend!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of Maks! It’s clear you truly love animals, and I appreciate your reliability, kindness, and attention to detail. I came home to a happy, relaxed pup—couldn’t ask for better!”

“Holly was super flexible with a super short notice to take care of our 9lb-13mo old-cute-spoiled-baby girl-wiener Pitanga. It was the very first time Pitanga spent the night away from mom and dad and Holly sent lots of pictures of our puppy along the day. I’ll definitely ask Holly to take care of her again in the future. Super recommend!”

“I wanted to take my dogs to Shannon last year, based on her profile alone. She has experience with senior dogs and dogs with disabilities. I can't remember if I didn't take the vacation or she just wasn't available for the dates I needed but, I didn't use her last year. This year, I needed a sitter for 3 nights as I was going out of town. She took care of my little beagle, Buddy and my golden doodle, Toby. I've had both of these dogs for less than 3 months. When I took them to visit her before the vacation, they took to her and her household immediately so I felt very secure leaving them 2 days later when I went on vacation. My niece also left her little Aussie dog with her as well. Shannon sent lots of pictures of the dogs and descriptions of their activities each day! She let us know if they weren't eating and she gave her input and thoughts as to why they were doing or not doing something unusual. She gave me and my niece both peace of mind and that's the number one thing we needed from a dog sitter. We could tell that she loved on our dogs just as if they were her children and we loved it. I'll always be reaching out to her when I'm in need of a sitter for sure!”

“Walt kept our boy, Teddi, for four days. Teddi is a 3 yo intact English Shepherd who has never spent a night away from us. Teddi is a very well behaved and friendly boy but we were a bit anxious how this would go. Walt kept us well informed on how Teddi was doing. Walt gave Teddi great care and a lot of attention. When we returned to pick up Teddi, it was obvious that he and Teddy had bonded very well. We are very pleased with the care that Walt provided and will certainly use him again.”

Working with animals brings me joy and peace, and making sure they are happy and well cared for is my life mission. I have the ability to keep my dog separate if needed but she loves playing with other dogs! I have a full sized truck and the ability to transport animals with me safely. I have 2.5 acres of fenced land for dogs to run and play as well as a small fenced in section adjacent to the house. A pet door offers come and go access to the house. I am comfortable handling large dogs (I have a lot of practice in my line of work as a veterinarian). I am also comfortable with young animals, cats, older animals, and any animal requiring high levels of care.
“Emily was wonderful and so easy to work with! Our pups seemed to have a great time and loved her fenced in backyard. Very much appreciated Emily’s daily messages and pics. Will definitely use again!”

“Samantha is great! It was the first time our Beau stayed with her. She sent photos and updates on how Beau was doing during his stay. He had other dogs he could play with and he loved that. He was happy and worn out when he came home. I will be using her again and would highly recommend her.”

“Heather was an amazing pet sitter, and we are grateful to have had her help us over the holidays. She was easy to coordinate with, and very flexible. One of my cats ended up needing some last minute antibiotics and Heather was happy to help. My cat trusted her and seemingly was very good at taking his medicine, even more than expected. I have never felt so at ease knowing someone so capable and caring was looking after my pets while I was away. She was incredibly helpful and wonderful, and I can’t recommend her enough! 10/10, thank you so much, Heather!”
About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). I am on the Virginia Tech polo team, and we are in charge of all aspects of care for our 13 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am on break from school right now, and hybrid interning part time here in Blacksburg. I am very available and excited to spend time with your pets! Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.
“Rachel was great with my kitties. My kitties were still a bit new to each other but Rachel made me feel at ease that they’d be safe! She sent lots of pictures and gave me updates on meals.”

“Sam took such wonderful care of our dear little cat, Alaska. Alaska got lots of cuddles and attention while we were away and really took a liking to Sam. We will absolutely work with Sam in the future, and we recommend Sam to anyone looking for a responsible, caring, communicative, and attentive pet sitter! Thank you so much, Sam!!”

About: I have been taking care of cats for family friends since I was around 11. I got my own cat when I was 14 and have been absolutely obsessed since. Happy to take care of anything your cat needs including medication and litter box cleaning!
“One of my cats got injured right before a trip out of town, and Emma boarded him at her house while we were away. She gave him his medicine twice a day and sent pictures and information every day. She spent time cuddling him and he even got to make a little doggy friend. I wasn't sure how my cat would do around the other animals, so Emma was very thoughtful about how and who she introduced him to, and made sure he had his own private space so he could feel comfortable. She even got him some treats :)”
About: I am a graduate student located in Blacksburg studying Counselor Education. This past summer I even got to take the Animal Assisted Counseling course and learn all about animal wellbeing in my profession! I have always had dogs and cat in my house growing up, and I have years of informal experience walking, feeding, and taking care of pets overnight. I am always a go to pet sitter for family and friends that are out of town because I always follow their directions as well as treat their home and pet with respect. I also have over a year of hands on volunteer experience at the People For Pets Foundation no kill cat cat shelter in Jeffersonton, VA. I am super flexible all summer! I am a server and work six hours shifts at the maximum. I am happy to serve you and your pets with temporary support or long-term weekly services! I can provide overnight support as well. A pet is like another member of the family, and I have always been taught to treat your family with respect and love them unconditionally. Being with animals is my absolute favorite thing in the world, and you can trust that your pet’s well being will always be my number one priority.
About: I'm that person where if you mention you have a dog, I want to meet them! I've been dogsitting since I can remember. With my current job, if my coworkers need a dogsitter, I'm there. They rely on me to walk, feed, and care for their pups as if it was my own. I currently work a job where I only work 3-4 days a week and have every weekend off. I'm unavailable on the days I work due to 12 hour shifts, but on my off days I'm available whenever! :) I have a friendly golden retriever pup who can give your furry friend company. I also have a crate upon your request and lots of toys!!

About: My family has owned a cat for about two years now and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. I was also in charge of taking care of my neighbors cat when little, and will not shy away from anything. I will absolutely deep-clean a litter box if needed, and if your cat is a little feisty I don’t mind getting a few scratches. Each cat has a mind of their own, which is why I love them so much!

“We are so amazed by the care that Rita provided our boys when we were away. We knew from our initial meeting that she offers her services because she loves pets so much. We will definitely only hire her for our future needs and we recommend her without reservation!”

“Katie was great! She seems very conscientious and responsible. She grasped very quickly all of our instructions around feeding and meds. She braved the snow to make sure our cat was taken care of. Cannot say enough good things about her.”

“James connected with my dog almost instantly and went above and beyond with her care. James helped us out when someone came to clean our apartment and Misha needed to be protected.”

About: I have three cats of my own, so I’m used to all kinds of personalities! I know how important it is for cats to feel safe, comfortable, and on their own terms. I’ve also cared for cats while pet sitting for neighbors, helping with feeding, litter boxes, playtime, and giving them attention when they want it (and space when they don’t!). I’m patient, gentle, and always focused on making sure your cat feels happy and relaxed while you’re away!

About: I’ve been taking care of my neighborhood cats since I was 13. I’ve taken care for kittens and older kitties dozens of times. Their owners trust me with making sure water bowls are always full, feeding their kitties based on their usual eating habits, cleaning up their litter boxes, as well as having some play time or couch cuddles. I have also volunteered at the Humane Society of Montgomery County, helping them socialize their cats and clean up their spaces.

“It was a pleasure meeting Madison and her great family. She was a lifesaver taking care of our dog. Our dog was spoiled. I would highly recommend Madison for any pet sitting needs.”

“Emily and Ryan were very responsive, and provided kind and appropriate care to our 14 mo mini Poodle. Emily was very helpful in learning to use Rover (this was our first time). She was also very helpful in making sure we were able to meet some last minute needs. We greatly appreciate the pictures and updates during the day! We would definitely recommend Emily, and hope to use her services again soon!”

“Overall, they are AMAZING dog sitters and do a great job! I was given tons of pictures of my Auggie having a great weekend and I was very nervous to leave him for the first time. They did a great job instilling good habits in my puppy while having him enjoy his weekend with completely new people. I’m extremely satisfied and will be using them again!!”

“This was our second time using Greg and Corrie and my boy had a great time! They took so many photos, gave him snacks, and took great care of him! Mops loves going to stay with them and is has been so happy both times!”

“Nancy’s was great! We were in town for graduation and needed a pet sitter for a few hours to attend the ceremony. Nancy’s was very attentive and excited to take care of Chai. She was in great hands and I highly recommend her to anybody who wants extra special treatment for their pup.”

“David and Linda are great. They took great care of our elderly dog and our puppy. We trust them with our animals and will use their service again. Thank you.”

About: I have always been an animal lover! I always have to stop and pet when I see them. I have often pet sat/boarded our neighbors animals for weeks even. I love all animals! I am currently a stay at home mom so I have extra time to come walk your pets, sit with them, or even for them to come stay with me I am home all day. At my home pets are always on leash and walked on grass/sidewalk. Can be kept in a separate area if requested! Clients home is based on clients wishes (backyard/dog park/sidewalk). I also have 3 loving dogs and 2 cats that stay with me currently!

About: I am a new sitter on Rover, but don’t let that put you off. :) My family has never known a time where we didn’t have pets! When I was five years old, my parents entrusted to me a sweet black kitty for whom I was solely responsible for. Not only did this experience affirm my love for animals, but it also jumpstarted me into a world of responsibility! Since then, we have rescued dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, happily welcoming “bully” breeds and giving them all the love and care they deserve! I’ve cared for elderly dogs and cats with and without disabilities, as well as those who need certain medications or injections. Further, big breeds do not intimidate me- I love them! Perhaps most importantly, I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! ❤️ I am currently a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and as such, my weekdays are fairly busy until the evenings. If you need overnight care on the weekdays, let me know and we can work something out! I typically have a couple meetings in the mornings that I can conduct on zoom, but I do have in person class from 2-5 that I will need to leave your home for. Fridays and weekends, however, are wide open! I have two sweet, playful cats currently and live in an apartment, so it is likely that care will be provided in your house! I often find this is better anyway, as your pet is already comfortable in their home and less likely to feel stress with change.

About: I am a recent animal science grad from Virginia Tech, pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. My journey in this field began at a young age when I commenced volunteering at an animal shelter, an endeavor that has remained a cherished source of solace and fulfillment. Over the years, I have garnered hands-on experience through roles as a kennel attendant and doggy daycare handler at a veterinary clinic and grooming center. Presently, I am engaged in an internship under the guidance of a seasoned veterinarian. Additionally, I have accumulated four years of experience in house and pet sitting, catering to animals of varying sizes, ranging from 150-pound Cane Corsos to 10-pound Yorkies, and have cared for both arthritic and diabetic seniors in the past. Complementing this professional background, I am also a devoted owner of three dogs. Taking time off before moving and starting a new job. I’m currently free all day to hangout with your fur babies, happy to help make your schedule easier! Whether you have a couch potato or a runner, I’m happy to do it all! I love hanging out with a furry friends and do whatever they like!
About: I have been pet sitting as a side job for 4 years now, but my passion for animals has been a lifelong journey. From a young age, I’ve been surrounded by pets, and pet sitting has allowed me to further channel my love and care for animals. My experience spans a variety of pets, with a particular focus on caring for large breed dogs during my time in Australia. Whether tending to puppies or elderly pets, I approach each responsibility with the utmost dedication and a deep understanding of their unique needs. I have flexible availability as I focus only on my studies at the moment I don't have a side job, allowing me to offer reliable pet care. I treat each pet like they’re part of my family, whether they’re staying in my home or theirs. I make sure to stick to their usual routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. This includes playtime, walks, meals, and grooming as needed. I also keep in touch with the pet’s owner to provide regular updates and make sure everything is going smoothly. Above all, I strive to create a loving, safe environment where pets can feel at ease while their owners are away
“Deann was wonderful! We were a last minute booking and she could not have been more flexible or more gracious! Our puppy had a great afternoon. We will definitely be return customers!”

About: I like to take a supervised yet hands-off approach to watching over dogs. That is, letting dogs be their curious and playful selves while making sure they're safe and well taken care of. I've owned dogs my whole life (breeds including portuguese water dog, rottweilers, maltese/poodle mix, terrier mix, schnauzer/poodle mix, and a german shepherd currently) and find that they are happier and better behaved when given freedom to explore and lead rather than be expected to remain obedient and tame at all times. Some pups need more structure and thrive on a little more rigidity though, and I am very capable of meeting whatever their needs are and sticking to what you know is best for their personality. I am easily swooned by all kinds of dogs but am not one to let them use their good looks and charm to get the best of me. I am mostly just excited to hang out with as many of these guys as I can! I do want to be transparent that I work regular hours Mon - Fri, so I cannot stay with your pups 24/7 during the week. That being said, lunch time bathroom breaks are a guarantee! Walks in the morning and in the evening, and a quick potty break in the afternoon! I do have a day job, but your sweet pup will always be my first priority. I have a large backyard and live just a few short minutes from the Huckleberry Trail 🙂 I also have a spacious yard where your furry friend can roam free!
About: I’ve owned a black Labrador(Anna) for over 13 years, she has not once had any sort of health issue as I’ve feed her well, and kept her up to date on vet visits. I’m caring, compassionate, and smart and versatile enough to be calm in any situation that may arise. I assure you that I will treat your pet as if it were my own. This allows me the freedom to stay focused on your pet and be there when other folks have to leave. If a situation ever does arrive my strength are communication so you can rest assured I will be in constant contact, which as a pet owner for an older girl myself id expect from others if I left her in their care. If the pet requires adequate exercise I have no problem going on a long walk with them and the space is pet friendly as my dog (Anna) is there. In your home, I can assure you that my experience will allow me to provide the best care for your loved ones.
About: I’ve taken care of animals since I was around 4 years old, however when I turned 9 I started caring for horses as well. I’ve also been handling little animals like guinea pigs and hamsters since I was 12. I graduated high school in 2022, I’m at home quite frequently! I have more than enough time that I can spend with your adorable animal/s! I have two dogs in my home to keep your fur baby company! Rue is very playful and just loves the attention. She’d hang out with your dog all day! Bailee is an adorable love bug who just wants to cuddle all day.
“Jessie always does a great job taking care of our sweet, but shy fur baby! We appreciate the pictures and updates she regularly sends us. It makes our hearts happy knowing that our dog is getting wonderful care and lots of love when we’re away!”

About: I have taken care of animals most of my life, and have had anything from dogs and cats, to chickens and ducks, snakes, goats, llamas, etc. I have successfully trained dogs in basic behavioral skills and administered medication of various forms to all my animals. All walks are leashed, no exceptions unless you have a fully fenced and secure yard you prefer your pet to run around.

About: I lived around both dogs and cats my whole life, with both family and roommates, and I absolutely love it. While I'm not in the position to have my own furry friend at the moment, I love to care for animals. I spent about a year (2025) volunteering with the MCACAC shelter cats and dogs in Christiansburg, including participating in their training courses, and now feel confident bringing that experience to work with pets that already have found their families as well. I'm currently job hunting, so my schedule is extremely flexible and I am available throughout the day. I am occasionally out of town for travel or job-search related activities. My apartment is is pet-free, so I cannot host pets at this time. As far as working with pets in your home, please let me know your house rules. I generally use whatever items the pet uses at home (leash, treats, etc) for the sake of consistency for the pet and pet parent.

I’m comfortable with all types of animals with a variety of health problems and temperaments. I currently work night shift so I’m available most times during the day! I also am free all weekends so I have plenty of time to spend time with your pets! I currently live in a house with a fenced in yard. I care for my own dog and have him run around the yard for lots of exercise. Although I wouldn’t be using my house for stays, I am more than happy to spend the same amount of time caring for your pets!
About: I am a college student studying to be a small animal veterinarian who has grown up with dogs my whole life. I have trained dogs almost my whole life from search and rescue, dog sports, as well as service work. I have lots of experience with dog sitting and walking, as well as having 2 dogs of my own. I have been working at a vet clinic for about 2 years, furthering my experience with animals. I am currently a sophomore in college, but my class schedule is pretty flexible with long breaks in between classes to care for animals. Outside of classes, I have some hobbies, but nothing that is too time consuming to prevent me from walking/taking care of dogs and cats. In my townhome, we don't have a yard, but the dogs will get walked to go potty about every 2-4 hours and will get a long walk once or twice a day, depending on what they need. In the client's home, I will spend time playing with them or just giving them attention, as well as long walks to tire them out.
About: I’ve looked after my neighborhood pets since I was 13. I’ve primarily cared for dogs and cats, but I’ve also looked after hermit crabs, a bearded dragon, fish, and canaries. I’ve looked after all different kinds of dogs of all different ages. I have experience with both crate trained and free-roaming dogs as well. Owners trust me to make sure water bowls are always full, follow their usual feeding times as best as I can, have nice walks outside, as well as spend some time playing before I head out. I am back home from college for the summer looking for a part-time job, so my days are mostly free to look after your pets! When visiting your pet at your home, I’d give them time to get used to my scent. I’m comfortable with both crate trained pets and free roaming pets. I take this position very seriously and will take the best care of your pets while you’re away!

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and currently care for three cats and two dogs of my own, so I’m very comfortable handling different personalities and energy levels. I’ve also pet sat for neighbors, with experience in feeding routines, playtime, and keeping pets comfortable while their owners are away. I’m attentive, reliable, and always focused on making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. While I’m newer to professional dog walking, I’m confident handling dogs and happy to follow any specific instructions to match your pet’s routine! Pet care fits easily into my routine, and I make it a priority to give pets the time and attention they deserve. I’m fully available on Mondays and Tuesdays, with flexible availability throughout the rest of the week. I currently work part-time, but I have consistent availability for drop-ins, visits, and short-term care. I’m happy to be flexible and work with your schedule to make sure your pet is well cared for. I treat every pet like they’re my own. During drop-ins, I follow your routines, give plenty of attention and play, and keep your home safe and tidy. On walks, I stay close, keep dogs on leash, and watch out for anything that could be unsafe. My goal is always happy, comfortable pets, and peace of mind for you.

I have lifelong experience caring for animals - I grew up with five cats, two Guinea pigs, and four birds! Petsitting for my neighbor’s dogs was my very first job as a kid and I have been doing it for friends, family, and coworkers ever since. I have experience caring for elderly and disabled animals, those with particular feeding schedules or allergies, and am comfortable administering medications for your pets as needed. I have cared for everything from dogs and cats to ferrets, rabbits, and even chickens. I have an extremely flexible academic schedule and a flexible employment schedule which makes petsitting a breeze. Shoot me a message so I can get you on my calendar! My animals are fully vaccinated and on monthly preventatives for your pets’ wellness as much as mine. Don’t worry, I make sure to send lots of pictures and updates along the way! :)

About: I am a veterinarian who has dedicated her life to caring for animals. I have worked with animals from a young age, including many hours working in vet offices in high school leading up to college and vet school (became a licensed vet in 2020). I am quite comfortable with caring for animals who need medications administered, or more intense levels of care while their owners are away. Working with animals brings me joy and peace, and making sure they are happy and well cared for is my life mission. I believe in fear free handling, and I am happy to work with animals who do not trust unknown people. I am a licensed veterinarian but I am currently in grad school so I am very flexible. I can be home all day if needed, and can provide close supervision. I have a 3 year old female German Shepherd (very friendly!) and cats (mostly outdoor). I am free to drop in during the week or board animals for extended periods, and if your animal needs medications administered as part of their care I am very capable.

“Bella was so excited to see Brette again after the greet and meet before hand. Let's just say she was a very happy camper! Brette sent pictures each day showing how happy and active Bella was doing. I have another trip planned and have definitely booked Brette. You couldn't ask for a more attentive sitter for your pet. I am very pleased with her as my sitter when needed.”

“Marah took excellent care of our pup, Stella! She sent pics throughout her stay and was very responsive and accommodating. We have already booked another stay with her! Highly recommend this sitter :)”
