“This was Tucker and Bailey's first visit. I was so pleased with the care they received while we were out of town. I received a couple updates that included pictures throughtout the week which was so nice. The kennel was large and seemed to have enough space for them which is helpful because they are kind of big dogs!”

“Shannon was absolutely incredible and treated my girls like they were her own! We received pictures and updates every single day and she went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of! 5 stars isn’t even enough to show our gratitude for taking such wonderful care of our dogs!”

“Emily took absolute EXCELLENT CARE of our sweet pup! We were very nervous to leave our new puppy while out of town, but after reading Emily's reviews, we thought it may be okay. Emily was so kind to have us over for a puppy play date so we would feel comfortable with our pup staying there for a week. Immediately, our dog felt right at home! It was such a relief knowing he was in good hands while we were away. Her fenced in yard is perfect for lots of outdoor play, and her home is set up ideally for caring for dogs. While we were out of town, she responded quickly to my messages asking about how he was doing, and we so appreciated all the updates and pictures. I can tell he had a blast, and we are so happy to have found Emily on Rover! We definitely recommend her, and we will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you!”

Thank you so much Donna for all the love and care you gave to my lilman . ❤️❤️”

“Look no Further!! Marah, is absolutely the best! Every request made for my pup was for filled and no matter how many guest she has you will think yours was given all the attention all day. I don't know how she does it be she does! She is a true animal lover. She takes them for walks and keep you updated with photos as well. I have used other services and associates and I feel so at peace knowing my pup will be safe when I am gone and well when I pick him up. I will happily return as I appreciate her spoiling my baby even more than I do!”
“Vanda was amazing. She took our request on short notice, she communicated really well, and she sent us pictures of our girls while we were gone. They seemed very happy when we picked them up! Thank you Vanda! Would definitely book with her again.”

“13/10 recommene!! Kaitie and her family took a good care of my baby girl. They are very flexible of drop off/pick up time and allow your pup to sleep with them in bed at nights. Multiple pics were sent each day. She is super sweet!! Will definitely recommend to anyone.”

“Maverick loves when we pull up to Nancy’s house. It’s his home away from home! He has an instant dog friend and a warm & cozy house to play and relax in. I love getting pictures of him playing with DeDe and other dog friends. I’m so thankful Nancy is very accommodating with our crazy drop off and pick up times!”

“Trooper had an awesome stay with David! I received daily updates and photos, which really put my mind at ease. It was clear Trooper enjoyed the long walks, plenty of attention, and excellent care. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with David again in the future!”

“They looked like they had a great time! Was given plenty of attention and treats. Did not appear overly hungry or thirsty when we brought them back home telling me they were given plenty of food and water. Liked that Lydia has a fenced in back yard and appreciated the daily picture updates and video without me having to ask first. Was also able to get us in last minute and was very responsive. Would highly recommend!”

“Mac is very nice and Gemma loved being there and playing with her dog. She sent regular check ups with us and sending pictures. Gemma is actually missing her best friend!!! She is either tired or missing her friend due to she has been sleeping alot. I will definitely bring Gemma back. She has very nice and quite place for any dog to play.”

“Shawn was wonderful! She kept me updated throughout the entire stay. My pups were very comfortable and happy during their stay. I would choose Shawn every time to watch my pups, they had an amazing time! I didn’t have to worry about my dogs once while they were in Shawn’s care!”

“I left my puppy to Erin and Matthew when me and my wife went on vacation and they did a great job! They made sure to send many pics and videos of him to show me that he was doing well. When I picked him up I could tell he was taken care of well! Would highly recommend!”

“Kim was great! My dog happily ate and played in her care. He came home absolutely worn out. They were super friendly and sent pictures and updates! Will definitely be using them again!”

“Holly was super flexible with a super short notice to take care of our 9lb-13mo old-cute-spoiled-baby girl-wiener Pitanga. It was the very first time Pitanga spent the night away from mom and dad and Holly sent lots of pictures of our puppy along the day. I’ll definitely ask Holly to take care of her again in the future. “Katie did a phenomenal job checking in on our cat! Each visit, she took a nice handful of photos, provided detailed notes on the visit, and spent quality time with our grumpy old lady, determined to win her over. She was also very tidy and washed out previous dinner bowls unprompted.”

“Hunter is an absolutely great pet sitter. She has helped me out well over 50 times and she consistently provides great service. She is good in communication and takes time to form a connection with those in her care. Hunter is a kind person, even delivering dinner to me after my mother passed recently. Such a jewel! I can't recommend her enough!”

“Everything went great with Natasha! I had to have my mom pick up and drop off and Natasha was so flexible. She had my two cats for a week. I got updates and pictures to let me know how they were doing which made me so much more at ease. It was my first time using Rover and she made it such a good experience! Will definitely use her again!”

“Selena was able to watch my cat with only three days notice. My regular sitter canceled at the last minute before my vacation. My cat was happy and healthy when I returned home. The feeding schedules were a little different than he was used to because we were squeezed in at the last minute.”

“Sophia checked on my cats while I was traveling. She made sure they had food and water, kept the litter box clean, and provided them with company while I was away. Sophia was very conscientious and caring with my cats, and I recommend booking her!”

“I was most pleased with leaving my cats with Katie for 2 weeks. She came by twice a day to feed and tend the litter box. She was punctual everyday and gave the cats the attention they needed. I will definitely book with her again.”

About: I am a recent animal science grad from Virginia Tech, pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. My journey in this field began at a young age when I commenced volunteering at an animal shelter, an endeavor that has remained a cherished source of solace and fulfillment. Over the years, I have garnered hands-on experience through roles as a kennel attendant and doggy daycare handler at a veterinary clinic and grooming center. Presently, I am engaged in an internship under the guidance of a seasoned veterinarian. Additionally, I have accumulated four years of experience in house and pet sitting, catering to animals of varying sizes, ranging from 150-pound Cane Corsos to 10-pound Yorkies, and have cared for both arthritic and diabetic seniors in the past. Complementing this professional background, I am also a devoted owner of three dogs. Taking time off before moving and starting a new job. I’m currently free all day to hangout with your fur babies, happy to help make your schedule easier! Whether you have a couch potato or a runner, I’m happy to do it all! I love hanging out with a furry friends and do whatever they like!
“Chloe was really great to work with our big dog. He has separation anxiety and can be a nervous and shy dog. She did a meet and greet beforehand, listened and asked questions about him. She also sent lots of photos and updates on his first day to make sure we knew he had settled and was doing okay. Really great experience to have for our 80lbs sensitive boy. Thank you!”

“I couldn't ask for a better dog sitter. Marah will love your dog as if it was her own and I feel so comfortable dropping my pup off at her place. She is a gem of a person!”

“Emily took care of our puppy George for the day and she took excellent care of him. He played with the other dogs she was dog sitting for and sent lots of pictures. We would definitely use Emily again and would recommend her!”

“My dog Max appeared to have a wonderful time at Richard and Kelly’s. It’s awesome to have found a place close to work and home to take him for daycare :) 100% going again !!”

“Penny and Evan were great with our little “high anxiety” fur baby. During the “meet and greet” Penny had us come in and take him straight to the fenced back yard where he could sniff around and go to the bathroom. Knowing about his anxiety, once we went back inside, Penny never tried to pet him, she just allowed him to get used to her being in the room. She was a very calming presence for him. Evan likewise was patient with him and allowed him the time it took to settle and get comfortable. We are thrilled to have found Penny and Even and the bonus is that they live about 4 minutes from our house! We have already booked the next daycare appointment!”

About: I am a new sitter on Rover, but don’t let that put you off. :) My family has never known a time where we didn’t have pets! When I was five years old, my parents entrusted to me a sweet black kitty for whom I was solely responsible for. Not only did this experience affirm my love for animals, but it also jumpstarted me into a world of responsibility! Since then, we have rescued dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, happily welcoming “bully” breeds and giving them all the love and care they deserve! I’ve cared for elderly dogs and cats with and without disabilities, as well as those who need certain medications or injections. Further, big breeds do not intimidate me- I love them! Perhaps most importantly, I will love and care for your pet as if it were my own! ❤️ I am currently a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and as such, my weekdays are fairly busy until the evenings. If you need overnight care on the weekdays, let me know and we can work something out! I typically have a couple meetings in the mornings that I can conduct on zoom, but I do have in person class from 2-5 that I will need to leave your home for. Fridays and weekends, however, are wide open! I have two sweet, playful cats currently and live in an apartment, so it is likely that care will be provided in your house! I often find this is better anyway, as your pet is already comfortable in their home and less likely to feel stress with change.
“Nancy’s was great! We were in town for graduation and needed a pet sitter for a few hours to attend the ceremony. Nancy’s was very attentive and excited to take care of Chai. She was in great hands and I highly recommend her to anybody who wants extra special treatment for their pup.”

“Kaleb took great care of Presley while I went away for the day! I received pictures and videos throughout his stay, which was greatly appreciated! Presley had so much fun playing with Kaleb’s pups, he is worn out! Thank you for taking great care of my baby!!! We will be coming back!”

“Emily and Ryan were very responsive, and provided kind and appropriate care to our 14 mo mini Poodle. Emily was very helpful in learning to use Rover (this was our first time). She was also very helpful in making sure we were able to meet some last minute needs. We greatly appreciate the pictures and updates during the day! We would definitely recommend Emily, and hope to use her services again soon!”

I am comfortable handling large dogs (I have a lot of practice in my line of work as a veterinarian). I am also comfortable with young animals, cats, older animals, and any animal requiring high levels of care.

About: I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I have been pet sitting and taking care of dogs for ten years and have loved each and every animal I have cared for as if they were my own. I have owned dogs and cats my whole life and have trained them myself as I got older. I have experience with puppies under the age of one and will play with them until they can’t play anymore. Your animals are my top priority when I am caring for them, and I will love them as much as you do until you can get back to them. I am able to care for your pets any time. I will be starting school in the fall, but that will not impact the way I love and care for your pets due to the way my class schedule is structured. I have a very friendly lab that loves to play with other dogs. I ensure that when I am in someone else’s home, I am supervising the dogs while I also make sure they are getting the exercise and enrichment required for their breed and temperament. Every dog needs different treatment, and I will adjust the way I care for them based on their own needs.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 9 years old, starting with my neighbor’s two senior pups who needed daily medication. Since then, I’ve looked after dogs of all ages, from high-energy puppies to sweet seniors, and I’ve always loved getting to know their unique personalities. I’ve had three dogs of my own. My first was a gentle Bernese Mountain Dog named Hope, and when i’m home from college, I live with my two Mini Australian Shepherds, Maggie and Tobi. They’re almost 9 years old and full of energy and affection. I also regularly care for my sister’s 2-year-old Berner named Keatts, and I help my boyfriend’s family with their four dogs—a Pomeranian and three Dachshunds ranging in age from 1 to 12—whenever they go out of town. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. One of my Aussies has fear-based aggression, so I’ve learned how to stay calm, patient, and supportive when working with anxious or reactive dogs. Whether it’s giving medication, keeping a routine, helping a nervous dog feel safe, or just getting their zoomies out with playtime, I always care for every dog like they’re my own. I’m reliable, attentive, and truly love what I do. As a full-time student at Virginia Tech, I have a structured class schedule but also plenty of breaks throughout the day. Those gaps give me the flexibility to care for pets and check in on them regularly—typically every 2–6 hours depending on the day. I make sure to stay available and responsive, and I’m open to adjusting my routine as needed to best fit each animal’s needs. Pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for every day, so if you need someone who’s dependable and easy to reach, I’ll likely be available when you need me. Whether it’s daily drop-ins, long walks, or extended stays, I’m happy to work around your schedule and your pet’s needs. I currently only offer overnight pet care in my apartment. When pets stay with me, I make sure they have a safe, comfortable environment and maintain their normal routines as closely as possible. This includes regular feeding, walks or playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day and evening. Since I’m home overnight, pets are never left alone for long stretches, and I keep communication open with owners to provide updates and adjust care if needed. I treat every pet like my own, giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection. Whether your dog needs regular walks or your cat prefers quiet companionship, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for in their new environment.

“Sidney did an incredible job with my German Shepherd! She sent pictures and checked in regularly to put me at ease. If you’re in Roanoke, Sidney as your pet sitter is the best choice you can make!!”

Super recommend!”

“Amari was absolutely wonderful with Frost! She took him on very short notice, which I greatly appreciated, and he had an amazing time in her care. It was clear from the updates and from how happy and relaxed Frost was when we picked him up that he was well cared for and loved. Amari is reliable, communicative, and genuinely enjoys spending time with the dogs she watches. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. Thank you, Amari, for taking such great care of Frost!”
