About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

About: I have two dogs of my own that I’ve had since puppy-hood. Ever since I was a kid, my heart would joyously melt in front of any and every four legged friend. I love getting to know other animals, and take care of them as if they were my own. I got my start pet sitting by looking after my friends and neighbors’ dogs and cats on occasion. At present, my longest cat sitting gig was 3 weeks straight in which I stayed with my fur friend for ~6-8 hours a day just to keep her company. I work remotely, so my workstation is mobile. In this was I can make most pet-sitting tasks and hours work— while assuring your pets have company, enrichment, and supervision. (As an aside, I go by both Vera and Amanda and use them interchangably) I work remotely 10am-6pm monday-friday. Ideally, i prefer to visit pets and take care of them anytime before 10am, but my calendar is very flexible. My workstation is mobile, so if desired, I can keep your pet company for extended periods of time during the day. I’m also available all day on the weeknds. I have 2 dogs that I love dearly and walk 2-3 times every single day at routine times. I brush them frequently, I strap on little booties for their paws daily to protect them from the hot pavement, and I play with them to their little hearts content.

Given that this was her first night away from me in RI, Devorat went above and beyond to ensure that both Pepper and I were comfortable with her space by arranging a meeting prior to the booking. Devorat has a large space that includes an enclosed yard for active dogs. That is on top of the dog walks they did together. I appreciated that, as did Pepper. Devorat sent check-ins in the form of photos and videos letting me enjoy my mini vacation with ease. I can’t wait to book with Devorat again soon. Highly recommend!!”
