I can handle large, medium, and small dogs and will look to give them long walks and lots of exercise as a good dog is a tired dog. About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for friends, family, and neighbors since I was 16 years old. Growing up, I have always had at least one dog in my house, so I am very comfortable with them. I have cared for cats, older dogs, younger dogs, many different breeds, and both male and female dogs. I have experience dog sitting, dog walking, and just doing mid-day check-ins. I'm currently walking dogs a couple of times a week while their owners are at work and have been dog-sitting very regularly. I love going on walks, hikes, and any other kind of adventure with pups and always cater to the needs of each individual dog. I have had dogs with health issues so I am comfortable watching dogs with physical injuries and following medication regimens. I already have some dog-walking clients so that is something to consider but my schedule is mostly pretty open for your dog needs! With the summer heat, I prefer walking dogs earlier in the day or later in the day so they don't get too overheated. But, of course, I am happy to walk your furry friends based on your schedule! Because I have two dogs I don't board dogs at my house. I am more than happy to watch your dogs at your own home. I also think most dogs prefer this because it is a comfortable and familiar environment. I have worked with dogs who use invisible fences, physical fences, or need to be on a leash anytime they're outside. I'm comfortable with any of these scenarios. I am very flexible and am happy to cater to the needs of you, your pet, and your home.

About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention - playing, feeding, and scratching behind the ears. I take my dog for swims in the river, off leash romps in the woods, and leashed walks around town. We also play fetch and tug-of-war in the house or on the deck. If your dog needs a playmate, my dog, Jackson, may be a good fit. My cats - depending on their mood - like to lounge in the sun, pounce on the occasional toy, run up stairs, and hunt for treats I've hidden for them.

“Marika was amazing! Feel very fortunate to have gotten her on short notice. My Viszla mix Susie loved her immediately. Marika took her on lots of walks (with tick check afterwards), sent updates, and her house/backyard space were perfect for an active breed. She went above and beyond when it came to making sure Susie was stimulated, making up little games for her to play with the squirrels and rabbits. Anytime I'm in the area I'll definitely be looking to book with Marika.”
