“Sarah is a godsend. We had out-of-town guests coming for a visit and our plans were solidified; our usual sitter had an unexpected engagement, leaving us scrambling to find someone to watch our rescue beagle, Sherlock. Our poor pup had a very rough start and has severe separation anxiety, and since we summer in our condo in Highlands, he cannot be left alone, or he will howl incessantly with his unnerving high shriek of terror (poor boy). We searched on Rover for days, and then we found Sarah. She responded quickly to our inquiry. Yay! Now, I’ve been a customer on Rover for years (with our previous beagle), and Sarah had to be the utmost diligent. Lorrie indicated that her previous career was a veterinary technician for many years, which put my mind at ease. Her home is set up perfectly to attend to the needs of the dogs in her care. The home features a large, fenced in yard which allows dogs to get their outdoor time several times a day. She sent me daily text updates which included photos of my dogs. Being 600 miles away, the daily updates were very much appreciated. When I picked up my pups they were happy, healthy and they both gave her farewell kisses. Nice! He loves other dogs, is up to date on his core vaccines, and is currently unneutered. Because of him, I have firsthand experience with the unique care that long-bodied breeds require, including proper handling techniques and back protection. I’ve also cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I am American Red Cross Certified in Dog First Aid 🐾 and have experience caring for medical dogs who require a little extra attention. About: For the past 5 years, I’ve had a yellow labrador retriever named Hazel who is very energetic and playful. She’s my best friend! I’ve done house drop ins for friends and family for both dogs and cats to check in and take care of them. 💗 I currently work as a part-time before/aftercare teacher at a couple different elementary schools. I work Monday-Friday but have availability from 9:30am-2:30pm and after 6 pm. My weekends are free! I help my family feed our dog and provide her with water. I also take her on walks, to the park or play fetch in our backyard which has a good amount of running space for her.
