About: I am now retired and have total availability. For walks or drop ins I need to keep my service area within 5-7 miles. For longer stays I am willing to expand my area upon request. I'm retired now and travel extensively for part of the year, so I'm unable to have pets of my own and thought this would be a great way to keep busy while I am in town. I have a doggy door and a large, gated backyard for games of fetch or hide and seek. I will provide a safe, loving home while you are away or drop-in if you so choose. When I'm in NOLA, I often work part-time from home. I'm retired so you could call me a homebody, and I'm often found working in my garden. In the fourth quarter of the year, I do travel until thanksgiving but will keep my calendar here updated. I am relatively flexible with scheduling. My son recently moved and took his Boston Terrier with him, so there are no longer any pets in my home. About: I lost my own dog, Maika, a few years ago. She was 14 years old but it was way too early … I’m not ready to get a new dog myself, so Rover has been perfect. I moved to New Orleans a few years ago from Minnesota, where I was also an active member of Rover. My partner, Jonathan, and I bought a house that was built in 1909 — originally as an outdoor market in Holy Cross. It’s now a huge open space attached to a large fenced in yard. Dogs love it!. The dogs hang with me and I usually leave the door open to the back yard, which is basically a mini park with several fruit trrees. The neighborhood itself is also wonderful, there’s a large open field that is fenced in, I a great place for playing fetch or chasing frisbees. The levee is also perfect for long morning or evening walks. I''m a writer and work from home, so having a pup or two around is a real pleasure. I often take the dogs on walks or runs along the levee. But there’s also plenty of space in the house in yard if they just want to chill at home.
