“I cannot say enough great things about Francis! She watched my senior dog, Madi, for a week while I was on vacation. Just before I dropped her off, Madi had been scratching and developed an issue with her eye pressure and had to start eye drops. Francis welcomed her with open arms. A few days into her stay, Madi needed a follow-up vet visit, and Francis took her in and handled everything—including her meds and eye drops—with so much care and attention. Madi is also on heart meds and requires extra support, and Francis went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and well looked after. She sent me daily updates and photos of her relaxing on the couch or exploring her big backyard, which gave me so much peace of mind. I knew Madi was in loving, capable hands. Francis is kind, thoughtful, and clearly has a huge heart for animals—she had a senior dog herself so she understands. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Madi stay with Francis again. About: Hi there! Being an owner of 3 cats myself I know how hard and scary it can be to find a person to look after your precious kitties. I have grown up with cats since I was 11 years old and when I moved into an apartment on my own I immediately got myself a kitten to keep me company. My cats mean the world to me so I know exactly how tricky it can be to leave them while going out of town. I currently work full time as a veterinary technician so I know what signs to watch for in stressed/sick cats. I am able to medicate both orally or with injectables (such as insulin) if needed. While cats are mostly independent creatures I still believe it is extremely important to give them love and attention on a daily basis. In and post-university, I’ve helped care for both feline and canine family members— never my own, though. About: Hi, friends! I took a hiatus from Rover to catch up on life. I am now back, and ready to meet all the furry friends in the Jacksonville area! I recently relocated from Sarasota, and am new to Jacksonville. A quick bit about me: I am an animal lover. Growing up I was not allowed to have pets because of my mother's allergies, but would always give the best care for my friends' pets. I have been a part of this awesome Rover community for almost 10 years (wow) now, and have met some incredible people, some I now call family. I have both walked and sat (and even lived with) a variety of dog breeds, shapes, and sizes. Each has a different personality and unconditional love I look forward to interacting with every time. I am a server, and always want people to know that I do have a job that keeps me away for 5-6 hours at a time. Some pups can't be alone for that long and I completely understand! I do have a pretty flexible schedule, but always want to make sure your doggo's needs are met first. Dogs seem to take to me very well because I'm rather petite and don't pose a very big threat only being 4'11. I am looking forward to meeting you and your beloved pup pups!! As mentioned I do work as a server at night. Scheduling is pretty flexible in the summer months especially and more time off can be acquired. I do not have to be in until the late afternoon, giving me all day to spend hanging out with our furry four legged friends. I always ask owners if the dog is reactive on walks, and if there are any dogs in the neighborhood that they just don't seem to get along with and what time the owners usually perform their walks, feedings, etc. I don't want to disrupt a routine. I also ask if there are any quirks a dog may have and/or allergies. I also want to know how the dog (god for bid) reacts to a vet visit in case of an emergency.
“Gabriela was awesome! Her home was clean and she clearly had a space well set up for a cat despite the fact she did not own one herself at the time of my stay. She asked lots of important questions (how does he socialize with other animals, what would be best not to stress him out, should she leave doors closed depending on if he was an indoor/outdoor cat) that really helped make it clear she was thinking of everything my cat would need. She was always responsive when called upon and took time out of her day to provide text and picture updates almost every day. Would highly recommend her and would 100% trust her to watch my cat any day.”

About: Have had dogs my whole life. When I was about three years old, I began taking care of my family dog by feeding and playing with him (Andy) regularly. I would often walk the neighbors dogs for entertainment and exercise. I used to own a disabled dog, Kaiya. I rescued her from a family home who did not have enough time to properly care for her. She had arthritis and thyroid problems. She became a therapy dog that I took to visit nursing homes for mental and emotional support for the enderly and disabled. She lived to be 16 years old before cancer took her from me. During the later years in her life, she was unable to climb stairs and was often carried up and down stairs and took daily medication. She was very happy and always mentally and physically stimulated. Currently I own a large puppy that we reduced from a shelter. I have visited and sat for dogs belonging to friends and family members. None of them died, became ill, or suffered any injuries while in my care. About: Been taking care of animals since I was a kid. I’ve had cats and digs growing up my entire life! I love to be active and walk and have free time and would love to be around animals I am Flexible all week and weekend when in town. I do travel often. Want to stay busy when I am in town and love animals! I can do whatever is needed. I have a fenced in yard and crate of my own. I only crate mine now when needed but that is not often as he is older. About: I have taken care of animals my whole life, and have cared for 4 dogs in my home until. I love dogs, the outdoors, and being active, so dog walking is super fun for me! I have experience with high-energy dogs as well as slower senior pups. I work part-time and have a very flexible schedule, so I have plenty of free time for your pets! I’m currently available all day (including early mornings) until evening, Monday-Saturday for walks or check-in visits. I currently have Bo, a senior pitbull, who is super chill and has no problems with other dogs. I also recently got a Belgian Malinois puppy named Darth Vader! Mercury, my brother’s 6 year old Australian Cattle dog, loves to play and I take care of him on occasion. We have a large patio and pool that dogs can enjoy laying in the sun or swimming! I also have a super walk able neighborhood, with a walking trail that is off the pavement. Additionally, I do enjoy taking dogs in the car for walks in new locations or trips to the dog beach/park!
