It was our first time using Rover to find a dog sitter. We had a more peculiar situation with a larger size timid dog. It helped knowing she was okay with just sitting only our dog for a few days since it seemed other sitters sometimes sat multiple dogs at once. A sitter with a fenced in yard was something we wanted to have, since in case walking our timid dog potentially was a challenge, the fenced in yard was an alternative for him doing his business. He warmed up well enough though. She was local to us so we didn’t have to drive too far. It was awesome she accepted a bigger dog since some sitters don’t. She had competitive rates at the time of listing in comparison to other Rover sitters that we were looking at. Overall if needed we could see ourselves requesting future bookings again.”

About: My wife and I have been pet sitting for several years. My clients have all become part of the family. I genuinely love being around animals, going for walks and spending time with animals. We were dog sitting previously in Canada while living there, we would be happy to provide you with additional references. We have the friendliest 7 year old Irish setter who absolutely loves being around people and dogs (He spends a lot of his time at Fred Popp dog park running in circles for an hour). He loves both large and small dogs and he does not seem to care if they are female or male. When pet sitting at your home, my dog will stay home with his other family members . We work from home so were always around. We love walking and being outdoors so your pet will get lots of exercise (I can track the pets walks on my phone and send updates and photos so you know your buddy is having a great time). We will always discuss the pets needs before caring for them as every pet is different and deserves the staycation that's best for them. We will discuss the pets' needs with the owner and come up with a plan that they are comfortable. (I'll do my best to stick to the same routine they have at home )

About: We adopted our first pups in 2004 and cared for them for 18 pup-snuggled years. During that time, and since then, we have rescued, fostered and adopted animals of all kinds to include chickens, ducks and a pig named Kevin Bacon! Currently, we're home to Guinevere, the mild-mannered, 6 year-old rescued mutt. We do have an 11-year-old hooman "puppy" who is just as loving and respectful of animals as we are. We will love and care for your fur-babies as if they were our very own. We are home almost all day, every day, so your pet will never be alone. I homeschool our son, and my husband works from home. Your pet will have ample opportunities to play outside in our 1/2 acre back yard. Our neighborhood is very quiet with houses situated on ~acre lots. We have neighbors with dogs, but they usually just run over to the fence to say hello and then go about their business. In our home, your fur-babies can roam freely, and they will have access to our 1/2, partially shaded, completely fenced-in back yard as often as they need. If your dog is one who prefers walks, our peaceful neighborhood has lots of places to explore; there is a nice park 1/2 mile away where they can sniff around where all of the turtles and ducks like to hang out. Pups who stay with us overnight are welcome to stay in their crate (if that's what they prefer), anywhere in the house, and, likely, on one of our beds.
About: You could probably say I enjoy being around dogs more than most people. I consider dogs angels. I love to spoil them. My two girls are very spoiled. I have always had a dog. At one time I had 4 large dogs. I know what distress looks like and I know animal safeguarding. My husband and I have a deep bond with animals. We will care for your dog just as if they were ours. About: I had dogs growing up and they always brought so much joy. I have fostered animals mostly puppies and at one time I had 5 puppies that I was potty training. If your pet requires medication via needle or pill, I am comfortable with either. I work from home and I am flexible in taking care of your pet. Whether it is a walk, daily feeding or sleep over I am home most of the time. If your fur baby is staying the night, we will discuss specific needs, such as feeding time, treats, walks, etc. if I am walking your fur baby, is there a specific area or length of walk you prefer. I am also available to let your dog out during the day and make sure your fur baby has enough water.

“We had a great introduction and walk. Our dog is afraid of new people, but with proper introduction (and the right treats) he warms up well. For this first walk we where present the whole time to make sure our dog’s comfort and confidence would open up. We wanted to find a Rover person who in future we could possibly board with. So we needed him to be happy and relaxed with the new Rover person. At first our dog was nervous and wary, which historically he usually is with new people. But after a bit time and space, yummy treats, and remaning a comfortable walking distance apart from Joshua, his curiousity grew enough where he was willing to approach. Josh got down to his level and which allowed our dog to approach Josh on his own will. When that moment happened we rewarded his curiousity with lots of praise and yummy treats. From then on we walked side by side with Joshua, and our dog warmed up enough where he was frequently looking back anticipating more pets and treats from Joshua during the walk. Joshua also asked us great questions about our dog and his history, to figure out how to best work with him. In the end our dog was so happy when Joshua said “good bye Stitch,” he actually did one last hop-skip towards Josh even though we were getting ready to go to our car the opposite direction away. We have much gratitude for the opportunity to work with Joshua to socialize him more. We are planning on booking in the future for some types of walks too and would be willing to board if needed.”

Over the years, we’ve shared our home with animals of all ages — from playful puppies to wise senior dogs who lived happy, healthy lives well into their late teens (some as old as 19!). We’ve raised many litters of puppies and know firsthand the love, patience, and care that every stage of life requires. We treat every pet like part of our family, with plenty of attention, affection, and understanding of their individual needs. Whether your furry friend needs gentle senior care, energetic walks, or simply a calm, loving presence while you’re away, we’re here to provide peace of mind and heartfelt care. My husband and I recently stepped back from our property management work, which has opened up a lot of time in our daily and weekly schedule. Caring for animals has always been a big part of our lives, so we’re excited to fill that time doing something we truly love — spending time with pets! We now have a flexible schedule that allows us to give each pet the attention, care, and consistency they deserve. Whether it’s drop-in visits or daily walks, we can easily adjust our days around your pet’s routine to make sure they always feel safe, loved, and cared for. When we care for pets in a client’s home, we treat both the pet and the home with the same respect and care we would our own. We always follow your instructions carefully — from feeding schedules and walks to preferred routines and house rules — so your pet feels comfortable and secure while you’re away. We take safety seriously, making sure doors and gates are properly secured, leashes are used at all times on walks, and pets are never left unsupervised in unsafe areas. We believe trust is built through communication, so we provide regular updates and photos to give you peace of mind while your pet enjoys familiar surroundings.

About: In addition to caring for a small family dog my entire life, I previously worked as a veterinary assistant in a spay and neuter clinic which gave me valuable skills in caring for dogs (and cats) of all breeds and sizes. As part of my employment, I completed and was certified in Fearfree animal care. Additionally, I have both volunteered and worked as an aquarist and husbandry technician at wildlife rescues! I’m currently a nursing student (and missing my own dog who we lost last April) and would love to offer my love and experience to care for your animal! I currently have open availability Friday-Sunday and most Wednesdays. I can also do Tuesday afternoons. I am more than happy to visit during the day to care for your animal. Depending on your needs, I can let them out, feed them, refill water dishes, and ensure their bedding is clean and fresh!

“Gail was excellent! She kept us posted and up to date routinely. We were happy to work with her. She was friendly and we could feel that she really loves dogs. It was our first time using Rover to find a dog sitter. We had a more peculiar situation with a larger size timid dog. It helped knowing she was okay with just sitting only our dog for a few days since it seemed other sitters sometimes sat multiple dogs at once. A sitter with a fenced in yard was something we wanted to have, since in case walking our timid dog potentially was a challenge, the fenced in yard was an alternative for him doing his business. He warmed up well enough though. She was local to us so we didn’t have to drive too far. It was awesome she accepted a bigger dog since some sitters don’t. She had competitive rates at the time of listing in comparison to other Rover sitters that we were looking at. Overall if needed we could see ourselves requesting future bookings again.”
