Quick story: One day, I noticed my mom’s chihuahua-papillon mix, Jacques Cousteau, scrunching his face as he tried to eat crunchy food. I went to PetSmart and brought home the healthiest soft food I could find. When he braced himself to bite into it but didn’t hurt his old teeth, he ran over and jumped onto my lap, licking my whole face until I was laughing, knowing he felt seen. He gained a few pounds over the next few weeks (6 pounds to 9, 50% more!). I was so happy that he could eat again without pain. He lived to be about 15 years old! For a chihuahua, that’s a very long happy life. I will treat your dog like it’s my own. Please share any special care needs with me. I am able to be very attentive. Your dog will be my top priority. I cater to special needs. Happy to send photos throughout the day. We treat them like family and have 4 responsible adults who share the space, all love dogs. About: Howdy! I’m a EMT student trying to incorporate my love for animals in with keeping in shape for my next career. About: Hello! I have been an animal lover/owner all my life. I currently have a pup named Page who is a year and 2 months old and a previous pet Mia, who was epileptic and took daily medications to thrive. This helped to build my love and patience for pets! We enjoy going for car drives, exploring new trails, and beach days when the weather permits. I know that there can be angst when it comes to having to book a pet sitter as I too just started using the service. I have met some amazing pet care givers and decided I would love to try my hand since I have had so many years of experience with puppies, cats and adult dogs. My home space is very peaceful. I have a back yard that is fenced in for play time or just to sun bathe. I am also open to coming to your home for your convenience. If you have any questions or would like to have a phone call feel free to message me :) I work from home so I am blessed with the ability to be very hands on with my pet (and yours!) . We take frequent walks and potty breaks and typically work on a daily set schedule yet we are very flexible. I have a fenced backyard for potty breaks, play and sun bathing. I also have a spare bedroom in which I have a medium size cage, and other pet materials. You are more than welcome to bring your own cage and or any items that your pet would love to have in your absence.
About: I am a first year vet student. I was a vet tech for 5 years before getting into vet school. I am Fear Free certified. I have loved animals all my life. I have four babies of my own. Two cats, Ravioli and Rigatoni, a dog, Macaroni, and a bearded dragon, Spyro. I always make time for animals. They are the light of my life and why I chose vet medicine. Working with animals makes my heart happy. I will work with you to accommodate both of our schedules and needs ! I walk my own dog 4 to 6 times a day. She also loves to play frisbee. She is a very friendly girl. My cats are perfect. I clean their litter boxes about every other day.
About: I’ve work with dogs and other animals for the last 8 years. From puppies to seniors and everything in between. I’ve also helped train a few service dogs and actively show and compete in sports with my own dog. My life is centered around my dog and I work from home. I can be extremely flexible to fit almost any need or rigorous schedule. I have an apartment by myself, with my 1 dog, with nice trails and fenced in areas to let pets play off leash. I also have different enrichment toys and other exercises for physical and mental stimulation.
About: I absolutely love animals, especially dogs. I’ve raised my own chocolate lab the past 9 years as well as having dogs my whole life back home. I am a graduate student at UF so I do have a busy class schedule but have weekends free! I’m home a lot outside of class time. I’ve been pet sitting full time in the Sarasota/Bradenton/Tampa area (I am now in Gainesville, FL) for over 4 years now but in that time I’ve met over a dozen new families! It feels crazy that I've made lifelong connections with something that was just supposed to be part time. (If you can’t tell I LOVE my job and enjoying connecting and caring for every new family.🥰 ) I took about a year off, only pet sitting for my regulars but now that I'm settled into Gainesville I'm opening my schedule for new clients! As much as I love cuddling and playing trust is everything and if you have an especially anxious pup or just mistrusting, I can give them the space they need and show them they can trust this new person in their house by taking things at their speed. As far as a daily routine I like to adapt to whatever the dog or cat's schedule is but at the end of the night love ending up on the couch cuddling watching tv! Since I do this full time my schedule is according to my client's pretty simple. On my days off though I still like to keep a routine sleeping until my cat cries for wet food, stretching, and journaling every single morning. Throughout the week I do strength training and am taking an online bookkeeping class. Safety for me and you pet is always going to be number one over everything. If a dog or cat feels unsafe, things can only go down from there. The key is to give a fearful or uncomfortable pet SPACE and let them come to me.
