About: About Me Hi there! I’m a lifelong dog lover and retired Los Angeles firefighter who recently relocated to Middletown. Dogs aren't just a passion of mine—they’ve been my life’s work. Over the past 17+ years, I’ve worked as a professional Search and Rescue K9 handler, raising and working alongside three incredible SAR dogs of my own and helping train dozens more toward official certification. Now in my retirement, my days revolve around outdoor adventures, active play, and giving dogs the best possible care while their owners are away. My trusty companion Mojo, a friendly rescue pup, loves meeting new playmates and welcoming guests! What Sets My Care Apart * Safe, Active, and Enriched: I walk or hike almost daily and love taking guest dogs along for the journey! Whether your pup enjoys a leisurely neighborhood stroll, learning to hike safely, or exploring new surroundings, they’ll get plenty of physical exercise and fun. * Positive, Brain-Boosting Fun: My training philosophy is rooted in positive reinforcement and reward-based training. I love watching what behaviors dogs naturally offer and shaping them into fun new "tricks." It’s an incredible bonding experience that gives dogs great mental stimulation and keeps them happily engaged. * Spacious Acreage: I have a wonderful local property with tons of room for dogs to run, play, and burn off energy in a calm, safe environment (fully fenced as of late September!). * Unmatched Peace of Mind: Being fully retired means I am almost always home! I never host or board dogs on days when I need to be away for more than a couple of hours, ensuring your pet gets round-the-clock attention, safety, and companionship. Guests and Compatibility I am completely comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and life stages—from energetic puppies to senior companions. I also occasionally foster rescue dogs, so Mojo and I are well-versed in hosting social pups who enjoy extra canine company. Need help fine-tuning your dog’s leash manners during their stay? Just ask—we can easily discuss building positive leash habits while they’re here! Reach out today to schedule a meet-and-greet. Mojo and I can’t wait to welcome your pup to their home away from home! Being retired means my entire day is built around quality pet care! Our mornings always start with a good outdoor workout, followed by short, engaging training and exercise sessions spread throughout the day. Because I am home full-time, your pup will enjoy a structured routine packed with continuous companionship, mental enrichment, and plenty of activity. Your dog’s safety and peace of mind are my top priorities. My home is nestled in a quiet, low-traffic rural area, offering a calm and peaceful setting away from busy streets. Outdoor playtime happens in a spacious, full-acre yard—completely fenced as of September 21st—giving pets a secure, massive space to run and play freely. To ensure constant security and supervision, my property is also equipped with indoor and outdoor smart cameras, so I always have an eye on my guests whether we're inside or out in the yard.
“Cassandra & Nolan took excellent care of my Rosie girl while I was on a day trip to NYC. Frequent walks, cuddles, playtime, and plenty of photo updates. She enjoyed taking part in their holiday celebration! I will definitely book them again next time I'm in CT.”

“Janelle was so great! This was our first stay with her and she made sure our dogs were comfortable and it was the perfect fit. We were given pictures and updates too. I have complete trust in her and will definitely use her again in the future!”

About: Hi! My name is Douglas, Doug for short. Currently a proud papa to a golden lab named Sunny, and a grey longhair cat named Remy. My best friend is a pug/chihuahua mix named Taz. I also had an old man chihuahua named Finn, and I’ll forever miss him. I feel like I speak dog, I know how to tailor my personality to meet the needs of any dog. Cliche to say but I am better with animals than with people. I am responsible, gentle, caring, and a big rule follower. I have pretty open availability throughout the week so I have lots of time to hang out with your dogs! Let me know what you need and I should be able to make it work! I have experience with crate training my dog so I am comfortable playing with your dog in the house or yard, and switching them to their crate if needed.
“Scheduled this completely last minute when I was already away just for peace of mind. Aly was amazingly understanding of my situation and was there within 30 minutes. Highly recommend.”
About: I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life and have experienced every stage of all of their lives. Definitely not new to a majority of things!! I’m currently home after graduating college this past spring and I’m looking to make some extra money and with Rover I can have fun doing it! I understand the love and care that people have for their pets and want to be able to provide that for yours. I know different dogs have different needs and I’m here to care for them!

“WOW. Jade is fantastic! This was our first time away from our two cats. Jade stepped right in, knew all the right questions to ask, and really tried to bond/get acquainted with each of them. (We have two older cats who prefer closets and dark spaces over human interaction so we were really nervous about leaving them.) We instantly felt at ease with Jade and his confidence in taking care of our little feisty ladies. We just got home from our trip and both are happy and healthy. He even took out our trash can and brought in our mail without us having to ask. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Jade, thank you for making our first trip away from our furbabies a pleasant one! We truly appreciate you!”

“Giselle was great checking on our cats while we were away. She sent daily updates including video clips spending time, petting, brushing and interacting with our two kitties. I believe spending a half hour a day. We returned home to everything tidy and a fresh litter box. We very much appreciate it as we miss our guys when away and glad they got some special attention. Thank you!”

“My cat took instantly to Michelle during our get acquainted meeting. I felt very secure leaving Betsey in her care. She did not disappoint! The photos she sent showed a happy cat. I should mention that normally Betsey is very skittish. That did not show while Michelle took care of her”

“First time using Michele and she did a fantastic job with all my fur babies! I was especially concerned about the medicine, but she knows what she’s doing.🙏🏻 I found my new Pet Sitter! I’m so happy”

“Sarah took excellent care of our 2 cats. She bonded right away with our friendly guy and even got our shy one to let her pet him! We will definitely seek her help again in the future.”

“Cole was immediately accepted into our family of 3 humans and 2 cats. Even our ‘scaredy’ cat warmed up to him quickly! Cole was nothing but warm, professional, friendly, flexible and compassionate. We knew right away that he was the right sitter for our family. He was always in communication, sent sweet photos of our cats while we were away and really cared for our cats. He put our minds at peace while we were away. It is clear that Cole truly loves animals and is very good with them. We are so grateful for all of his love, care and patience.”

“Mahalah was very professional with quick responses to my requests to meet and greet, she was punctual for our visit and was well prepared for our meeting. I loved that she asked all the right questions and was comfortable with mine. The best part is that Mahalah really seemed to care about her responsibility as a sitter. She was very kind to my Jazzy Cat who needed extra care and compassion due to just losing our other cat. I also received detailed updates while we were away. I would highly recommend Mahalah !”

“Moose and our family absolutely adore Janelle and her kids! A very cozy, clean and comforting home for play, sleep and everything you may need for your pup for their stay! This was our first weekend at daycare and Moose is so excited every time we arrive and doesn’t even want to leave! We are so happy we found the perfect fit!”

“Inam and Jennifer are wonderful! Very communicative and Lola loved them from the beginning. Lola is so tired when she gets home and she hardly wants to leave when I pick her up. If you have a social dog that likes playing with other dogs they are the right fit!”

“Melanie was great with Haylee and provided a fun day for our little girl. This was the first time we have used a dog day care with Rover and were not sure how Haylee would be. About: I have always loved dogs. I have one dog at the moment and dog sitting fulfills my need for a second dog. I recently lost my first dog, Peekaboo the Cockapoo, and have been heart broken ever since. I do have an amazing dog Moose (3y/o 40# all American brown dog mix) and I don’t want her to ever feel lonely so hosting dogs or going to walk other dogs has been a great way for her to get personalized one on one attention! I love my dogs so much they bring me so much joy we love to take walks around my beautiful neighborhood 3 to 4 times a day we have space to play and beds to lay on and take naps in the sun, we look forward to getting the chance to meet you all soon ! I work full-time from home with a digital marketing career. I am able to monitor my animals all day. Every day we go for 3 to 4 walks around my mile and a quarter neighborhood block. I have tons of space for your dog to be crated or to nap on their bed or to nap on my bed I am very attentive to my animals needs. I typically know that if an animal is out of sight, then they must be getting into some thing so if I see that they don’t want to be near me, we go for a walk I’m always available for a pet or a cuddle in between my business calls. With the nearby trails, I am always out exploring with my animal friends
“I’m always appreciative for Will. He goes way above and beyond to make sure Romeo is cared for and loved. He’s always so kind and thoughtful when giving care to my little guy. Thank you so much Will and I will be using your services again! ?”

About: I’ve loved and cared for animals for most of my life, including dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to help with walking, feeding, playtime, basic grooming, and keeping pets comfortable while they are away. I understand that every pet has their own routine, energy level, and personality, so I take the time to follow instructions closely and make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and cared for. I’m especially patient with shy pets, senior pets, and dogs who need a little extra time to warm up. Whether your pet loves long walks, quiet companionship, structured routines, or lots of play, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I would want for my own babies. I work remotely, which gives me flexibility to provide attentive pet care throughout the day. I can usually accommodate walks, drop-in visits, feeding routines, playtime, and check-ins depending on your pet’s needs and my schedule. I’m also available for weekend care and can work with owners to keep pets on their normal routine as much as possible. Because I’m home often, pets in my care will receive regular attention, bathroom breaks, and companionship rather than being left alone for long stretches. I’ll always discuss timing and expectations ahead of time so your pet’s care plan is clear and reliable. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will follow your instructions carefully for feeding, medication, walks, crates, routines, house rules, and any special needs. I’ll make sure doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses are secure and will never take unnecessary risks with your pet. In your home, I’ll be respectful, clean, and careful with your space. In my home, pets will have a calm, supervised environment with plenty of attention and care. I’m happy to provide updates, photos, and messages so you feel confident that your pet is safe, comfortable, and being treated with kindness.

About: I’ve loved dogs my entire life and have been lucky enough to have a dog by my side for most of it. I’ve also cared for family and friends’ dogs over the years, as well as provided drop-in visits for cats. I am home the majority of the day, giving your pet plenty of love, playtime, and frequent potty breaks, along with lots of cuddles, attention, and companionship throughout the day! I live in a ranch-style home with no stairs, making it easy and comfortable for your pup to get around. While I don’t have a fenced-in backyard, I have a large yard with a dog lead, and I’m happy to take your dog on walks as well. Dogs are welcome on the furniture, because I want them to feel right at home! 😊
About: I've had pets since a young age from lizards, cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, turtles, guinea pigs and birds. I have a small dog of my own so I know I can give your pets lots the love and attention too whether they have fur, scales, or feathers! I work from home so all pets get get a lot of attention during the day. For dogs staying in my home, they get 3 walks a day in the morning, during my lunch break, and in the evening. I work from home so all pets get a lot of attention during the day. I love to spend my time after work going on walks and would love a buddy(s) to come with me! I am available from dog walking or in home visits after 5:15pm during the week and anytime on weekends. I think the best way to care for a pet is do exactly what they're comfortable with. I intend to have very open communication with pet parents to understand the likes, dislikes and behaviors of their fur-babies to make sure that they feel safe and comfortable. I do have a dog of my own so I also want to make sure all your pets get along with my Jax, who loves other animals.

“Maria did exceptional with my baby Snoopy! I was really scared since he suffers from extreme anxiety (He’s a rescue dog). He did great with Maria. She kept me informed and would send me pictures. She was very caring, gentle and comforting. Snoopy did very well with transition. I will definitely rebook with Maria.”

“Though new to Rover, Maritza was very good with our 15 yo Havanese Cisco for doggy daycare. There were two larger and younger dogs present as well. She’s working from home now, so she can take the dogs on frequent walks. She will soon have a large fenced in yard…even better! I will definitely use Maritza again, for overnights too.”

“Klaudia and her crew welcomed our anxious pup for daycare and he came home happy and actually seems to a bit less reactive to other dogs after a day with Winston and Bruno! Klaudia checked in several times and sent photos, which we loved, showing Loofy getting lost of attention. We're looking forward to doing an overnight in the near future.”

“Jenna was great with our anxious and jumpy pup. She took him on walks, spent good time outdoors, sent regular updates, and had a great, calming demeanor with him. She was very flexible even when we came to her last minute. Definitely recommend!”

“Ariadne did a great job caring for our puppy for a day on short notice! It's easy to tell that she loves animals and had a great time playing with our pup. Her fenced in backyard was an excellent and safe environment for our small dog.”

“Brittany is INCREDIBLE! I have a very energetic, high strung, unneutered shepherd who is not the easiest dog to find a walker for. He absolutely loves Brittany and she goes above and beyond for him constantly. She is experienced with shepherds, reactive dogs, and high energy breeds and I feel very comfortable having her care for my dog. She always goes the extra mile by giving him fresh water, working on training with him to support what I’m working on with him, and is firm but loving with him. She handles him so well and he absolutely adores her. I can’t recommend her enough! Brittany has been walking my dog for months, is consistently reliable, has great availability, and excellent communication. She is so trustworthy and a pleasure to work with!”

“Laura has been working with my puppy and me for about a month now - several days a week - and she is fabulous! Extremely responsive, responsible and helpful. I highly recommend her.”

About: I volunteered at a vet clinic for a summer when i was 13. Ive been a dog groomer for 2 years as well! So ive worked with all size dogs with different needs and temperaments! I also had an ESA husky in college that lived on campus with me. As she got older she had specific needs. (medication everyday, prescription food, i had to help her up and down stairs, help her on walks and hold her up to use the bathroom, among plenty of other needs) She helped me become who i am now. Each pet that is in my care, is taken care of and protected like my own. My husky Nala is the reason I got into working with animals. Before her, my entire life I loved them. I can work with any temperament. I have a very unique but also flexible schedule!! The days that are shown available are days I can 95% of the time always do! Im always willing to talk about availability and scheduling! I will always do my best for accommodating times Creating a welcoming personality for any dog needed when entering their home/territory! Every dog is different and needs a different approach. Details are the most important to make sure your fur baby is comfortable.

I love to spend time with animals going on walks, playing with them and making sure they are well taken care of. I have experience with puppies, adolescent and senior dogs. I can’t wait to meet your pet and be there to help whenever you need! I’m currently a stay at home mom and am at home most days. I have 2 school aged children and I have flexibility and availability in my daily schedule. I am open to helping out with any and all needs for your pet. “While my partner and I were traveling, we hired Josh to walk our dog while she stayed at my in-laws house. He made a great impression on them, on us, and most importantly, our dog, Willow! She couldn't wait for her daily walk with Josh. Even during a heat wave, he made sure our girl was exercised and stimulated. He dutifully sent us sweet pics of her after each walk that truly made our day. We looked forward to his updates and he really delivered! My in-laws were so impressed with him and said he was an absolute pro - we couldn't agree more. I highly recommend Josh if you are looking for a reliable and experienced dog sitter or walker. He was extremely flexible to our needs. You really couldn't do better than Josh!”

About: Dogs have been my whole world for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was the neighborhood's unofficial dog-walker, so much so that our animal control officer would come to me when an older resident's high-energy dog needed extra exercise to stay comfortably in their home. One I'll never forget: Maggie, an assertive, energetic GSD who lived with a sweet older woman. The moment her owner opened the door, Maggie bolted. Her owner tried calling her back, but I just jingled my keys, and that was enough to catch Maggie's curiosity and gently guide her home. That instinct followed me into adulthood. In college, I worked at a dog training facility, teaching puppy obedience classes and running the daycare program, and I spent three semesters as a teaching assistant for canine behavior courses. By day, I'm a licensed therapist, so patient, warm energy, and being attuned to mood and behavior come naturally; skills that translate well to reading a nervous or excited dog. Today, I have my own dog, a remote private practice, and I'm working toward a certification in animal-assisted therapy, with a long-term dream of building a therapy farm where people can experience the same healing and joy that animals have given me my whole life. Whether your pup is laid-back or more energetic, I bring patient, warm energy, and genuine love for the work. I currently have my own remote private practice, and I make my own schedule for when I see clients. I mostly work Sundays and M-W afternoons/ evenings, but like I said, my schedule is pretty flexible. Dog walking could easily fit into almost time on any day of the week! I will care for your pets the same way I care for my own fur baby. She is family to me just like I know yours is to you. Their health and safety is my top priority at all times with fun and cuddles coming close behind in second place :)

About: Hi all! My name is Madison and I have many years of experience taking care of dogs and cats. I grew up with dog loving parents and we had two dogs I grew up with. They both crossed the rainbow bridge and it took years for us to recover. After 6 years without a dog, my mom adopted a German Shepherd who I often dog sit when my mom is away. I currently have my own 10 month old Corgi who is full of energy and two sweet cats. On my free time I also volunteer for Protectors of Animals and do the walking shift with the dogs in the shelter. I would love to provide you with the dedication and care that your animals deserve. I would love to do drop in visits or even a few dog walks when needed. Thank you and I hope to care for your animals soon! I am currently working at an elementary school full time as a paraprofessional and I am looking to take this on as part time on weekends or when school has breaks. In my own home, I care for my pets with such a loving manner. I never want any animal to feel like they are uncomfortable with me. If I needed to take things slow with a dog or cat I would love to meet them prior to the owner’s leaving for their vacation or work to see if this is a good fit.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and truly understand how much pets are family. I currently own both a dog and cat and have experience helping foster dogs of all ages and temperaments. I’m comfortable with routines, medication schedules, high-energy pets, and giving nervous animals extra patience and care. I am currently working full time as a night shift RN with a varying schedule but happy to care for your fur babies on days off and in between shifts. Happy to assist with overnight care with frequent drop ins but typically unable to stay overnight as I have fur babies of my own at home waiting for me :) As both a lifelong pet owner and healthcare professional, I value safety, trust, and consistency. I currently provide pet care exclusively in clients’ homes so pets can remain comfortable in their familiar environment and routines. I aim to create a calm, dependable experience with close attention to detail, reliable communication, and lots of care for every pet as if they were my own.

From our first meeting with them, it was clear that they had experience taking care of dogs and were very understanding and knowledgable about our dogs unique care needs. “Our dog can be a little skittish with new people, but she warmed right up to Alan and Luis! On her first day, they sent us great pictures of her running and playing. It was clear that she was already settled in and having so much fun. We have to plan another trip soon, so our pup can have another vacation with Alan and Luis!”

“Christle was amazing in every aspect with hosting my pet! Always great communication and nice touches with periodic updates. Could not have found a better sitter and look forward to reaching out for her Rover services again.”

“We truly appreciated Samarth's conscientiousness in watching our dog this past weekend. Our dog ended up not getting along well with his puppy and Samarth was very quick to notice this and careful about keeping the dogs separate for the weekend, while also making sure that our dog was well exercised and taken care of. This was a tricky situation - we felt bad that we were so far away and unable to help out and very appreciative of Samarth for his understanding.”

“Ricky and his family provide the best care for my girls! They are extremely loving, caring and flexible! I am so appreciative always for the love they give my girls! ❤️🐾”

“Melanie is amazing! She made us feel so comfortable with leaving our pup for the first time. Her level of communication was perfect and I think Shasta was genuinely sad to come home.”

“Great person!!! She took pictures while my dog was there. I was able to communicate with her without a problem. She let me know how my dog was doing. My dog seemed tk have had a blast. Thank you soo much for taking care of my tip.”

“We had a wonderful experience having Patriot stay with them while we were away. They took great care of him and made him feel like at home that I could tell in the pictures that he was comfortable and loved their attention. We look forward to having him stay again next month!”

“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave our dog! From the very beginning, Careen were kind, reliable, and attentive to every detail. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was in such loving hands. We could tell our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the stay.
