About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: Our pets are our family and they should be treated as such ❤️. I am a full time nurse and do not need this job but I have two dogs that were very difficult and stubborn to train and I would have loved to have someone like me to be there if I went out of town or on vacation because I only ever trusted myself with them. I never went on vacation in their younger years because I was so scared someone would be mean to them or not care for them like I would if I boarded them. So I have decided to do this part time because every pet should be treated with love and care because they ARE our family ❤️🐾. “Megan and her family were great! She has an excellent house for dog sitting with a great fenced backyard for roaming and exercise. She provided regular photos and videos which was very nice because it was hard to be away from our pup over the holidays. Her kids played with our dog and were very affectionate towards her and she seemed to miss all the attention they provided. Megan's own dog Theodore provided the "adult dog" calmness our hyper pup needed. Megan was very responsive and accommodating and we look forward to trusting our dog with her and her family again in the future. I would highly recommend Megan!”
