About: I am familiar with hunting dog breeds in training and behavior. I am also familiar with small breed dogs. I have trained my Wirehair pointer to hunt and have a Puggle that loves to snuggle. They are both high energy and I know how to get it all out. I am very hands on with them and supervise all activities. I am currently working a day job and will be available after 2:30pm. I can do overnight stays and visits if needed. I am available anytime during the weekends. I have a privacy fenced back yard and a chain link fenced front yard. My dogs are not allowed in the front yard without supervision as my large dog could jump the fence. The back yard has a doggy pool for hot summer days! Again all activities in the yard or house are monitored.

About: Hi there! I'm Miranda. It's nice to meet you. I've had more than a 30 years of caring for cats and dogs. I am a registered veterinary technician, and have worked off and on in a clinic setting since 2006. I grew up with cats, and got my first dog when I was 24. I've had many dogs and cats since then, a few with special needs. Meet and greets are required prior to me caring for your pet, just to make sure all of us are a good fit. I want your pets to be comfortable with me. Also, if your dog is trained, I like to stick with your commands. In addition to cats and dogs, I can also care for rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, snakes (sorry rats), reptiles, and even your spiders. Rabbits I am uncomfortable giving them medication, but I can do everything else for them. I can also help with cleaning a birds cage and feeding. I'm able to give medications to cats and dogs, can walk your Bearded Dragon or cat on a harness (not too far, tho.) I can also do subcutaneous fluid as well as intramuscular injections to snakes. I prefer to house sit for a max of 10 days as I like to spend time with my family and pets. I can be flexible, so please ask. I do not accept newly adopted pets as they want to get to know their new family and home prior to them going on trips. I will be able to spend quality time with your pets, and your pet will get lots of love and exercise such as play time and lots of walks. We have a large fenced yard. Most of the lawn edging has been removed for the safety of our own pets and other dogs that come hang out. Our dogs go out to the bathroom every 2 to 4 hours, sometimes up to 5 hours. They get to go play in the yard yard and also get to wander around the house. There are gates in certain areas that we don't want them to be in, such as the room with the litter box, my reading room and the kitchen. They're not allowed in the bedrooms unless they are supervised and/or it's bedtime. At night, both of our poodles go to their "huts" which are in our bedroom. This way we'll be able to hear them if they have to go potty. Sometimes one of them will sneak on the bed and decide to sleep there. The dogs have multiple water fountains to drink out of, and a ton of toys. They are allowed to be on the furniture because they are our family members. The kitty has free roam of the entire house except for where doors are closed. When I'm at client's homes, I play with their pets, give lots of good scratches and pets, give them medications if needed, make sure their litter boxes and other areas are clean, as well as clean up any messes. If I stay at someone's home I make sure to leave it exactly how they had it before I came over. I'm respectful of people's property and I love being around their fur babies.

Last year, I also helped care for a house with three dogs (one was a Cane Corso), a cat, an aquarium, and a bearded dragon, so multiple, even large, animals don’t throw me off. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and post-surgery. Feel free to reach out for a meet & greet first, so I can get to know you and your furry friend. I work part time, so dog walks and drop-ins fit easily into my week. I’m currently walking for one regular client and have a lot of availability. Before I leave, I check that doors and gates are secure, confirm collar and leash fit, and make sure water is filled. I’ve worked with food motivated, play motivated, and praise motivated dogs, and adjust my approach to what works for each one. My walks stay consistent, using positive reinforcement, and allowing for plenty of “sniffari” time for enrichment. On days over 95F, I’ll swap the walk for a drop-in instead, to keep the dog safe from the heat.
