About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.

I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. This experience has helped me stay confident and attentive when caring for other people’s pets, and I treat every animal like they are my own while they are in my care.

I volunteer at the local humane society, so I'm very adept at adapting to your dog's needs. I particularly love active dogs, and I'm happy to take your pup on hikes and swims in the lake. I'm also happy to hang out and have a more relaxing day with older, less active pups. Ellie (13) is very well-socialized, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.
“We left our beloved Poodle and Airedale plus another Poodle we were babysitting while we were at a destination wedding in Tahoe. This was a difficult decision for us as our dogs have never ever been left with someone else. We couldn't have been more happy. Beautiful home, Beautiful yard and loving care. My dogs, while confused, were instantly at ease. Kathy sent pictures and updates though out the dogs stay. It was easy on us and easy on the dogs. I would recommend Kathy in a second and if I have the chance to go to tahoe again, I would use her again in a second. The best picture was the two standard poodles sitting with her on her couch one on the left and one on the right. Thanks again Kathy.”

He loves being outdoors and Nayla took the dogs on off-leash walks twice a day, as well as made sure our pup was comfortable and ‘at home’ in her home. It was clear our pup was LOVING his time playing with Nayla, Zeina, and their many other dog friends too. About: I've had my own dogs, cats, horses and chickens. I've been pet sitting for a few years now. I try to go on as many walks as possible and even bring them to work if the family is ok with it. I love animals of all ages! I have a full-time job but I can work from home 3 days a week. So I have plenty of free time to go out for walks or simply let them outside. I will make sure they get the attention they need. If they are outside I won't leave them out after dark on their own. Lock all doors for other furry visitors. Make sure they have a comfortable bed. What meant the most to us was what her care allowed us to do. Knowing the girls were in safe and loving hands allowed my wife and I to finally relax, go on a short hike together, spend quality time with each other, and actually enjoy one of our last days in Tahoe without constantly worrying or feeling overstimulated ourselves. I raised a Beagle (Billy) from puppyhood and proudly attended dog training classes with him (Billy and I both learned alot !) I've also had the joy of rescuing Summer, a gorgeous ex-show dog Golden Retriever, who was by my side for 13 years. After that was Bammer, an Alaskan Husky Lab mix. He was my adventure buddy, and always kept me on my toes! About: I have lived in Tahoe for 25 years and always had my own dog and watched over my friend's dogs throughout the years. My best friend (Maggie - Retriever) passed away 18 months ago and I watch many of my friend's dogs frequently, including an elderly short hair retriever that is battling pancreatic cancer. I work from home and board my friend's dogs as well as check in and walk dogs when owners need help. I do have a number of recent references. I have worked from home for 25 years. I am very active and walk frequently. I am an early morning riser and monitor how often dogs need a walk or outside break. Pets are a part of my daily routine. My home: I have beds set up and recognize different doggy routines, ie need to go on the porch for sun, or need to go out for a break and walk. I have a section on my porch and in the laundry area for their food and water and a special area where I organize all the food, medication, leaches, doggy bags. I have a place by my couches with a large basket with balls, toys and stuffed doggy animals. I watch a number of my friend's dogs, and each has a unique and special routine and they have all come to trust me a look forward to visiting. I stay a bit at some of my friend's houses if they want me to help with house watch, plants, delivery receipt and other home needs while they are traveling and away on extended trips.

I regularly go on runs, walks, hikes, paddle boarding trips, and swimming, and I would love to have a dog accompany me during those activities. Caring for pets would add structure and purpose to my day while also keeping me active and engaged. I also work full time as a medical assistant at Tahoe Forest Health System Monday through Thursday from 5:45 AM to 4:20 PM, so I really value making the most of my time outside of work. Having pet care responsibilities would be a great way for me to stay busy and active after my shifts or on my days off. Since I don’t have much family or many friends in the area, I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and would love to build a bond with your pets. Spending time with them would not only keep them happy and exercised, but also keep me motivated, fulfilled, and connected throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. I make sure they are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise through walks and playtime, and receive lots of attention, companionship, and supervision while in my care. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they feel safe and well cared for in their own environment. When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. We are open to all types of animals, Brewer used to live on a ranch so he is accustomed to many different types. We are always looking for a play buddy. Currently, we live in Tahoe City. There is a big trail system behind my house and I often take dogs up there for exercise. Inside the house, I am always open to having a dog on the couch or bed as long as the owner is. I am not a partier and am an early morning person. Your dog will be sure to get a morning and evening walk at the minimum. The dogs I walk usually come for any adventure with me, but if you have a senior dog that just needs a place to hang out and be loved on, that’s fine too!
