My dog stayed with Alexandra and her two kiddos for 5 days/nights, and I was able to fully enjoy my vacation because of Alexandra's excellent communication. She kept me updated and texted me each day before I had a chance to worry about anything (after all, she was caring for my fur baby!). I felt at ease knowing that my pup was in loving and attentive hands, and I could text any time I felt the need. My dog is super friendly and also has some behavior quirks. She can get overexcited, and Alexandra had no problem following all the care instructions. She noticed my dog's comfort or discomfort and ensured she got what she needed. When I picked up my pup, she was quite content and even gave Alexandra a little lick goodbye, which told me even more about the care Alexandra and her family gave my little one. “I was very tentative about leaving my baby dog with someone from an app that I haven't used before. Not that I haven't heard about Rover, I just thought there was a high chance I would not get my dog back. Lauren and her partner, Justin, asked to have a dog meet-and-greet. They were so nice and sweet, the interaction between Lukas (my dog) and them was a good sign. One of the main reasons I chose to book with Lauren is because of the fact that she and Justin are home pretty often and Lukas was not alone for long. The morning I dropped Lukas off at their place, Justin was the one who was home and so helpful with getting everything I packed for the week's stay. I overpacked and brought too much stuff but Justin helped me get things out of my car. It was a relief because I could tell from that interaction Lukas would be well taken care of. I thought that I was being an overbearing dog parent by asking for pictures 3x's a day but Lauren said that is the minimum amount that she sends everyday. My dog was not on a strict schedule for breakfast, potty breaks, and dinners but Lauren's updates were pretty consistent from day to day that I could predict when I was going to get a message. I could tell that Lauren really cares about the wellbeing of Lukas because they always checked with me before doing something that was not in Lukas's normal care plan. For example, she wanted to get treats from the farmer's market they went to and texted me before feeding it to my dog. I felt like Lukas was on a vacation getaway of his own cause Lauren and Justin spoiled him just enough that I thought my dog wouldn't want to come back home with me by the end of his stay. At the end of the stay, my flight got delayed and I was a lot later than my pick up time that I scheduled. Lauren and Justin were so flexible and were waiting for me when I came for pick up. When I drove up, they were waiting for me outside and helped me put everything in my car. Lauren handed me a couple of polaroids and a bag of the farmer's market treats that my dog loves now. I definitely recommend having Lauren and Justin dogsit your furry baby, you won't regret it one bit. I already plan on booking with them for my next vacation! I know Lukas wants to go back and stay with them too.”

About: We've designed our experience a little differently than most. Rather than filling our home with multiple unfamiliar dogs, we intentionally host just one dog (or one family's dogs) at a time. We made this decision because we know separation can be hard. Our goal is to give every guest a calm, relaxing vacation while giving their humans peace of mind knowing their pup has our full attention. My husband Cameron and I have both been around animals our entire lives and have experience with puppies, seniors, bulldogs, and dogs with special needs. We also have two young kids (ages 3 & 6) who absolutely love animals and know how to be gentle and respectful around them. Whether your dog loves hiking, backyard sniff sessions, playing fetch, or simply curling up on the couch for a nap, we'll happily match their pace. We'll also send plenty of photos and updates throughout their stay because we know being away from your dog isn't always easy. We'd love to meet you both! We keep our schedule intentionally flexible so we can build our day around your dog's routine instead of expecting them to adjust to ours. Your dog's safety is our number one priority. Our backyard is fully fenced and we supervise outdoor time closely. Because we have young children, we've already built our home around safety. Medications, chemicals, and anything potentially dangerous stay locked away, and as a gardener I'm always mindful of which plants are safe and which aren't. If your dog joins us for a walk or an adventure, they'll always be on leash and right by our side. They won't be left unattended anytime, ever. We don't take guest dogs to dog parks or introduce them to unfamiliar dogs. We prefer controlled environments where we know exactly what's going on. We know leaving your dog with someone new can feel stressful. We take that responsibility seriously and will care for them like one of our own.

About: I grew up with 6 pit bulls, taking sun baths with them in my backyard. I’ve volunteered in SF SPCA and donate monthly. My best friend aka Herita is a rescue, she’s been with me for over 3 years now. I believe animals have taught me how to love unconditionally and responsibly. About: I'm a very responsible middle-aged woman who works from home and would be happy to care for your fur baby. Eventually I'll get a dog of my own! Our household consists of me and my partner, Rocky. We both grew up with pets, but currently don't have any. I work about 15-25 hours a week from home so I have plenty of time throughout the day for walks around the neighborhood and trips to the Alameda dog park. My partner and I are homebodies and enjoy spending time working on our house and gardening. I have a fenced in yard and several rooms of my house can be sectioned off to allow for large spaces to hang out, if the dog needs it's own space. I also have plenty of room to set up a crate. I do not have any pets. About: We are a husband and wife team with a combined 30 years of experience working with dogs. We have had the joy of caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, & personalities. For us, our job is simple. To make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved when you are away. Since my husband and I both work from home, our schedules are flexible. This means your dog will have constant companionship throughout the day. A typical day includes: Outdoor playtime at various parks, 3 dedicated walks, and lots of snuggles. About: I had a dog for 15 years and while we are holding out on getting a new one for a few years till we stop traveling so much, we would love to hang with yours periodically when in town! We have a fenced in yard to throw a ball in (and a six and nine year old who never tire in doing so) and love taking walks to all the local Piedmont parks with a pup. My husband is mildly allergic, so unfortunately only able to take in non shedding, hypoallergenic poodle type mixes. And of course dogs need to be kid friendly, but my kiddoes are very sweet and gentle with dogs and will give the dogs lots of pets and affection in return. About: I managed a pet sitting service for 4 years with more than 400 clients and owned my own pet sitting service for 2 years, providing above and beyond pet care: dog walking, boarding, overnight house sitting, cat sitting, and other small pet care. About: i’ve taken care of pets for around 8 years maybe more. i’ve taken care of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, fishes, chinchillas and would love to take care of more! “Alexandra was an incredible pet sitter for my almost 3-year-old mini bull terrier. Alexandra is a clear communicator, proactive, kind, responsible, attentive, and loves animals. My dog stayed with Alexandra and her two kiddos for 5 days/nights, and I was able to fully enjoy my vacation because of Alexandra's excellent communication. She kept me updated and texted me each day before I had a chance to worry about anything (after all, she was caring for my fur baby!). I felt at ease knowing that my pup was in loving and attentive hands, and I could text any time I felt the need. My dog is super friendly and also has some behavior quirks. She can get overexcited, and Alexandra had no problem following all the care instructions. She noticed my dog's comfort or discomfort and ensured she got what she needed. When I picked up my pup, she was quite content and even gave Alexandra a little lick goodbye, which told me even more about the care Alexandra and her family gave my little one. “I’m so glad to have found Hy and Arlo! My dog Neko can be shy with new people and reactive toward other dogs, so I was nervous about leaving her with a dog sitter. Hy met with us in advance and was extremely patient and understanding of Neko’s issues. She understood the need to keep Neko away from other dogs and was so gentle and sweet with her. She was great at communicating and sent plenty of pictures and updates during Neko’s stay. I’m planning to leave Neko with them again this summer and know she will be in good hands!”

They also took time to answer all my questions and show me around where the dog would stay/the yard during the meet and greet.
