On walks, I go where they want to go, and while housesitting, I leave my schedule variable based off how your pet seems to be feeling. If they are energetic, I take them on a walk, if they are tired, I relax at home and let them sleep. I rarely let your pet out of my sight, and safety is my biggest concern at all times, making sure to never put your pet or myself in a dangerous situation.

On my way to the cul-de-sac mailbox, it jumped the fence and slammed my head onto the concrete. Scalp split open, I ran home screaming. From then on, dogs terrified me. I hid behind my mum around dogs bigger than me…and at the time, every dog was. I declared myself a cat person, and that was that. Then YouTube appeared. The algorithm’s “infinite wisdom” served up a video of Cesar Millan transforming a “mean” dog into a “nice” one in five minutes. Were all dogs really this easy to understand? If I could do what Cesar did, if I could master dog training, maybe they wouldn't scare me anymore? It became an obsession. I watched thousands of his videos. Before/after. Wild/controlled. Chaos/manageable. Scary/incredibly cute. But watching dogs on a screen was a different beast than working with them in real life. My great aunt in Cape Town, South Africa, gave me my first round of exposure therapy when she took me to a Great Dane farm. Dozens of giant dogs loomed around me. She held my hand the whole time and introduced me to every. single. one. I can do this. I can do this. She has since passed, but being around dogs reconnects me to her memory. It's a heartwarming comfort. Years later, a friend was having trouble on her walk. “Can I try?” I gave her a few concrete instructions from my musings: “Krishna, you’re really good with dogs.” “What? Nooo.” “Uh, yes. She never listens to anyone else, but she’s perfectly calm with you.” “Nahhh, she can just sense I’m vegan.” I assumed everyone understood dog body language and I was just slow on the uptake. Turns out, they don't! Not only was I no longer afraid, I was giving lessons! Today, clients fly me across the globe to care for their dogs. My last assignment took me to London for two glorious, busy weeks. While I hope to have a dog of my own again someday, I want to dedicate my time to caring for yours in the meantime. Over the past ten years or so, our house has become a landing spot for our friends' dogs so we're used to providing a nice space for them - we play, run through commands, go for lots of walks, and give plenty of affection. Having used Rover to board we know what makes a good experience. You will receive as many photos as you’d like – If you want a lot of pics and details, like me, you’ll get them. If your dog requires medication or special treatment, they’ll get it and on time – our last dog Smuckers was on meds in her older years so we know how important it is. Our drinking water is Berkey filtered and we run two air purifiers. Our home is clean and spacious. Including a large enclosed side-patio. Our home is also a peaceful place to be. The vibe is calm. We read books, listen to music, cook, laugh, go to bed early :) and we’d love for your pet to join us. We will spoil them! I work from home so your pup will get all the attention and love they need. And lots of walks too - three a day is no problem! We previously had two dogs of our own so our home is very dog friendly - it's an indoor/outdoor space that is secure and homey. Your dogs will be treated as if they were our own - with lots of love and attention.
About: I have looked after my own pets for my whole life. My family dog at home is a border collie and needed at least two walks per day. While being in LA, I have house and pet sat for a single dog and two dogs, and it has been so rewarding. I have looked after friends dogs too when they travel. I’m currently working in the evenings at a restaurant and I’m free during the day, so I’ll be able to spend the days with your animals and will make time for them when I get home.
