When I lived in Cameron Park, I cared for five dogs of my own and kept them all very active through daily walks, outdoor time, and structured routines. Since moving, I no longer have pets of my own due to limited space and financial stability, but my experience with multiple dogs has given me strong hands-on knowledge of managing different personalities and energy levels at once. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. About: Growing up with dogs my whole life, there has not been a year where we have not had dogs in the house.... meaning we love them! To add to growing up with dogs, I (ambitiously) got a puppy during my senior year of college. This taught me to balance caring for a puppy while excelling in school and enjoying my senior year. This challenge gave me a new insight into putting 100% care into a pet and made my bond grow deeper with my dog, Josie. My family's dog, Molly, is a therapy dog for hospitals and schools allowing me to see the true joy that dogs bring into people's lives. That said, I truly enjoy finding the joy and laughter each dog brings into our home! Working from home, I am truly present to take care of and be attentive to all dogs. There are a few days where I will be unavailable due to travel or subbing at school, but those are blocked off on a weekly basis. Josie and I always start our morning with an activity. Josie loves to go on a morning run, so if your pup is a runner... get ready to join the pack! On the other hand, my family's dog, Molly, loves her walks and play time. We also have a park and great trails in our neighborhood meaning the day is open for adventures. Our condo is in a wonderful area close to the beach with lots of grass and easy access to walking trails. As a home welcome to dogs, we love having them sleep with us but can crate them if that is their safest spot. We have the space to feed dogs separately if needed.

This was a difficult decision for us as our dogs have never ever been left with someone else. We couldn't have been more happy. Beautiful home, Beautiful yard and loving care. My dogs, while confused, were instantly at ease. Kathy sent pictures and updates though out the dogs stay. It was easy on us and easy on the dogs. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.

He loves being outdoors and Nayla took the dogs on off-leash walks twice a day, as well as made sure our pup was comfortable and ‘at home’ in her home. It was our first time leaving him with someone and Nayla very kindly sent lots of photos and videos. It was clear our pup was LOVING his time playing with Nayla, Zeina, and their many other dog friends too. Nayla was also super helpful and flexible in coordinating drop off and pickup for times that would work with our flights. Overall it was such a great experience and we can’t recommend Nayla enough!!”

I usually spend my days off wandering in the woods and playing at the lake. My ideal day may include a morning hike, evening walk, lake sunset, porch relaxing, reading/Netflix at bedtime with dog cuddles. I can offer as much or as little activity as needed, feeding times flexible, house rules flexible (furniture/no furniture, crate/free roaming) depending on your home routines. They can get overstimulated in new places, and honestly, so could we. With my wife currently pregnant, we could only do so much physically, and we were feeling pretty overwhelmed and anxious trying to balance everything while still making sure the girls were happy and cared for. We felt bad because they’re dogs — they need adventure, stimulation, and interaction — but we also knew we were reaching our limit and needed help. Thankfully, we found Melissa on Rover. Seeing the girls smiling in her backyard overlooking Incline Village and Lake Tahoe made us feel like we absolutely made the right decision. What meant the most to us was what her care allowed us to do. Knowing the girls were in safe and loving hands allowed my wife and I to finally relax, go on a short hike together, spend quality time with each other, and actually enjoy one of our last days in Tahoe without constantly worrying or feeling overstimulated ourselves. I was devastated the first time I witnessed an animals death which took place in India and was left wondering if we as humans have done everything we can to have provided for our fellow friends. I raised a Beagle (Billy) from puppyhood and proudly attended dog training classes with him (Billy and I both learned alot !) He loves being outdoors and Nayla took the dogs on off-leash walks twice a day, as well as made sure our pup was comfortable and ‘at home’ in her home. It was our first time leaving him with someone and Nayla very kindly sent lots of photos and videos. It was clear our pup was LOVING his time playing with Nayla, Zeina, and their many other dog friends too. Nayla was also super helpful and flexible in coordinating drop off and pickup for times that would work with our flights. Overall it was such a great experience and we can’t recommend Nayla enough!!”
